BACKGROUND » Heo Yoori is born into a modest family of four. At home, she self-claim herself as the maid since Yoori can't stand dirtiness. Whenever she is at home and is doing nothing, or even when she is doing something, she would lurk and creep her way around the house to find anything worty of cleaning or laundrying or washing, well you get the picture. She is also the younger sister to a brother 7 years her senior. Yoori is very close to her brother and would often contact his brother while he is away.

At school, Yoori has three other close friends and they're quite a popular jumbled up mess. Among the four of them, they have President Moon, Athletic Ahn, Playboy Yoon and Tomboy Heo; and they were known as the school's F4. Yoori did her study well, but she is no class valedictorian and she also did well in running (and nothing else, really), but not as good as MVP Ahn. Yoori does't even talk to a lot of boys except those in the similar clubs as hers, her classmates and her good friends. But really, one thing she excels above her friends are in dancing and in mastering musical instruments.

To Yoori, her interest in rapping began before she even started dancing. She found that those men with inaudible and unexplainable word-vomit are eye catching and slowly, she started gaining a liking to rapping. Figuring that underground rapping was a big NO NO for her family (yeah, well, mother found a stash of my hidden lyrics in that old piggy box), Yoori then decided to move on to dancing. Dancing made her feel good, like letting go, it was almost like composing but with the body, it was like lyrics, but with the physical meaning. It was during her time in high school that landed her a spot with an entertainment company.

Yoori and a large group of combined girls and boys performed during a sports event and it was then that she was approached by a talent scout. Yoori needed her parents' consent and that was the hard part. She turned to her friends and asked them for help, because really, she couldn't think. Yoori then combined their ideas and wrote her parents a letter that said she was pregnant. Their expressions were priceless, but it was important for Yoori to keep on her straight face at that moment.

Then she explained, in the letter, how she promised she would a) become among the top ten in her grade, b) get a gold medal for the school's sports day, c) get a boyfriend her parents would like since her mother wanted her to be girly for once (but not any time sooner, mother I am sorry) and d) make her parents proud. Fortunately, her parents agreed to it and Yoori was signed under Fantagio around early 2010 and was put into project to debut with Hello Venus on 2012. But it didn't happen for Yoori since their CEO thought that Yoori was still not ready, and she was transferred to Pledis Entertainment.

Over at Pledis, again, Yoori was also put into a group project and was promised to debut with a new group. Around early of 2014, Pledis Ent and Fantagio has ended their partnership and the short-list of disbandoning (is that really a word now?) group; which put Yoori and a few other girls into it. Yoori almost gave up all hope when she finally auditioned for another company (thank you, CEO Hyun Suk) and is now improving herself day by day, rapping her lips off, writing her fringers numb over at YG Ent.

They did meet once, at Fantagio when she was to appear for 5urpr!se's MV and she got to know Seo Kang Joon and others in the group. He took care of her, knowing well that she wasn't in the company anymore and that she needed some time warming up to the other guys. Despite being quiet, he did give her a few pointers and she was forever so thankful. Yoori received a call from her brother that he was coming over to visit her right after she finished filming that day. Yoori was overwhelmed that she didn't notice she left her phone on one of the dressing tables. Kang Joon found it when he came into the room. It was out of battery, so he opted into keeping it and charging it before returning the phone to its owner. When he got it all charged and , he received flood of misscall and it all came from a certain 'Jun Hyung' and 'Jingster'. But no more calls came after that.

Yoori didn't know she was going to be partnered up with nation's new sweetheart had she known his real name. And neither did she know he was the kind angel who kept her phone from any predator that might have sold her iPhone. Once again, she was so thankful of his help that she baked him a nice cheesecake the next time they have a project meeting. They kept in contact ever since, even after the porject's long done and their busy schedules parting them. Kang Joon and Yoori texts another before they go to bed and wish each other a good morning. Apparently, she's the only one in the industry who calls him Seung Hwan. And sometimes, Kang Joon would mention Yoori's name to his Roommate friends.
