“Are you okay?” Chanyeol asked after he saw Joohyun discretely wiped a tear. He put his hand over her hand and lightly rubbed it with his thumb. Consoling her

She gave him a smile that does not reach the eyes. “It’s just so painful seeing them again together after all these years.”

“But I reckon that you always see them together. Since… you know… they’re a love team… a celebrity.”

“I do, but it’s different seeing them in person and on the screen of my TV.. it’s totally different” a sob escaped . “I thought I was over him.. I thought I moved on. But all this time…” she cleared and sighed

Chanyeol puts his arm around her shoulder “Don’t worry. I’m here.. I’ll help you move on”

“My friend Yoona told me that maybe Yonghwa was tempted maybe because Shinhye is beautiful so I should change my look to get back at them.”

“But you’re still the same old you?”

She squared her shoulders “I tried, but it is not just me. Well, I did tone down a bit on my geeky fashion…..” she stopped midway “Tsk! Yah! Don’t you dare laugh!” she said after she heard him chuckle

“Aniya! I just…” he studied her from head to toe “Never mind” he added a bit humor in his voice earning flying fists on his shoulder

“Yah! Say it! Just say it!” she said as she chuckled. She can’t believe how comfortable she is with this guy.

“Arasso, arasso! I just thought what could’ve been your geeky fashion at that time if you’ve already toned down a bit” he said as he caught her hands and enclosed it with his.

“W-well, my pigtails are gone for a starter” she answered and she saw him nod “My eyeglasses are a bit smaller”

“Uhuh.. two” he counted with his fingers as he waited for another one

“And….”

“And?...”

“I-I don’t know.” She said shaking her head a bit down

Chanyeol sighed “You don’t have to change anything. You’re already great as you are.”

She smiled “Thanks. That’s so sweet”

He bumped her shoulder “Remember I’m always here. I’d do anything to help you move on” he said. That way you can look at me on a different light. His heart added

She was already tidying up, putting everything back inside the box when she remembered something “OMO! I forgot to buy those 2 items remaining on our list earlier because of what happened. Tsk!” she covered the box and returned it to its original place

“Pali, freshen up and we’ll go back to the mall. The meet and greet should be over by now” Chanyeol said as he picked up their glasses opened the door only to be surprised

“Omo!” her mom almost fell as she was leaning on her door, eavesdropping

“Omoni! Kwenchanayo?” Chanyeol exclaimed

“OMMA!”

A bit embarrassed from getting caught, Mrs Seo busied herself and straightened her blouse. “I-I was just wondering if you need anything else” she said after she composed herself and noticed the tray of glasses on Chanyeol’s hand “I’ll get that.”

“It’s okay omoni, I’ll wait for Joohyun downstairs” he pressed the door closed and went down straight to the kitchen with her mother

“So, she already told you about him” her mother stated.

He smiled and nodded

“Thank you for being there, listening to her troubles” she tapped his shoulder, took two glasses of water from the fridge and gave one to him.

“It’s nothing omoni.” He saw her nod as they drank in silence

“Chanyeol-ah! Let’s go!” they heard Joohyun’s voice from the base of the stairs

“Wait.” Mrs. Seo grabbed his arm “Here, buy something delicious food or maybe watch some movie together” she handed him spending money. He was about to turn it down when she said “This is to help cheer up Joohyun. So please”
