I'd Climb Walls For You

(Meagan's POV)

One day I went to Jungkook's to hangout.  We didn't have any dance practice that day, and I was bored, so I just naturally called him to keep me company.  He was always happy to have me over, even if his place was extremely weird.

Jungkook's living situations were...different.  He had explained to me that for the summer, each of the members were allowed to go on a trip for a few months to improve their skills.  Jungkook had wanted to go to America, so he decided while he was there he would improve his dancing.  That was when he chose to come to our studio.  It had been arranged for him to stay in a small, temporary apartment for the time he was gone, rather than staying in a hotel and paying expensive nightly prices.

"Small, temporary apartment" was no exaggeration; it had one bedroom and bathroom, a kitchen, and a living room area.  It was small, but it was all he needed since he would only be in America for a short time.  There was hardly any furniture too.  He had only been given money to buy absolutely vital things for his place, so all he had were a few things to eat off of in his kitchen, some chairs, and a mattress in the bedroom, he had also brought his laptop with him (and obviously clothes).  He said it was hard but it was a fun new experience at the same time.  He was completely on his own, no assistants, no other band members, nobody.  He often told me he missed being surrounded by his friends, and being able to speak Korean fully without worry.

While I was there on our day off, I was sitting on the couch on my phone, and as usual Jungkook sat on the floor going to town in his sketchbook.

Jungkook loved to draw, that was obvious the first time I came over and saw several drawings scattered across the floor.  Truthfully it felt like the only real thing he had to occupy his time with besides seeing me was drawing.  Every night he would text me a picture of his latest creation.  They were usually just simple sketches but they were always amazing.  Is there literally anything he can't do perfectly???

"What are you drawing today?"  I asked him.  He didn't reply for a while.  I knew he understood me; he had an English dictionary he had been studying for weeks now and I talked to him all the time in English.  He just chose to ignore me.

"Well fine then."  I said.  Then a smile grew on my face, and grabbing an open marker on the floor in front of me, I smudged a a purple line down his cheek.  He yelled in shock, then burst out laughing.  Grabbing my sleeve, he pulled me down, and smudged graphite on my nose.  We laughed at how ridiculous we were being, and in the moment I glanced down at his paper.

"Ah, what's this??"  I asked, picking it up.  With wide eyes, he tried to grab it away, but I hid it behind my back.

"Give it."  He said in English, nearly panicking.  "It's a secret!!!"  He then raised his voice.  I felt bad, so I reluctantly handed it back over.

"Don't worry I didn't actually see anything...but will it be done soon?"  I asked, trying to lighten the sudden serious mood.  He broke into his signature shy smile and nodded his head.

That week at class, I asked Jungkook to teach me one of his dances from his group.  He happily agreed, and so in our free time he began showing me the moves to one of their songs "Danger."  It was pretty complicated, but I was having fun learning it.  We began dancing together like this whenever we had time.

One day, he asked me if he could film me and send it to s.  I was really nervous and I wasn't too excited about the whole thing, but I didn't want to let him down, so I agreed.  I performed the chorus of the song, nearly tripping and falling on my face several times.

"Wait, Jungkook, let's try again!"  I shouted at the camera, but before I could stop him, he pressed send.

"Hey that's not cool!"  I yelled.  Extremely embarrassed now, I grabbed the phone away from him.  He acted surprised but then just laughed and ruffled my hair again.  Eventually, I gave it back to him, and when I did, I turned away from him only to face the girl that I usualy dance next to in class.

"Hey, Meagan, can I ask you something?"  She said.  Nodding, we stood away from Jungkook to talk.  Truthfully, I wasn't even 100% sure what the girl's name was. but she was nice.  We weren't close and I definitely wouldn't consider her a friend, but she always made an effort to say hello to me or at least talk to me every day.  Before Jungkook came here, I would often go to her when I felt isolated in class.

"So, I'm just curious and I know it's none of my business...but are you two dating yet or what?"  She asked cautiously.  I nearly started choking.

"Dating?!  Ha ha that's ridiculous!  No actually we aren't we're just friends.  We get asked that quite a lot so sorry for the confusion.  We're just friends."  I explained.  I sounded way more frantic than I meant to.  Usually whenever I get asked about being Jungkook's girlfriend, I just shrug it off.  I'm always a little embarassed about it, but still, I had never panicked this much before.

Turning around I noticed Jungkook had been watching us that entire time, only his expression was off.  It was cold, ice cold.  I felt uneasy about it.  He walked past me to our spot in class, making sure he brushed his shoulder with mine.  He slipped me a note:

/ Can I come over later? /

I stood next to him and we began our dance lesson.  "Sure."  Was all I said.
