Pairing: Chanyeol and Baekhyun ft. Jongin

Byun Baekhyun was in his fourth year in college when he met the tall, dark, handsome and the bad boy of the campus, Kim Jongin. Byun Baekhyun was just an ordinary guy who studies diligently, not thinking about dating or entering a relationship. But his world changed when Kim Jongin entered his life with a bouquet of roses on his hands, kneeling in front of him, surrounded by students in the hallway.

“Byun Baekhyun! Will you please go out on a date with me?” a blushing Jongin asked.

Baekhyun didn’t expect that to happen. He doesn’t quite know who Jongin was since the latter rarely attend his classes. He heard his schoolmates shouting YES! And Baekhyun didn’t have a choice but to say yes. They dated for six months. Baekhyun was still pressured thinking that he doesn’t deserve Jongin or that he lacks something to satisfy him. I’m imperfect, he thought.

His world crumbled when Jongin broke up with him. He was walking down the hallway – the hallway where Jongin asked him out when he saw Jongin holding hands with another guy – a guy with big doe eyes. They were laughing and were sweet with each other. Jongin noticed him and he smirked. Jongin approached Baekhyun and Baekhyun froze.

“Hey, Baek,” Jongin greeted.

“Hi… Who’s that?” Baekhyun couldn’t help but ask.

Jongin placed an arm around the guy’s waist and Baekhyun’s heart broke. “This is Kyungsoo, my boyfriend.”

Baekhyun swallowed a lump on his throat. “But I am your boyfriend, right?”

Jongin scoffed. “It was just a bet. I mean, you seriously thought that I was serious with you? Please, no. Who would date an imperfect guy? You don’t do anything except studying. You’re such a nerd. I’m breaking up with you.” Jongin passed by Baekhyun while hitting him on his shoulder.

Baekhyun didn’t go to school for a week. He couldn’t face anyone, at all.

After a week of crying and mending his own heart, he went back to school. He heard rumors that a new transfer student will arrive any minute now. It’s in the middle of the semester. Seriously?, Baekhyun thought. He felt sleepy so he fell asleep on his seat. He felt a nudge and that woke him up. When he opened his eyes, a billion dollar smile greeted him. The guy’s face was unfamiliar. He rubbed his sleepy eyes and the guy thought that he was cute.

“What the. I fell asleep. What time is it?” Baekhyun asked.

“It’s lunch time,” the guy replied.

Baekhyun’s eyes widened and stood up. Oh , he thought. When he was about to go, the guy held on his wrist. “I haven’t introduced myself yet. I’m Park Chanyeol. What’s your name?” Chanyeol asked.

“Byun Baekhyun,” Baekhyun said and immediately ran outside since he was about to miss out the cafeteria’s dessert sale.

Chanyeol smiled.

Baekhyun was about to go home when he heard a piano playing from the music room. He couldn’t help but open the door to know who was the one playing the piano. He froze when he saw Chanyeol there, feeling the moment. When Chanyeol finished playing, Baekhyun clapped and that made Chanyeol startled but he smiled when he saw that it was Baekhyun who was watching him.

“I didn’t know that you play the piano,” Baekhyun said as he closed the door behind him and approached Chanyeol.

Chanyeol chuckled. “And also the guitar,” he pointed at his guitar. “Her name is Matilda.”

Baekhyun waved a hand to the guitar and said, “Hi, Matilda. I’m Baekhyun, nice to meet you.” The both laughed at Baekhyun’s joke.

“Can you sing?” Chanyeol asked.

Baekhyun had a faint blush on his cheeks. “I-I’m not that good at it.”

“It’s okay, it’s not like we’re perfect,” Chanyeol said. Baekhyun was stunned at the latter’s statement. He watched Chanyeol tune his guitar. When Chanyeol was done, they started jamming. Baekhyun sang the song, Love Song by Bumkey and Rhythmking.

The song ended and Chanyeol looked at Baekhyun with amusement in his eyes. Baekhyun looked down, shy.

“That was fantastic,” Chanyeol grinned. “You’re amazing, Baek! I think you complete me.” Chanyeol held both of his hands on his mouth. Baekhyun looked at him, wide eyed.

“Excuse me. What did you just say?” Baekhyun asked.

“Nothing,” Chanyeol lied.

“I’m not the one who’s going to complete you. I’m just nothing,” Baekhyun said sadly.

Chanyeol shook his head. “We’re all nothing. It’s not just you, Baek. All of us are imperfect. We make mistakes. Sometimes, we can’t do the things that others can do but it doesn’t mean that you’re useless or anything related to that. I may not know you that much but I know that you’re someone who can complete a life. And I just hope that it will be me,” Chanyeol confessed.

“You don’t know me yet, Park Chanyeol,” Baekhyun smiled.

Chanyeol smirked. “I know that is why let us start from being friends. Is it okay with you?” Chanyeol suggested.

Baekhyun put his finger on his chin, acting like he was thinking. “Hmmm, I guess so,” Baekhyun beamed.

“Then, let’s begin again,” Chanyeol said.

Baekhyun nodded.

Chanyeol showed his hand. “Hi, I’m Park Chanyeol. Nice to meet you.”

Baekhyun took his hand and shook it. “I’m Byun Baekhyun. Nice too meet you too.”

“Let’s be friends.”

“Sure.”

We're like puzzles. We need to start from the very beginning to become complete. It's fun when it's slow but it's sure. Rather than it's very fast but in the end, you'll be the one who's going to get hurt. Just take it slowly especially when you're still young. nyou can still meet a lot of people in the future. ♥ 

Nobody's perfect, you know. Just ignore the people who judge you because they seriously are not deserving to be with you in your journey. You're who you are and never let the things they say to you affect you because someone will love and accept you for who you are - it may not be me but someone. Lol just kidding. Love you bebs. ♥
