White Roses

Once Upon A Time... (on hiatus)

Chanyeol drove him to the large mansion. He was quite astonished by the large home belonging to the person his father had "stolen" from. He could only feel tears well up in his eyes as he remembered that this wasn't just some regular visit arranged. No. This all seemed to be permanent. He didn't want to think he'd never see his family again.

That wasn't something one should think. This world was civilized and surely his "master" or whatever could be arrested for having captive people right? Surely this was...This could all be handled in some way. Surely enough the "master" had some mercy or kindness that he wouldn't actually force Leeteuk to stay away from his family and home for too long.

Such thing made him afraid. All he had left was his family and that was all he wanted and needed in life. He gulped and held on even tighter to his bag of his stuff as Chanyeol lead him into another room. This room appeared to be a living room. There was a large fireplace with a mantle full of pictures and mini artifacts of some sort.

Along with the mantle and fireplace there were fancy looking couches that were velvet or leather. In the center was a long dark brown coffee table. On the table was a little centerpiece which was a snowglobe. Inside the snowglobe was a mini statue of two figures dancing and red shiny glitter inside for one to shake and make a red glitter world.

The objects inside the mansion were surely extraordinary and were made for someone who was affluent. Leeteuk was curious to if the master lived alone. Certainly someone would've come down to greet them. Maybe a wife or children of the master? Maybe. If only it were so.

"Mr. Park," Chanyeol said with a small sigh and turned to face Leeteuk. "This is a different arrangement for you, I---I know. But...The---"

Leeteuk tilts his head and interrupts Chanyeol. "What's his name?" He asked curiously, not wanting to refer his captor as "master."

Chanyeol cleared his throat and replied quietly like a mouse. "You can call him Mr. Kim, but once he's allowed you to call him something else than you may."

"Mr. K-Kim?" Leeteuk muttered, wondering what was Mr. Kim's name. He wondered what he had to do to allow someone to give their name to him.

Chanyeol sighed and said that he could sit down and wait. Apparently, the master would be meeting with him here. Leeteuk couldn't help but feel a bit nervous for having to meet the person who had threatened his family and decided to keep him captive.

Leeteuk had placed his bag on the floor and simply waited for someone to come. It seemed nearly like forever since time had gone by and no one was here. He was a patient person, yet he would like to think of something besides the departure of his family. He was hoping Mr. Kim could distract him.

In curiousity, he rose from his seat on a forest green velvet couch and approached the fireplace and mantle. He wondered what the objects on the mantle were. Leeteuk saw that on the mantle, there was a golden statue of a female wearing a dress and a wand in her right hand. He smiled at the beautiful work one had to make, though he wondered who the female was. Surely there was some meaning, one he didn't know of. But there was one.

He took a glance at the other objects on the mantle. He spotted a long and thin rectangular glass box. He held it in his hands and noticed the top was a lid that could be opened. He picked up the lid and saw that were a black cushion-like material inside the box. In the box was a thin golden chain. He knew it was simple, but even he knew the most simplest things could worth so much. He placed the box back and the chime of a grandfather clock rang. He jumped in surprise and wheeled around to see a few feet away from the fireplace and mantle was a dark brown grandfather clock with gold designs.

He the grandfather clock and he couldn't help but smile at the beautiful work. There seemed to be so much beautiful things in this large mansion, that were also golden, and it made him smile. It wasn't at all bad to have posessions, yet he couldn't find himself spending money on such things. They never ran out or had come to a moment where they never had any, but money was spent on everything they needed. Having a farm helped and besides, it kept them working.

"Interested in the time it seems." A male's voice was heard coming from right behind him. Leeteuk immediately turned around and looked completely startled at the arrival of the new person.

Behind him stood a young man wearing a black suit with fancy polished black shoes. He had leather black gloves on his hands and he wore a fancy mask which covered his face. It was a dark blue and it had feathery material coming from the sides. Strange...

"It isn't time that interests me." Leeteuk replied, remembering that he could stand up for himself. He did have that bravery and confidence from within. "The fine woodwork has gotten my attention."

The young man approached Leeteuk and looked at the clock. He opened his mouth to speak. "It is the gold in it that fascinates you?"

Leeteuk scoffed and shook his head. "No it isn't the gold. It's the clock itself. The work is beautiful. I'm thanking the person who made it."

