Once upon a time, there was a young lady who questioned everything she had done so far in her life. She discovered the music industry after 8 long years of practicing Taekwondo. She left home to pursue her new discovery of talents in the art of dance and music. She auditioned and became a trainee for a new independent entertainment company; a sister company of one of the known companies for idols. She strived hard to reach her dream of doing what she loves while becoming famous in the process. The results had been successful as time went by.

Yoon Bomi is questioning everything she had done and still doing in her 21 years of existence.

Chorong stared at Bomi long and hard after having seen her in a trance while eating dinner. Rare had she seen her out of focus in front of food, because it was Yoonrilla she was talking about here.

"Bomi," she called, "is there something wrong?"

No answer. The other members started to call out Bomi as well when they noticed her plate untouched, let alone her favourite chopsticks. That was when they popped Bomi's little bubble.

"What?" Bomi stuttered.

All of them exchanged looks before deciding to get back on eating their food.

"Eat Bomi. Eat." The same 93-liner put more servings of chicken on her place.

"Do not do that again, Bomi unnie. You really frightened me there for a minute because you weren't touching your food," Namjoo admitted, a whole spoon of rice hung by the opening of .

Bomi gave a fake smile and forced herself to laugh, making herself appear suspicious. Hayoung and Naeun remained oblivious but Chorong looked at her oddly like she was suspecting her of doing something stupid. To keep Chorong quiet, she continuously stuffed with food.

All of the member’s have drifted off to dreamland except for the petite leader, Park Chorong. This was one of the nights where she checks her SNS and checks a few articles regarding A Pink. She nodded every once and a while but there was one article she accidentally clicked.

The moment Bomi opened the door to her room in the early morning; Chorong sat in bed as she glared at her. Bomi felt chills down her spine, hesitating to walk in the leader’s bedroom.

Bomi nervously asked, “Unnie, what is it you want to ask me about that you even had to call me through the phone?” She didn’t feel good about this. “What’s wrong?”

Chorong walked to her and showed her the screen of her phone.

“What’s wrong?” She began to turn angry though she knew that Bomi had nothing to do with this. She wanted to believe that. “This is what I want to ask you about!”

She tried to calm herself down, but APink had been linked to EXO too much already. They garnered a lot of hate because of articles like this.

The light from the phone gave away Bomi’s hardened expression. She flinched and twitched. She failed to maintain her composure. Shock was evident in her friend’s eyes. This made Chorong’s worse guesses true, and she momentarily wished that Bomi should’ve plastered a smile and laughed it off instead. Or a poker face, that’s good too.

Seconds passed by and Bomi still hadn’t tried to even open . She can’t believe it; students were beginning to question her relationship with Chen. If this was a nightmare, it’d be better because at least she could wake up from it.

“I know you aren’t to blame for this,” Chorong tried to calm herself, again, and put her phone down, “because they might be just fooling around, right?”

How badly Bomi demanded herself to agree yet her lips kept silent. This might not be a big deal for others, but for them, it was. Because their idols. They chose to live in an environment where dating others, especially idols like themselves, result in inevitable judging from fans and netizens. That’s a borderline which they can’t just cross whenever they want considering of what it can do to the careers they sacrificed a lot for.

Chorong sighed as she sat on her bed. The group happened to be very busy for the past few weeks from preparing and practicing for overseas concerts, their new album, and going back and forth from Japan for promotions. And now, one of their members kept an unthinkable secret which if made known by sasaengs and reporters could turn into a scandal that would surely affect A Pink more importantly Bomi.

Bomi sat besides her contemplating on what to say. Why did she hide secrets from her own members? She couldn’t remember and now she really felt guilty about it. Right now, Chorong’s waiting for her to speak up. She deserved to hear how careless and stupid she was.

She breathed in deeply then confided, “I dated Jongdae for like, 7 months. He broke up with me last year.”

Chorong gave her a surprised look, she already knew what she’s going to say but it’s hard not to be. She suppressed her outrage as she stood up and exhaled. She could not believe that she didn’t even try and tell them once last year or these past few months. She walked back and forth, hoping to find the right words to say to Bomi without hurting her. Bomi hung her head down and closed her eyes patiently waiting for the consequences she rightfully deserved.

“I,” Chorong couldn’t even look at her right now and yet she controlled herself and told her, “I can’t believe you did this to me, to everybody. This clearly states of how much you trust us.”

Bomi felt tears forming in her eyes and resented herself for it. Why now? Probably because Chorong already knew so her heart gave in and she needed a shoulder that she hadn’t experienced while she attempted to move on and let go.

