As a former Zitao supporter, this is really pissing me off. And before you all jump on my throats, NO, that doesn’t mean I’ve changed my love for Zitao to hatred, it just means that I’ve stopped caring about EXO AS A WHOLE. That includes Luhan, Yifan, and obviously Zitao. Now on with the rant.

Please read the entire thing. I know it’s long for a rant (4½ pages on Word), but this is coming straight from the frustration-riddled depths of my mind.

Okay. Okay, okay, okay, I can’t take it anymore.

I know I said that I already quit K-Pop. I know. I stopped going to K-Pop-related sites, stopped listening to K-Pop, stopped looking up K-Pop news, stopped reading K-Pop fanfics, stopped doing K-Pop EVERYTHING.

Yes, I quit. But that doesn’t mean everyone else has. So of course, some of my friends on FaceBook will occasionally share posts from KoreaBoo and whatnot.

So yes, this is going to be a rather long K-Pop blog / rant. And yes, this is going to be about EXO. Or more specifically Zitao.

Look, I know that Zitao has a lot of fans. He has a lot of adoring Hailangs who really look up to him and admire him. They love that even despite all that unnecessary hate, Zitao continues to slay, continues to mature, continues to develop. I know that and I respect Hailangs for continuously supporting their beloved artist. They’re all amazing people and they have such amazing spirits for doing something which I, personally, cannot do anymore, and that is to continue to love and support Zitao.

With that said, remember that I love Hailangs because I’m going to ing call them out on it in the next paragraph.

I’m not going to call out any names here, because you know who you are. And I want you to. ing. Stop. I just CAN’T ing take it anymore. Yes, you love Zitao. Yes, you admire him. Yes, you’re going to hear people hate on him. Yes, yes, yes, yes, ING YES. Zitao’s ALWAYS going to get hate. Who wouldn’t? He’s an artist. It’s ing natural.

Yes, it’s annoying and it hurts to hear people talk about Zitao and insulting him, what with them constantly calling him useless and a traitor. SO ING WHAT? The same thing happened to Yifan. Where were you then? Oh, I see. It’s because you only care about Zitao so the rest of the ing world doesn’t matter. Luhan got called a traitor too, but no one defended him because he can sing and everyone knows he’s going to be all right.

So if people know that Zitao would slay the Chinese entertainment industry and were excited for his debut album, then why the hell are they pissed off about his haters? Zitao himself composed a rap about his haters and how they’re doing nothing but wasting his time. Which, personally, I think is stupid because while it shows that they’re merely wasting their time and that he’s obviously above them, it also shows that he’s paid attention to them. This will only fuel them to even work harder to try and bring him down.

And wow, I had no idea that entitled his fans to do the exact same thing: calling out his haters.

(God, I’m sounding like a total .)

It’s just that, well, GIVE IT A ING REST. Do you think haters are going to go “okay, I’ll stop hating on him now” because Hailangs are telling people “YOU BETTER STOP INSULTING HUANG ZITAO HE’S THE MOST PERFECT BEING TO WALK ON THIS EARTH YOU ER”? Are you serious? Are they actually going to do that?

Think of it this way: if you are a hater of someone else (that’s Taeyeon, Yoona, Taylor Swift, Iggy Azalea, etc. for me) and a fan of that person tells you to stop because that person “goes through so much hardship to be where they are now and they deserve so much more, you ing ”, are you really going to stop? Are you really going to let one person’s ‘speech’ change your entire opinion about someone entirely? I’m not saying that you should hate on people (you can’t help yourself, though, admit it, there’s just people who you will never like no matter what) – I’m just saying that no matter what, unless you yourself decide to stop hating that person, you’re just going to continue to hate hate hate hate hate.

And Shake it Off, while catchy as , is another song which I think is stupid because it shows that Taylor cared what haters said about her enough for her to write a song about them. But I digress.

Just do what the smart people in the allkpop comment section do when it comes to haters: IGNORE THEM. Or, if you can, report them for continuously spamming their hate for that person. You can’t do that in real life, though, so just ignore them.

DON’T do stupid things like:

• Say that insulting that person insults you as well. Because then haters will take it as a way to bring you down as a fan of that person. It makes you an easy target and the haters will have even more of a reason to continue to insult your favourite celebrity.
• Say that that person had gone through so much to be where they are now. Oh, I’m sorry, I didn’t know that celebrities are gods and that EVERY SINGLE ONE OF THEM went through hardships before becoming famous. I also didn’t know that we peasants will NEVER go through ANY of that because we need to dream to become famous first for all that to happen.
• Say that that person has suffered so much injury and isn’t recovering very well / something along those lines. The K-Pop industry is much more harsh concerning this compared to the American / European industry. But do you think companies will care? Do you think that once the money starts rolling in, they’ll stop and think that “hmm, I should tell them to stop with their promotions despite them being my main money maker; they’re obviously tired and need a rest”? No. It’s very disheartening and very sad, but we can’t do anything about it. Maybe harass the companies by sending them dozens of mail asking them (don’t threaten them, for ’s sake, you’re going to get nowhere) to take care of the band’s health. Which SM they’ll most likely do only when they’re condemned to a wheelchair.
• When you see that the hater is a fan of the group that person used to be in and say that the hater isn’t supporting the group at all / say that they’re a true fan. And then say that without that person, that group wouldn’t be where they are today. Which I think is total bull because, no, without strategic marketing from their company, that group wouldn’t be where they are today. Without their hardcore fans, that group wouldn’t be where they are today. If that person was never there in the first place, you wouldn’t even see that there’s a difference / something missing. But since you take out a member from that group, everyone sees it as an element missing. You all were fine when Yifan / Luhan / Jessica / JYJ / Han Geng left. But the moment Zitao leaves? AHHHHH BURN SM TO THE ING GROUND. And as if one lone person carries the entire weight of their group’s reputation on their shoulders alone. Everyone in that group shares that, but most importantly, their company. Who else do you think gets called out on the most regarding EXO’s comebacks or Zitao’s injuries? Baekhyun? So, really, the group wouldn’t be where they are today without their company and fans.

