"Jiyoung, there's something important I have to tell you," Appa said as we were having dinner.
"What is it?" I asked.
" I got a job, and I'll be going to the States to work, for a year. Maybe more," he started. Wow that's good, finally he found a job. We wouldn't have to suffer so much now.
"And?" 
"And.. Since you're in your final years of school, I decided not to bring you with me." he continued.
A year, and maybe more. That was long. Now, it's October. I'd be finishing school next year. So he wouldn't be there when I graduated. Great. Now it's like i don't even have a family.
"Why? You're gonna leave me here all alone, with nobody to take care of me?"
"No, you're not gonna be alone, you'll be staying with my stepbrother's family."
"WHAT?! Appa, I don't even know them! The last time we saw them was years ago, when Umma passed away!" I shouted.
"Jung Jiyoung, don't you shout at me!" he shouted back, slamming his fist on the table.
I shrunk back into my seat.
"Appa, take me with you please, I don't wanna stay there with them, I don't know them." I begged.
He shook his head.
"Appa. they have nothing to do with me, I'm not even related to them, why do you send me there?" I asked.
"I'm sorry, they're the only ones we have left as family. I can't let you live here all alone. They can help me take care of you, while I'm away," he said.
"Then don't go," i said.
"I can't. Jiyoung, do you want to live like this all your life? Do you want to live in this small apartment all your life? Do you want to suffer?" he asked.
I shook my head.
"I'm going to the States, to earn money, and when I come back, we won't have to live like this. We won't have to suffer," he said.
I sighed. It's not like I could change his mind.
"Jiyoung, before your mother passed away, she told me she wanted to see us live happily, and this is not what she wanted." he said again.
I'd rather suffer than be seperated from my one and only family left.
"Then.. what about this apartment?" I asked.
"I'll sell it away," he answered.
