I slammed the door shut.

How is it that my life is such a mess?

I’m twenty for Pete’s sake, I should be worrying about getting a date from prom and how my hair is not straight enough and is not working.

I have to earn money, because my mother is too heartbroken to get up and fix her life.

I hate her.

I lost my dad too. And now my grades are dropping.

I don’t have time to study. I work as a waitress at this restaurant. But I don’t want to be a waitress, I want to graduate, work with art, literature or architecture.

But no, someone has got to put food at the table and my sister at six is not exactly capable.

I grabbed a piece of parchment and began writing, it’s all I know.

My dad showed me when I was little; we used to do it.

Dear stranger,

I don’t mean to bother you. But I have no one to talk to. My dad recently passed away, so my mother is still in shock. I have to work every day. My mom got fired for not showing up for work, I can’t blame them. I hate my life now. The one I’m going out with just completely messed up last week before prom. I caught her making out with my best friend. So we don’t speak any longer either. I’m sorry for telling you all this. Thank you for sparing time to read.
