( frivolous ) super giddy and a fun-loving person. because of her playful nature, she may come off as careless and irresponsible (which proves to be true most of the time, but that's not important) or something of the sort, but really she's just trying to have fun. she can't go one minute in complete silence; she says it'll make her go insane. she's always trying to make everything into a game to entertain herself (ie. work, training, other obligations) just so she can actually get the obligation done or because she's bored. if anything, there's never a dull moment with her around.

( optimistic ) definitely one of those "the glass is half full!" kinda person. now this trait of hers makes everyone feel like there's no evil in the world, everything is paradise and that there's always hope for situations that seem hopeless. she's definitely great to talk to for a pep talk because everything about her just seems to lift your spirits when she starts to talk. maybe it's because her voice is so gentle and inviting and she's always smiling about everything. maybe. whatever it is, it makes people think that she's an angel because she's so positive about everything.

( stubborn ) not good or bad, just really frustrating to deal with. to jin sae, she sees being stubborn as standing her ground, which is true. if things don't go her way, she just starts to sulk. not that anyone cares really, she just ends up thinking about how much better things could be if they went her way. she won't be willing to step down to her ideas until a majority rules or unless bai hua tells her that it's not a good idea (which doesn't make her think that she's wrong, just that unnie probably knows best. she'll still sulk regardless of who tells her). she's very iron-willed and determined.
( efficient ) though people call it lazy, she likes to call it efficient, which honestly isn't a lie (to her maybe). jin sae very much likes to take out all the hard-work in some things and makes it so that what she's doing isn't as energy-consuming. jin sae will admit to the fact that she's lazy but quickly defends herself by saying, "being lazy can bring out the effieciency in you!" to be honest, her methods of doing things aren't even bad, it all works the same way, just much faster and less energy-consuming. people just don't trust it because it isn't by the book. because why do things by the book when there's an easier way, right?

( childish ) jin sae enjoys anything made for kids, such as kiddie playgrounds (she likes to see how long it'll take until she can't fit into the slides), toys for ages 4+ ("it says 4 and up. it doesn't have an age limit, and if you haven't noticed, i am age 4 and up."), and basically anything that will entertain her in life even if it's just for a few seconds because once she gets bored of it, she can easily find something else that will entertain her just as quick. she clearly lacks some maturity for her age, but some people think it's refreshing to be around, and jin sae gives off a youthful vibe. her friends find her cute, whimsical, and perhaps a little bit too playful. she is easily excited, very easy to please, but even easier to distract.

( sarcastic ) pretty much everything that comes out of is sarcasm followed by an eye roll. she doesn't know why or how she's so sarcastic, it just comes to her first nature. state the obvious? expect a sarcastic remark almost immediately. saying what everyone is thinking? (ie. gosh this cave is so scary...), expect something like "oh no! i thought this was a resort island! gosh, thanks for telling us, we couldn't tell." she's super smart alecky and snarky to the point where people don't even know if she's being sarcastic or not. or maybe get her punched. whichever. (really, just think chandler bing from friends, she grew up to be him. he's her spirit animal.)

( blunt ) she's a straight up, brutally honest person. almost everyone says she needs to be more careful with her words, but no matter how many times you say so, it's not going to happen.ever. it's pretty much just who she is, and if she does try to choose her words carefully, it'll come out harsher than she intends it to. she definitely has lost a few friends because of that, but her intentions are always good. it's kinda hard to be her friend because with her, there's no sugar-coating it. you ask for her opinion? she'll give it to in the most honest way ever. well, at least you know she isn't lying, mainly because she at biting her tongue and lying.

( short tempered ) although she may seem all sweet and patient with all her good traits, she can be on the opposite end of the personality spectrum. she has little to no patience for anything really. walking too slow for her? she'll either push you or cut in front of you and then yell at you for being too slow. poking at her? brace yourself for a lecture and a slap upside the head. she's really easy to annoy and really easy to get angry; but don't get her angry because that's just a living hell. really, what seems like a minor issue to you, could be the equivalent of the sky falling for her. i guess you could say she's overly dramatic as well.

( prideful ) she has a slight superiority complex. just a slight one. but who could blame her for her extensive knowledge on the history of the kingdoms and other useless stuff? not to mention her family's constant bragging pretty much feeds to her hubris as well. let's just say she thinks she can handle anything by herself, and her pride prevents herself from asking anyone for help when she needs it. her ultimate downfall as she underestimates any given situation, but she is able to learn from those mistakes. still doesn't stop her from being an arrogant, somewhat douchy person with a superiority complex, though.

