ONE MONTH LATER IN FRANCE

“Madame, dinner is served.” The butler said.

“Tell them I’m not hungry.”

Why do they never listen?

I turned my back on him and walked along the beach.

Then, something shiny caught my eye.

It was crashing in with waves, an empty bottle.

Not one of those mpty soda bottles, but a blank old-fashioned one.

I picked it up and saw a folded paper note inside.

Dear stranger,

I don’t mean to bother you. But I have no one to talk to. My dad recently passed away, so my mother is still in shock. I have to work every day. My mom got fired for not showing up for work, I can’t blame them. I hate my life now. The one I’m going out with just completely messed up last week before prom.
