Personality:

Haneul has a mellow, quiet presence that’s more comfortable with going along with the flow, letting things fall into place by itself. No matter what she’s feeling, she’ll have a smile on her face. She hates worrying people, building a shield up against her and other people. Haneul has a hard time trusting people easily and would need a good reason to let someone into her life. To the people she does let into her life, she’s forever loyal and sweet to them, dabbling in skinship a lot of time with them – especially towards the other S.C.I agents.

A perfectionist through and through, Haneul will strive to do her best in anything and everything. Somewhat demanding and insistent at how things should end up, she’s better off on projects by herself rather than with a group, making her a somewhat difficult person to work with when things do not go her way.

Haneul’s very realistic in her thoughts. She doesn’t let herself daydream and raise her hopes helplessly high cause she’s sure once her hopes skyrocket into space, they’ll come crashing down onto earth faster than the speed of light. She’s quite judgmental of people, believing first impressions to describe a person to a T.

No regrets is something Haneul follows. No matter what she does, she’ll at least think a little before acting. She finds no reason to act rashly and that she should always think ahead, contemplating all possible outcomes and hazards.

Generally, she doesn’t like people. They make her uncomfortable and suspicious about their true intentions. But if someone’s in a bind, she can’t help but offer assistance. No reason to leave a person troubled when something can be done to make things easier. She believes strongly in karma – what goes around, comes around.

She avoids confrontations/arguments. She finds it unnecessary most times and would most likely leave the room if the tension gets too much for her to handle. No matter what, she’ll never take sides unless it involves her.

Because of her quiet personality and her tendency to stray away from people, Haneul gives off a cold, aloof nature, making people assume she’s snobby and too good for them. Which is fine for her, cause she’s independent, working well by herself than having too many distractions.

 How she got in to S.C.I:

Haneul’s mother taught her how to live, how to survive, and most importantly, how to care. Needless to say, her mother was her entire life up. Growing up fatherless all her life, Haneul depended on her mother for everything.

They were never able to stay in one place for long, moving from house to house, city to city. Haneul never understood, just happy to be with the person she loved the most. For a while though, Haneul felt the pressure of having no safety.

When the time came to where they hid out in the forest, for who knows what, Haneul was only ten. She learned up close how deft her mother was with a gun and how skilled her knowledge in herbs and medicine appeared to be. The anxiety that her mother radiated was enough to keep Haneul alert, paying close attention to her mother whenever she was demonstrating something.

The anxiety grew with each passing day, the longer they had to stay in the forest, the more Haneul started to wonder if she would ever go back to a normal life.

One morning, she woke up, surrounded by S.C.I. agents – her mother nowhere in sight. She was 14 by this time – her skills and talents mirroring her mother’s. Her mother was a wanted criminal they were chasing after, an important link to a cold case put away a long time ago. Realizing the usefulness in Haneul, they took her in.
