Chapter Sixteen
The Taste of Death

Before anyone could stop me, I ran past the guard, through the hotel entrance, and towards the set of elevator doors. One of the bellboys tried to stop me, but I pressed the close button on the elevator and watched as the metal gray doors slide in front of his face.
"I'm sorry," I said to no one in particular as I pressed the button for the topmost floor multiple times. "I have to get to my friend before it's too late."
When I reached the top and exited the elevator, I looked back to see if Kyuhyun caught up with me, but there were no signs of him. I started to get anxious and annoyed at the same time. Why didn't he follow me? Was he going to let me do this alone?
Fine, then. I don't need him.
Liar.
It felt my as though heart was about to burst from its cage as I ran down the empty halls, through a pair of emergency doors and as I hastened up the staircase that opened to the rooftop.
I was going to confront the killer alone.

The rooftop was a large, gray tiled area that was almost empty except for the entryway that led to the staircase and a couple of vents. There were no railings.
At the far corner stood Jessica. A white handkerchief was tied over and both her arms were bound behind her. She was standing at the edge of the rooftop next to a familiar figure. I would never forget the look of fear in her eyes that day.
"Han Byul," I addressed the killer.
A psychotic smile crept onto the Meet and Greet contest winner's face. "Nice meeting you again, Ms. Makeup Artist." He tilted his head and frowned. "You don't seem surprised to see me, though."
