"It's been five days..." Baekhyun bit his lip worriedly as he searched the floors of the living room. He had looked under the couches, the loveseats, the tables, but he hadn't found any of his friends' cages at all. None of them had. It was as if they had completely disappeared right after freeing Baekhyun.
Lacey huffed, standing up from her kneeling position beside the couch and rubbed her knees. "We've checked this room, like, ten times already."
"We've checked all the rooms ten times." Tao whined.
"Everything except those locked doors." Lay stated. Lacey sighed heavily in disappointment as she raised the ring of old keys. She had tried all of these keys on those three locked rooms, none had worked much to their dismay. What were these for? They didn't know. They only knew of the newest addition, the small bronze key that was for that creepy basement. None of them wanted to go back there, so they had Tao break the handle off. Luhan would be the only one able to open it if he were to use his telekinetic powers. Now neither of her parents would discover that accursed basement. Lacey grew to be very worried over the five days where none of those prisoners have been found. It was already August thirteenth and her parents would be back on the twenty-second. She only had nine days left before her parents came back from their honeymoon and would start to get rid of all the old unwanted junk left over at the house. She couldn't risk that happening. What if they threw away a cage where one of the prisoners were contained? What if they accidentally dropped something breakable and watch it not break? Her parents would be doing just what those witches wanted them to do, to throw everything away and let the confined suffer for maybe even a whole eternity. She shivered at the thought of failing them. She really wanted to save them, to break them free from their confinements and bring them back home where they belonged. But the weird thing was, that whenever she tried thinking of them going back home without her, she felt herself frown deeply at the thought. The thought of them disappearing to another world disturbed her and she didn't know why. Hell, she barely knew them so why care if they were to leave? Shaking her head at the thought, she continued searching. Going back to her knees, she crawled alongside the wall, looking for gaps of somesort. It was when she neared the fireplace did Baekhyun scream out, "Lacey!" Baekhyun lunged for her, grabbing her by the back of the shirt and yanking her back. She fell on her with a pained grunt. Before she could turn around and ask the ex-angel what was wrong, she saw a vase topple down to the ground and shatter. Well that was definitely not a cage... She gulped. That vase had fallen from the fireplace mantle. She remembered placing it on there, but no where near the edge. I placed it in the middle, didn't I? "The witches again." Baekhyun whispered quietly in her ear. Everyone turned stiff at the mention of those witches. For the past five days, they hadn't attacked. But now they did, and it was something as simple as a vase falling on her head. They were clearly preventing her from getting close to the fire place. And they knew why. Slowly, they all stood up, Baekhyun helping Lacey to her feet. Tao brandished his sword, pure determination and focus in his dark eyes. Luhan's face had become stoic as he looked around the room, walking closer to Lacey as he did so. Lay was by her side in an instant, hands out and ready to heal her if any attacks came by. Soon all four of the boys were circling her. "There's something in that fireplace," Luhan told her. "Go check it out, we'll watch your back." Wordlessly, she nodded. She quickly walked her way towards the fireplace. Making sure that there was nothing on the mantle, she kneeled in front of it. Her head inched closer to it, eyes narrowed as she searced around the inside— "AH!" She screamed, falling back as the fireplace burst to life, fire blazing wildly in it.