“I’m sorry.” Bomi covered her eyes. “I am terribly sorry.”

Seeing her friend break down, hurting and silently crying, Chorong temporarily chose to forget her responsibilities as a leader and embraced her. Bomi did the same to her when she encountered the same thing with Kim Junmyeon so how could she ignore this when she’s a person too that received and gave love.

“No. I’m sorry for him for letting a girl like you go.”

In the same day, she and her members huddled in the living room to reveal Bomi’s secret. At first, they had the same reaction like Chorong but all of their temper began to slowly fade away as Bomi shared the story of how she met Exo’s Chen.

International fans – those who ship Exopink – probably thought they officially met during that WGM episode for Taemin and Naeun. It was not.

2012.

The SBS Gayodaejun had just finished. Everyone started packing up and most of the Idol groups already headed backstage to their waiting rooms. A Pink waited for their manager to fetch them and tell them if their van was already outside.

“Bomi can you please buy water for me?” Eunji pleaded. “My feet are killing me! Damn heels!” She removed her heels and threw them on the floor.

Bomi pouted. “But -”

Namjoo dragged the chair she was sitting on in front of Bomi.

“Me too! Me too!”

Bomi covered her ears afraid of the harm she could get with Namjoo’s shouts.

“Namjoo, I'm not deaf!” She replied back.

Namjoo pushed her chair back and puffed her cheeks. This made Bomi uncomfortable so she turned her attention to Eunji to complain only to see her puffing her cheeks too, plus the puppy eyes.

“Okay!” She gave in. “Fine. I’ll do it.”

The duo stood and gave each other a high five then a low five which made Bomi sigh in despair for being ordered around when she’s tired like the other members too. None of the other members, exluding Eunji and Namjoo, seemed to mind too. They silently chuckled at the three’s undefeated energy.

As she walked down the hall to the vending machine, she couldn’t help but hear audible and disturbing sounds coming from a dim room she had just passed by. Her curiousness led her feet inside the big room. She took light steps while venturing her eyes around to find the source of the smacking sounds which she hears more clearly as she walked.

In the darkness, she found two images, the other leaning on the wall. They were too close for comfort and Bomi even squinted her eyes to see what exactly they were doing. She gasped when she eventually realized they were making out.

“Who’s there?!” A male’s voice filled with panic echoed in the room causing Bomi to clasp then slowly backed away for her not get caught.

‘Oh my goodness. They were kissing. They were making out!’ She screamed inside her head.

“I think you’re hallucinating, Jongdae,” the other spoke.

Bomi, being the clumsy person she was, fell on the floor creating a ‘thud’ sound that indicated the two of her presence.

“Somebody’s there!”

She didn’t hear the mentioned name or even cared in the moment because all she had been thinking about was two fellow idols making out and she had to escape before they see who she was and vice versa.

She ran out of the door and raced to the vending machine to buy two bottles of water. Sweat formed on her forehead so she quickly wiped it with her free hand. She then thought she could use a bottle of water too to quench her thirst from the running and the nervousness. With one bottle in the right hand and two in the other, she turned around to get back to to her members when she accidentally bumped into someone which made her drop the bottles.

“Oops.”

She quickly kneeled on the floor to pick them up. Another hand picked up the remaining bottle. She stood up and bowed immediately seeing that it was a fellow artist. He bowed too after handing the bottle back to her.

“Hello, Bomi sunbaenim,” he greeted.

‘Sunbaenim?’ She thought.

“Oh, um, hello too? I am so sorry for bumping into to you,” she apologized while staring at the guy’s familiar face, “Thanks for helping me pick these up.”

‘She doesn’t seem to know me,’ the realization came into the stranger’s mind.

Just when Bomi decided to leave first, he spoke up.

“I’m Chen from Exo. I forgot that this is our first meeting,” he shyly said and scratched the back of his head.

Bomi slowly nodded. “Huh?”

“We are one!” He then spurted out of nowhere hoping that his senior gets it.

She dropped her jaw, silently laughed then put her arm on to stop herself. This made Chen embarassed yet still, he cheekily smiled.

One of the first things she noticed about him was his unique smile – the way the tips of his lips slightly curve upwards.

“I’m so sorry, I just,” she tried to speak but then the memory of ‘We are one!’ made her voice crack, “I just.. Really sorry.”

He stared at her, couldn’t help but smile, and bowed to her again.

“Nice meeting you, sunbaenim.”

“You too,” she replied. “I am sorry, again.” She emphasized on the again part.

He nodded in response. She observed his face again in seconds, wanting to remember him and greet him the next time they meet.
