I’m always telling my students to listen to more stuff in English, and not to worry that they don’t understand every single thing. Being able to interpret stuff in context is so important when learning a language. Well, today, I put my own advice into practice and sat through most of the latest Weekly Idol episode with Infinite. Big clap for noona, whose Korean is limited to 화장실이 어디에요? (Where is the bathroom?)

This is shaping up to be one of the best outings for the boys to WI yet, although I suppose the next one will always be the best one.

High-Gyulights: Random Play Dance (as always)! With Back, finally, although only a snippet, and Gyu holding his hands up in Aegyuriffic surrender when The Chaser plays. Oh, and handsome manager and sweet mandu-cheek manager taking the punishments for the boys’ dance-nesia.

High-Gyulights: Gyu being all, “I love you, manager”, then ASSAULTING him with that water bucket. Note that naughty, satisfied little smirk at 0:32. Yeah, our dearest leader is sooooo sorry and soooo regretful to be doing this. Also, Gyu, making us wonder why he bowed out of being in Girls’ Generation, or, as they should have been known: Gyurls’ Gyuneration.

Uh huh. Imagine what could have been!

High-Gyulights: Sunggyu’s completely effortless “I had a scary dream with ghosts” aegyo. Sunggyu the canvas. Yeah, lots of Gyud good moments.

High-Gyulights: Not sure if this qualifies, but basically me being unable to take Gyu seriously at all, even when the Bad violin part is playing in the background all dark and broody. It’s hard to take a dude seriously when his face looks like a truck stop bathroom wall.

There. I played student and listened to a whole show in a language I know nearly nothing about. I’m shocked I understood (or believed I understood!) as much as I did, and I’m looking forward to the subs to check if I was even partly right. Subbers, I’ll be waiting for your hard work with much appreciation! (I'm looking forward to the quiz segment. Man, there was some cringeworthy stuff in there!)
