Ha Sung Baek POV

It was late at night.  The light from the monitor lit his face in sharp angles, turning dissatisfaction into edges of demonic glee as he rewound the video once more.

Oh, this is so good.

His long index finger clicked the pause button.

And…there. THERE.  The moment her happy little smile crumbles.

His finger danced in mad clicking as the video panned, zoomed and refocused.  He had bought the best available pin cameras, and it appeared that the idiot assistant had for once done an acceptable job in hiding them. 

Of course, I was the one who wrote out the instructions.  At least the moron knew how to read Korean.

His bitter smile was satisfied as he slowly advanced the film frame by frame.  It filled something in him to see the shock in her chocolate eyes turn to disbelief then horror.  It was exquisite the way he could see the pulse fluttering under the silky skin at in fear-

Just like I imagined it, just like I knew it would.  Just like I typed it on that letter.  What an ingenious idea.  It will be so much more fun to watch her suffer.  To watch her collapse under the pressure as her world goes from bad to worse.  She’ll feel like I felt.  It makes her look so….beautiful.

He turned to the flip calendar sitting on his desk, and with a red marker slashed through the giant-sized number 14.   

Only 13 days left.

“The countdown begins. Now for the next present.”

He chuckled cruelly, the dark room echoing back the chilling sound as his amusement grew until it seemed full of howling ghouls.