The young man raised an eyebrow and crossed his arms. "The clock? Not gold?"

"People with gold are rich, aren't they?" Leeteuk said, not making it a question but more like a statement. He exhaled deeply, "Why do people spend money on so much?"

"Are you making the assumption that I used money to buy this?" The young man asked, his voice never sounding sweet or gentle.

Leeteuk sighed. "You assumed I was interested in gold and I assumed you used money to purchase gold objects. We're assuming fools I suppose."

The young man scoffed ans replied. "I will not stand around and be called a---" The conversation was interrupted by a female voice.

"Hello Kangin." The two males looked behind them and saw a beautiful young woman with black flowing hair, flawless light skin, and pink lips.

Kangin sighed deeply as he looked at the woman. "Mrs. Kim. Formalities are used here in my estate, I would like everyone to use them."

The young woman known as 'Mrs. Kim' smirked and put her hands up in surrender. "Never mind me and my formalities." She eyed Leeteuk and frowned at Kangin. "So...You got a new maid...Or butler."

Kangin cleared his throat and responded to Mrs. Kim. "Don't interest yourself in my personal business. You're here for business, not my personal life."

Mrs. Kim shrugged and crossed her arms. "Fine by me."

Chanyeol entered the room and looked surprised at the arrival of the young woman. He would've asked to bring drinks, but Kangin sent him a certain type of look. Chanyeol realized that the two figures with the surname "Kim" were to meet for business terms and that meant no one else was needed.

He nodded his head and snatched Leeteuk's bag and took his right hand and led him out of the room. Leeteuk was confused, but obliged Chanyeol's orders. He looked back one last time and heard Mrs. Kim burst into a laughter after Kangin had muttered something. Leeteuk was curious, but he knew not to concern himself in such issues.

From hallways to hallways and stairs to stairs, Chanyeol finally stopped at a door with a silver handle and grasped it. After turning it, he pushed open the door for Leeteuk. The pretty young man thanked him and entered. He couldn't help but stare at the whole room in shock. There was so much. So much extravagance.

The room was large with a king-sized bed with sheets, blankets and pillowcases made from fine silk. The frame itself looked as if it had been made by gold as well. Leeteuk approached the bed and touched the smooth silk material. Back at home, his own bed was not as fancy or large but it was cozy and warm as he liked it. His bed made it feel homely and he wondered if he would find comfort as he slept on this bed.

He glanced at the light purple colored walls that held the structure of the room. There were even golden designs panted on the purple walls. There were flowers attached to vines that were spread over the whole walls. Included with the flowers and vines were other detailed flowers that he was able to easily idenify such as a lily, a daisy and a rose as well.

Leeteuk glanced around himself and easily spotted a door open that revealed an extremely large walk-in closet full of all sorts of clothes and other things in there as well. He spotted a desk with a large mirror attached to it. There was also two large rectangle shaped windows with dark red velvet curtains covering the windows and what they exposed outside.

The room was quite grand and he smiled by the beauty of it. Not that he would prefer this over his little bed back at home. He was not filthy rich like Mr. Kim was, but he did not want things like this either. If he was born with such things he would have been thankful, but he was even grateful for the little home he shared with his father and sister. That was home and that was where the heart was.

"Hello!" A pretty black haired male in a full black suit. Leeteuk noticed a duster in the man's right hand. "I'm Baekhyun."

Leeteuk shook Baekhyun's extended left hand, "I'm Park Leeteuk," he introduced himself and released Baekhyun's hand.

"He's our guest, Baekhyun." Chanyeol chimed in as he sent Baekhyun a look. "Baekhyun is a servant of Mr. Kim's like me." Leeteuk nodded in understanding.

Baekhyun gulped, "This is your room. Chanyeol or I will fetch you when dinner is ready." The two servants exited the room, one of them closing the door.

Leeteuk slowly approached the windows and pulled back the velvet curtains. He unlatched the latch to the windows and opened the windows widely; he was shocked to see what was beneath him.

He had a good view of the large garden that came with the mansion. Leeteuk spotted a bush with white roses all over it. He was able to spot a white rose lying on the floor right next to the bush of white roses; it had been picked, but abandoned.

Instantly, he thought of how much he missed his father and sister. In a day he had lost everything that meant the world to him.

All he could do now was stare at the beautiful and innocent white roses that had gotten him here.