( adventurous ) jin sae is always up for a good adventure, so she likes to go and sneak out of the castle past hours simply because she's sick of being cooped up in the "small" and "horrible" place. on days that she has no classes, she likes to go venture around ashvale, but she's never been able to go past the border. she'd venture around the castle, but she's already done that numerous times when she was a kid with her brother, so she wants to keep going further and further to see new things, which plays into her rebellious side; because her sense of adventure gets the best of her and so she breaks the rules. perhaps maybe that's why she's so attracted to taemin?

background » born and raised into ashvale with a loving family. when she was born, ashvale was in a grave state after winning a year-long intense war with a neighboring kingdom (aka taemin's kingdom) for they wanted to take away the youngest sibling of ashvale as hostage as a way to get them to surrender yet failing because of the heavily guarded room she was placed into with her brother. after finally winning, the kingdom looked to her family (jin sae really for some reason even though she was fetus af) to make the kingdom beautiful once again. as soon as she was crowned the princess of ashvale, the kingdom suddenly became beautiful as it once was in seconds (everyone assumes it's because of some magic power she had after being crowned) and she is considered the light and hope of ashvale, so she's really high up there. when both her and her brother became old enough to understand how the ruling of the kingdoms worked, her parents originally chose jin sae to be the heir, but since she had no interest in it, and because her brother did, she gave her birthright to her brother, not that anyone minded really. 

when she turned 6, her mother suddenly died, leaving jin sae very devastated for many years. her siblings seeing this almost immediately, they always did their best to keep her company and make her laugh, especially bai hua, taking on the motherly role of the 3. when jin sae turned 11, her father remarried, making jin sae depressed yet again, but never showing it to her father, eventually developing an adventurous side to make her forget the hole in her heart.

as jin sae began to grow up, she never really had any interaction with anyone outside of her kingdom, so naturally she sort of grew up the cliche lonely and always bored, looking for something to do type of princess. although she has an older brother and sister who she loves very much, she didn't get to see them that often because they always had a much busier schedule than she did. not to mention she was homeschooled, so she never was bullied or treated terribly. everyone who worked for her were always very kind to jin sae. and as a typical princess, she received classes such as writing and reading, korean, history about the kingdoms, proper etiquette, and magic. she can't say she hates her classes because she gets to learn something new each day, but they're not exactly enjoyable, except for her history and magic class.

though because of her rebelliousness, she's been able to sneak out of the castle at night more than once, and because of this, taemin's kingdom came very close to kidnapping her in her own town, but she saved herself because of her useful binding spells. due to this, her parents hired more gaurds to make sure she stays in at night and that she never goes out of town unacompanied.

mother // tian bingbing // 45 // ex-queen of ashvale // having been the youngest, her mom knew her time was limited to spend with her children and did her very best to make the most out of it, paying especially close attention to jin sae knowing she inherited her poor immune system. she was never one to show too much bias towards her children but couldn't help to surveillance jin sae when she thought no one noticed. due to this, jin sae became a little too dependant on her mother. it would be safe to say that jin sae didn't take her death very well at all.  // 7

brother // han jin suk {fc; lee hyun woo} // 23 // the next heir to the throne // they're super close. like incredibly close. if they didn't have to be separted because of their busy lives, they wouldn't. they could talk all day about anything and everything they want to. they're the type of siblings that will just randomly say "ugh i'm on my period" or "why do i have a b0ner?" they tell each other everything. there are little to no secrets between the two. they wish they could have more time to spend with each other, though. they especially love their little bonding sessions which involve learning magic together. also becuase they have opposite traits, you could say they compliment each other very well, but of course because of their differences, they do get into arguments like regular siblings, but they don't let that get in between them. it helps keep each other in check and introduce each other to things they didn't know about. // 9 // traits; softie (but acts like a toughie), rational, smart alecky, overly-dramatic, unforgiving, cautious 

sister // han bai hua // 21 // princess of ashvale // having been the more mature and quiet one out of the 3, she would always be the one to politely nag both of her siblings, especially jin sae due to her more care-free personality. in fact, she would secretly send guards to her chamber in the night after having her escape the castle more than once, almost getting kidnapped once. despite jin sae thinking that she's less fun than jin suk, she always knows that she's only looking out for her, having slowly filled the void in her heart when their mother died, now becoming dependant on bai hua. you probably could say that bai hua is the "new" mother of jin suk and jin sae. due to her dependancy on bai hua, she's become quite jealous the attention that jonghyun has been getting from her, feeling a little lonely knowing that she can't always depend on her, and what if she leaves her for jonghyun? // 8

