silent readers

I was just wondering... to those of you who have subscribed to any of my fics, why is it that you don´t necessarily comment on them?  I know there must be some people who read it because I keep track of chapter statistics, but I just don´t get comments nearly as much as I used to.

This probably sounds really salty and bitter and everything and I´ḿ sorry if I´m being oversensitive or anything, but I´ḿ really just curious... do any of you ever comment on other fics in general?  What makes you decide to actually comment on a chapter?

I usually leave comments, I know how it feels when you write and nobody comments and I dun want others to feel like what I've felt

I honestly don't know at this point. I've always made it a point to reply to every comment I get, but eh. Comments have become rare.

For me, I'm sorry...O.O I did subscribe to a few of your stories, but what I tend to do (even though I'm also an author myself) build up a list to read but I haven't been able to start since college and all x_x (I feel dreadfully sorry for my subscribers who keep lingering around asking for updates...and now finals are this week and just bleugh x_x

So, mianhae...I'm also a silent reader, but I'll try to find time after my finals and drop by your stories and other author stories in general to comment ^^

Readers tend to comment better and more often when you reply to their comments and interact with them. No one feels comfortable commenting if they feel you don't notice their comments and best way to make them feel acknowledged is to reply to their comments. :)
There is never such a thing as "too many comments and inability to reply to all comments." Always acknowledge your readers. :)
Also, cliffhangers at the chapter ends help ;)

Not your stories but just stories in general... I usually comment but I don't when it's an old story or I see that the author doesn't reply.
Honestly I hate that too though. I update a new chap and no one comments but I have more views and subbies... T_T It's hurtful and confusing.

I go through this ALL the time & It kinda frustrates me. I appreciate my readers, I really do. But I never know what they're thinking because they never say anything. A lot of my friends tell me don't worry about it but writers love when their readers say 'Hey, That was great!' or 'Hey, That wasn't very good'. And they don't realize that their feedback helps us grow as a writer....Oh well, I guess that's not gonna change.

For me its becouse english is not my first language and my english grammer is really bad
I only comments on storys that author didnt reales chapter for really long time and i really wanna know what is gona happen next
And i fill stupid just posting plsss update

I do understand that it troubles you a bit. Sometimes it's hard to keep up with every single update. I try to comment as soon as I've read a chapter / story but when life gets busy...
Sometimes I just subscribe to fics that look interesting to read them later on because I don't want to miss a great story.

I wish I had more free time *sight*