This one pisses me off the most. Who’s to say that you yourself are a true fan? What actually defines a true fan? No one knows, because everyone has their own different definitions of a true fan. One who loves and supports all the members, both past and present (very hard to do in the American band mindset, when members (like the drummer or bassist) are usually replaced more often than not), one who sticks with them until the very end, one who will be happy for them until the end even if they stop being a fan of them in the middle – WHO KNOWS.

In the One Direction fandom (yes, I’m using them as an example, because Directioners are mindless idiots), after Zayn left, Directioners are blindly kissing Zayn’s arse and praising whatever he does (calling Naughty Boy a ‘fat joke’? That’s just uncalled for, Zayn) and giving e to the other four members when they don’t even deserve it. It’s kind of the same for Zitao’s case, where people still love Zitao (they definitely don’t hate the rest of the EXO boys, though), but still. Was it the same for Yifan’s case? No. Am I pissed off that people gave e to Yifan when he left and yet supported Zitao when he (unofficially) left? Yes.

This last one also annoys me because I got defined as a fake fan. FOR BEING ANGRY AT ZITAO FOR JUST LEAVING WITHOUT ANY OFFICIAL STATEMENT FROM HIM. Someone (I think they’ll know who when they read this) posted a blog about Zitao’s departure and how SM can go themselves. I replied, feeling hurt because was seriously no one angry that Zitao just up and left for America without any kind of statement for us? Really? Was I honestly the only one who felt sad and angry? Everyone blew up when Yifan left, and everyone blew up as well when Zitao left. But to SM instead. No one cared about Yifan, but everyone cared about Zitao and I still have no ing idea why. Anyway, I wrote that OP is not Zitao’s therapist (they said something along the lines of ‘Zitao must be feeling sad / betrayed’) and would therefore not know how Zitao feels. Only to have one ucker replied to my comment saying that people can only hypothesise right now for their own opinions without any solid proof, calling me out for being a fake fan as I’m ‘not supporting Zitao’.

Which is ing stupid, because 1) I’m allowed to feel whatever the I want to feel. If I feel betrayed, so be it. If I feel devastated, so be it. Don’t call me out on having feelings. And 2) ucker has no proof either, so shut the up and don’t assume anything until everything settles, which still hasn’t settled, by the way, so I’m still waiting for that.

You know what I think is a fake fan? LITERALLY A FAKE FAN. One who’s pretending to be a fan of that person but actually hates them / doesn’t give a damn about them. That is LITERALLY its definition and people are twisting it to their own damn ways to use it against others who show the slightest bit of emotion other than happiness and excitement when regarding their favourite artist / band.

ING HELL, WE’RE HUMAN. WE HAVE DIFFERENT ING EMOTIONS. I’M SORRY I’M NOT A ROBOT PROGRAMMED WITH ONLY ONE DAMN EMOTION IN ME. Why do you all say that celebrities are human too and are entitled to feel emotions when fans aren’t allowed to?

You’re all such hypocrites.

What to do when you see hate comments about that person you’re a fan of:

• Ignore.
• Ignore.
• Ignore.
• JUST ING IGNORE THEM ALL.

Honestly, if I see any more of my ‘friends’ ranting about this on their blog posts in AFF, I am going to delete my ing account so I won’t have to deal with this anymore.

(1) I only say ‘friends’ because they add me here on AFF, and yet they don’t even try to strike up a conversation with me. Like, honestly, what’s the point of requesting me as your friend if you’re not even going to try and befriend me.

2) That’s how I know you guys are still pissed off about this. My ‘friends’ write rant upon rant on their blogs here on AFF. And that’s how I hope they see this blog post and just please stop.)

I’m so tired and so annoyed at seeing all this. I can’t avoid it, because as I’m getting more friend requests, I would want to go through their profile, stories and blogs and know more about them. And then I see this again and I feel like jumping off a building.

If you can rant about this, I can rant about this.

I’m sorry, but I feel so much better now. You can all hate on me and unfriend me, or see me as a total face (I already know I am, I don’t need you to point out the obvious), but I would really appreciate it if you see this from my point of view. This kind of rant is rare, especially coming from a Hailang (used to be Hailang, actually, sorry), but I have endured so many posts like this with me not saying / commenting anything (well except for that one time when ucker replied).

You will (okay, might, from other people) only see this once. I had to endure seeing tons of those rants. I just ask you to read this and understand this and not comment anything that goes against this. Because I know you may want to have your own opinion heard / read, bUT ING HELL, I have already read tons of the same damn opinion, I don’t need you to add on something repetitive which I already ing know. I may not have covered it in here, BUT I ALREADY ING KNOW. Just keep your comments to yourself. If I can do it for about a bajillion of those rants, you can do it for this one rant.
