"Appearance versus Reality is such a profound theme of life, don't you think?"
Jules sees every new obstacle as a thrilling new chapter in his life, and an opportunity to further propel himself into self-proclaimed greatness. Physical challenges are faced head on, but it's the intellectual obstacles that give him a rush of excitement to prove to others, and maybe himself, that he's not just another pretty-faced Central District airhead. Whenever challenges don't present themselves to Jules, he seeks them out by trying new things and interacting with new people. What can be described as an endearingly multi-dimensional personality, humour and congeniality come easily to Jules. Jules constantly battles with himself to determine if he should really spend energy making others happy or if he should isolate himself completely. His outward behaviour tends to draw people to him like moths that fail to see that the bright, enigmatic flame will burn them alive if they get too close to him.

Pleasure ranks the highest good in life for Jules.The Epicurian identifies such rewarding pleasure with the practice of virtue, but Jules would much rather seek his euphoria on his own, or with whichever woman that has managed to captivate him at the moment. He tends to go to great lengths for the sake of his own happiness, and isn't shyof resorting to methods that produce short-term happiness and long-term depression. His frequent lapses of depression makes him question his significance in the order of things; he wonders if he isn't trying hard enough to be a good person, or are his [figurative] inborn demons there to make others around him excel and to be adored by the masses? A continuous internal debate, that has yet to reach a conclusion. Of recent, Jules has display a wariness and mild distrust of others, after witnessing how corrupted and deceitful people can become. He does not doubt that there is evil in everyone, just in varying degrees. A sure way to determine if he can trust someone is through carefully concealed watchfulness; it is quite rare that Jules finds someone with a level of internal complexities that he can truly understand and empathise with. His relationship with the opposite is both straightforward and confusing. At a glance, Julien Mizuhara comes across as the paragon of a budding addict. His apathetic behaviour to the deeper emotions of women as he uses them for his own self gain has earned him an unfavourable reputation at Virtrude Academy, and thus many people think they understand all there is to know about him. If they were to look deeper, it can be noted that his tendency to treat women as playthings stems from his feeling of inadequacy in the presence of powerful women such as his mother and older sister. It is somewhat pathetic that he resorts to emotionally scarring women in order to conceal his fear of feeling insignificant around the type of woman that will surely kick his when thoroughly provoked.

BACKGROUND
— Martina Delacroix is somewhat of a legend at Virtrude Academy to this day. Born to a family of French immigrants, Martina grew up constantly in fear for her life on the outskirts of the Domed City. The lack of protection from deviations of the night granted Martina and her family more freedom to practice magic, and by the age of 14, it was evident that she would become a formidable shaman. As a student of Virtrude Academy, she quickly became the best shaman, possessing exceptional talent in healing masses at once as well as having enough physical prowess to be a capable offensive shaman when called upon. After deciding to leave the Academy at the age of 21, Martina engaged herself with the politics of the Central District, and once she gained enough influence, she began heavy campaigns for an increased number of purification quests, since she knew first-hand about fighting monsters at a young an inexperienced age. Jules treats his mother with undeniable respect, so much so that at times when he witnesses his mother performing magic or commanding those who work work her, he gets a little wide eyed and nervous. He certainly feels that he's disappointed Martina on numerous occasions due to him not being a shaman [plus his school record isn't as nearly as impressive as hers]. Martina, though often busy with her job as a politician, loves Jules regardless of his inability to perform magic, and tries her best to give him useful advice when he needs it.

— Cara had followed closely in her mother's footsteps as a shaman at Virtrude Academy, and when she left the Academy at the age of 23, she went on to serve under Yu Jiashuai, who is a close friend of her mother's from their Academy days. Jiashuai worked to develop areas on the outskirts of the Domed City and Cara was the head of the Scouting Department, due to her skill as an offensive shaman and her tactical prowess. One scouting mission a few miles from the outskirts went horribly wrong; after several hours had elapsed since the small group Cara led left the outskirts, Jiashuai's people triesd to make contact with Cara using the standard tracking device [ to Jiashuai's displeasure they are magically inserted, because technology, shamans and anywhere beyond the outskirts don't mix very well] all scouters had, but there was no response. After a week of no response, Jiashuai personally broke the news to Jules, Martina and Takuya at the end of the previous academic year. Jules was devastated; though he was often compared to Cara and felt inferior in comparison, she had one of the most gentle souls he knew. The entire summer was spent in mourning and hiding in his home away from prying and pitying eyes.

