When she was 12 her mother took a trip to France with her aunt, she was gone for 8 months, in that time Nari felt a bit lost as her mother played a large role in her life, her father took notice of his daughter's change in attitude and suggested she take up an after school club, her parents had never pushed the idea prior. She took her father's advice, and ended up in her school's archery club, for which she showed great skill. After her mother returned from the vacation, Nari took a heavy interest in France, and would often be found researching the country, it was at this point that her mother decided to teach her French, just in case her daughter went to France in her future
At the age of 16 Nari decided, well before even graduating high school that she wanted to live in the city and not Busan, her parents were at first against the idea, which lead a tension as well the development of a rebellious nature in Nari and her increased use of sarcasm. Eventually after realizing that they couldn't change her mind and trying to stop her only put a strain on their relationship with their daughter her parent's respected her choice but also added a clause or fail safe of their own, she of course would be in school and either living in a dorm or by herself, no matter where she had to have a job, no job, no city though to Nari it seemed unfair it was actually logical as her parents would only support her if she were home, if she moved to the city she had to support herself.
