The doors slam shut.

The lights snap off.

The P.A. crackles on again.

“Players, welcome to the Final Decision.”

And finally, finally, they recognize the voice.

“Kibum.”

In his dark room, Kibum smirks.

“Yes, indeed. Kim Kibum I am. Kim Kibum the mastermind, the genius who created this whole thing. Oh yes…”

Suddenly, a video snaps to life on the far wall.

Kiana and Suzuki, bolting out of the doors of Shark Sanctuary. Han Geng, from a distance away, aiming, firing.

Leeteuk and Emikochie, dashing forward. Leeteuk, regretfully, trapping her, shooting her.

Kasumi, creeping along, so vulnerably. Heechul, striking from behind.

Willow and Yesung, facing off. Leeteuk, shooting at her unprotected backside.

Eunhyuk, struggling against loosened bonds. Willow, turning. Heechul, shooting Eunhyuk.

Kyuhyun, sprawled on the floor, pinned beneath a boulder.

Ryeowook, throwing himself off a cliff, into the abyss.

Sungmin and Shindong, throats slit by none other than Kibum.

“You have all made great sacrifices, lost valuable friends, and now it is your turn to shine. Give it your all,” Kibum’s mock-sweet voice croons. “And remember, only one may survive.”

But before anyone can move, and completely out of Kibum’s reckoning, Kangin punches the wall in anger.

Right on the “Eliminate” button.

“KIM YOUNGWOON, WHAT HAVE YOU DONE??”

But it is already too late.

The ground shakes.

Kangin rises up on a platform, while everyone else…

Falls into the abyss.

“No!” Kibum screams, cursing himself and Kangin with all his might.

The winner has been decided.

But the results…

Unsatisfactory.

Kibum shakes his head.

There is only one option left.

Beside his computer is a tiny red button.

“Last Resort,” it reads.

He presses it.

And waits.

The earth rumbles.

The Maze crashes down.

And so, just like that, they fall.