HISTORY:
« Julien Mizuhara is the son of a retired-shaman-turned-politician and Central District's top distributor of weapons for just about anyone except shamans. His paternal family was filled with nobles, who he was never truly comfortable with at their numerous galas. Most of his childhood was spent in the bazaar of his maternal family. Though the bazaar was owned by the family of French immigrants, it housed numerous middle class vendors and even wealthy business people set up their offices in the bazaar. Jules can fondly remember running around the bazaar ---which resembled a little redstone city from the desert, and not in the heart of a growing metropolis --- and interacting with families of different social backgrounds. The childish innocence of Julien began to diminish when it slowly became evident that he didn't possess and affinity for magic, unlike his older sister Cara. As a result, his father encouraged him to spend mroe time with his side of the family, which had a large number of retired archers and swordsmen. Neither appealed to Jules as he was introduced to them, but by the age of 13, he discovered a love for brawling when his childhood friend Woobin snuck him out to watch a brawlers' practice session in the middle class area of the Domed City.
Though his parents were supportive of his decision to become a brawler, Jules could feel the judgement from his paternal family and his parents' circle of aristocrat friends. As Jules grew older, he grew more accustomed to his reputation as the Black Sheep of his family [being the first brawler from either side]. Instead of competing with Cara [who quickly became the rising starlet of the family], he sought out trouble and girls, which can be classified as a mixture of a cry for attention as well as his desire to separate himself from the legacy of his mother and the growing one of his sister. »

— With similar naturally brooding facial expressions, sculpted lips and penetrating gazes, Jules and Mihan can pass for siblings, and many have made the mistake of doing so. Jules doesn't mind, because he sees alot of his late sister in the shaman; he likes to playfully tackle Mihan with hugs that she's extra careful to avoid. He likes bugging her like a protective older brother should, which eventually earns Mihan's fondness, due to her being an only child. When they were younger and were forced to attend charity galas with their parents, Jules was a constant source of entertainment for Mihan, though her father's wish to marry her off to him disgusted them both, and reduced them to childish whining and shudders of displeasure. Jules was there for Mihan when her father betrothed her a few years later to someone she didn't care for [though that changed overtime], even though she pretended as if she was perfectly fine with it and he was also there for her when she decided to become independent of her father. In turn, Mihan was one of the very few persons Jules would allow to see him in his depressed state the past summer due to his sister's disappearance. It must be noted that Mihan can get very irritated with Jules when he takes his role as a surrogate older brother too seriously and begins to suggest boundaries for her relationship with Yifan; she finds him very hypocritical in such situations, because Jules can barely keep it in his pants around a woman he finds attractive.

— Despite his chic appearance, Kim Woobin is a sarcastic goofball at heart, and that's what makes his friendship with Jules so simple. When they're together, ual innuendos and bad jokes are of the norm, and when they're not teaming up to get girls, they're engaging in faux flirtatious banter and skinship that makes onlookers question their ualities. Though Woobin is a complete sweetheart, he's not the guy Jules can go to for a sdeep and heavy conversation.

— Jules and Yifan were weary of each other to begin with, because Jules disliked the fact that Yifan was so casual about his betrothal to Mihan [the fact that his squishy baby sister had a future set in stone scared him], and Yifan mistook Mihan and Jules' close relationship as a romantic one. Yifan thought Jules' presence would only complicate things, which at the beginning was true to an extent; Jules would act standoffish in Yifan's presence and scrutinise him at every chance. They avoided each other like the plague, until Yifan paid a courteous visit to Jules after Cara went missing; Jules wouldn't respond to his sympathy, so Yifan offered to spar with him. Eager to do something to take his mind of his problems, Jules agreed, and over the course of the summer, the pair bonded and forged a friendship over their love for battle. Jules finds that Mihan's medical patches are very useful when practicing with Yifan. Since the new academic year, one can find them hanging out together, and always giving the impression that they're having the time of their lives. Things can get momentarily awkward between when Mihan purposefully asks Yifan out for dates or hands him back his shirts that she borrowed in Jules' presence, but Yifan doesn't strike Jules as the bad guy anymore; he's more worried that Mihan will lose all sense of modesty and throw herself at his friend [because bromance prevails over all].

He immediately becomes apologetic and sees to it that her clothes are sorted out. After the incident, whenever he sees her at school he trails after her in the most stalker-ish manner ever and throws her an adorkable pedo-smile, which creeps her out.»

« He's surprisingly nervous around her, because he can see the potential she has to be someone of importance, much like his mother. Her ambition and her tendency to know what she wants in life intimidates him, leaves him in awe and make him feels directionless and insignificant. He tries to layer on that old Frenchie charm on her, but Woobin's greasy seduction tips [which Jules takes seriously, because since the past summer, he's been out of the game since he feels as if he can't treat women like crap anymore after what happened to Cara] only foil the Frenchie charm and make their interactions awkward. At first, she pegs him as a potential /kidnapper because he's literally everywhere she looks, but overtime he grows on her. She respects how serious he becomes when it boils down to practice and actual missions and his smoking hot body helps too, you know. Once they get past the awkard phase, Jules will subject her to slightly nervous, flirtatious taunts and because she's so damn argumentative, they'll squabble like one of those couples in dramas with the evident .»

I believe those damnations out there have consciences, so they must have the Rosary heavily protected, even if they can't physically touch it. If I were to have the Rosary, I'd probably donate it to the government or the academy, because I don't know if my sister is dead or not. So...why waste it? »