step-mother // li fu yi // 44 // current queen of ashvale // in all honesty, jin sae never wanted her dad to remarry and was secretly against the fact that her dad was going to remarry, because in her heart, there would never be anyone to replace her own mother and was offended that her dad even thought to marry fu yi and cried by herself in her room the day of the ceremony. she feels that fu yi is too nice for her liking and doesn't get the same vibe from her as her mother whenever she says "my child" but instead decides to ignore it, because heck, no two people are the same. i think it's safe to say that jin sae doesn't really like her and does her best to stay away from her. she's always begging her older siblings so she can stick with them for the day, even asking to be grounded her so she can stay in her room. fu yi is always trying to spend her time with jin sae, trying to make her seem as nice as possible, only failing and scaring her away. she secretly wants the han siblings to be dead. // 4

personality » though at first taemin may come off as cold, he's actually quite the opposite. he's very sweet and charming. he likes to use his looks and aegyo to get his way, and normally does. he's very reserved and likes to keep to himself, but that doesn't stop him from socializing with others if he needs to. he likes to mess around and play pranks on his closest friends (aka shinee minus minho unless they reconcile abt the marriage thing ohohoho). he gives off a very relaxing aura and much like jin sae, he is just as prideful and arrogant, if not more and absolutely hates asking things of others. he is very caring and won't let anyone he loves get hurt and will protect them at all costs. he's also very confident in his looks and skills. taemin is also naturally flirty and friendly; so he makes all the girls swoon. but when he wants someone really badly, there's no holding back his advances; he's great at flirting which is why he's a prince charming to many. despite all that, there's no doubting his kiddish, gullible and cute side. it probably comes out 99% of the time anyway, which is what makes him unique; manly but not. 

love story » yet another romeo and juliet story; before she left for her journey, she had already met her to-be husband; choi minho. the 2 hit it off and they began to crush on each other, but fate plays a cruel trick on both her and minho, as she is sent onto her journey. during her journey, she goes through the town her parents always seemed to loathe for a reason she can't seem to remember why. she meets the prince, lee taemin and instantly falls for his charm and personality and feels that he's her perfect match. it was because of her that the journey was delayed a week simply because she wanted to get to know taemin better. the longer she stayed the more her and taemin fell for each other, both knowing it was dangerous for them fall in love, especially since their partners have already been determined. the more the two kept fighting their feelings, the more they felt the urge to want to be together more and more. taemin and jin sae both are conflicted on what to do next when her journey ends; tell their parents to break off the original marriage to marry their most hated kingdom and hope their parents will understand, or please their parents? will jin sae listen to her rebellious side or will she marry minho to please the citizens and to keep her image as the hope of ashvale?  who knows, if they marry, would it be a beginning of a new friendship?

minho and jin sae first met in somewhat traditional means since both of their parents are quite the sticklers to old traditions. this meant that despite jin sae's and minho's protests, she had to go to minho's kingdom to meet him (he wanted to see ashvale, whereas jin sae just wanted a normal hangout without guards). though everyone knew that the day for them to meet would come since they have been arranged to be married each other before they were even born. even though both minho and jin sae have been dreading this day with ever fiber of their being, they were unable to talk their parents out of the arranged marriage. when minho finally turned (she was 16 at this time) 18, their parents immediately went into action with their plan, having the pair meet asap. to their surprise, the meeting actually wasn't as horrible as they thought it to be. their parents sent them out on a nice date around town with jin sae's gaurds following a few kilometers away. that aside, they both happened to be very compatible with each other. they found that they have several of the same interests and would not stop talking about it. there was never an awkward silence on this date (unless the gaurds rudely interrupted from time to time). in fact, that was the start of their relationship blossoming, soon falling in love. in fact, they were both very excited about the marriage that was to happen when both of them turned 20, but of course, the journey had to come along. despite the marriage being a little less than 3 years away, minho never fails to show how much he cares and loves her. mostly through teasing her about the small things that she hears all the time (height/birthright/sweet tooth/the journey (don't die! or come back alive, okay?)), which earns a glare and an insult back. in short, they never fail to show how much they care for each other, either materialistically or emotionally, but a little teasing never hurt.
