Being a translator is not as easy as you thought. The job that you were dreaming about was to travel all around the world, meeting new people, and being able to see the diversity in culture. Well, a girl can dream, you think. Speaking of dream, there's this one dream that you know will never happen: meeting the boys. By boys you mean EXO. Yup, you've been dreaming, fantasizing, and even wrote fanfics about them. You imagine what would it be like to see them in person, to be friends with them. Especially a certain someone: Zhang Yixing, Lay. He seems very kindhearted and down to earth. The kind of guy that is hard to find in this day of age. Well, with the job and social status you have you think it will only be a dream.

"Ya ya ya ya ya ya!", a friend of yours who also happen to be working in the same company as you coming out of nowhere,"Have you seen it? Have you seen it? Have you? Have you?" she's very excited at the news that she was about to give you, she doesn't give you the chance to answer her questions nor questioning her behaviour.

"Keyla, stop. You're too loud and I have no idea what you were talking about." After a while, you finally manage to calm her down.

"You have to see this!" still with her sprakly eyes, she begin to take control of your computer and showing you a poster with Lay's picture in it, "I just saw it this morning!"

24 hours... with... Zhang Yixing??! You rub your eyes and read it again. It really is what you thought it was. A chance to spend a whole day with Zhang Yixing. It's like a dream come true! you think. But there is a problem, for things like this they usually held an audition and it would take a lot of time, not to mention the number of competition you have to face. Your shoulder drop at the thought. You will never be able to make it.

"Key... I don't think it will work out. It won't be responsible of me if I take a time off for the audition or the shooting. Not to mention the competition..."

"Audition? We can work something out. Come on, be positive, okay? I know how much you like him. Besides, you don't have to take a time off for the audition since they will only use an online submission and interview via skype." Your eyes widened at her words. You read the requirement one more time.

Keyla's right. The audition only requires submission of a video that expresses your love towards Zhang Yixing or his works the most. From the submissions they will pick top 10 person to be interviewed and the winner will be choosen by Zhang Yixing himself. This is going to be hard, you think. You're thinking of what you can do to make yourself unique. The deadline is in a month. There must be something you can do.

Back at home, you decided to review every material you have on him. Every music video, interview, performance, event, commercial, and movies. Keyla helps you with the process. Without you knowing, she captures everything you're doing. You don't even realize it because you are too focus on what you ware doing.

"It's okay, Key, I think I can make the deadline!" You said happily. The deadline is in a week and you think you can finish it in 5 days. You decided to do an imitation of every work that Lay has done. You search the costumes online every night with the help of your friend. If only you can make it in on time, but fate decides otherwise...

"So, we will announce the names of people that will be working on this next project. You need to stay in Japan for two weeks. But don't think of it as a vacation, you will be working day and night since this is the biggest project of the year." Your manager close the meeting with a little bit more excitement than usual, "I will email the list of employees that will be working with me in this project. Make sure to check it and prepare yourself." Somehow, there's this strange feeling you have. Sure if you were choosen this will be a huge leap to your career, but that means you have to give up on the Yixing's video.

And your six sense was right, you were choosen as one of the translator that will be going. There's a lot more disapointment in your face rather than excitement. It's not like I will surely pass the auditon afterall, you can only let out a big sigh.

One month later...

"Guess what?" Keyla come up to you at lunch.

"What?" You frown at her, completely oblivious of what she meant.

"Do you remember the thing with Zhang Yixing?" Ah... how can I forget that. You ended up not submitting my video since it's not complete yet.

"What about it?"

"You got in! They want to interview both of us tonight!" Keyla can't help but screaming it on top of her lungs. It even got a few of our coworker staring at us, feeling annoyed.

You can't process what she just said. It's obvious that you didn't submit your work, but how can it be possible that you got in?

"Okay, I know that thought. I know you're confuse. So let me explain it to you." She begin to tell you that she actually didn't plan on submit a video to focus on helping you. But being a photograper that she is (in her spare time), she can't help but capture every moment of you working hard on your video. So when she saw how heartbroken you are when you have to give up on your video, she quickly put every pictures she took and mashed it up with a few dance video and use a file of you singing one of Lay's song as the background music. Than at the end, she filmed herself talking about your story and showing them the last picture, a picture where you saw the email that made you failed to meet the deadline. Apparently, the judges felt your and Keyla's sincerety so they decided to pick her video as one of the top ten.

"Good evening." says the person on the monitor, "you both can start with your introduction."

"Hello my name is Keyla, I'm 24 years old and this is my friend, Mei Li, she's 21 years old."

"Firstly, we were very moved by your video, Keyla. We really appriciate your hard work, miss." the person turns to your direction, "What makes you like Zhang Yixing so much and how do you think you will match up with him?"

You took a deep breath before you answer, "I've been a fan of Zhang Yixing ever since I discovered him on one of the radio program. If my memory's correct, I think he sings "Afraid" while playing a piano. Before that I knew he was part of EXO because Keyla here is an avid fan, but she's a fan of D.O., thankfully." you said that with a smile as you glance at your friend., "I was just really touched by his voice and the fact that he has so many talent. After being a fan I also came to know his personality and I like him even more. I think more idols should learn to act like him because nowadays children are more interested in idols and look up to them as their role model. I also learn to be a better person as I was watching him." You paused to gulp down your nerve. "Oh, and I think he will make a very good friend, if his real personality is the same as what I saw on the internet." You ended the interview in a comical note. Luckily, the interviewer smile along with you.

After saying that the announcement will be made personally and won't be announced online for the winner's safety, the interviewer excuse himself. You can feel your heart racing as you try to calm down for your nervousness. All you can do is wait and hope for the best.

Back in Zhang Yixing's studio, Beijing...

"So what do you think?" said the team leader.

"I think she's a very hardworking and responsible person, I think I will match well with her. Besides, she said she thinks I will be a good friend right? I think I can trust her. She must've been a very good person for her friend to do that." said Lay with a smile on his face while looking at your video. He likes the fact that you're becoming a fan of him because of his music and talent, not only because he is a part of the famous worldwide group, EXO.

*** Anyway, I wasn't planning on using a name for the main character, but I think it will be easier for the flow of the story. I'm sorry if it ruins your imagination. In case you're wondering, I think about the name for a very long time before decided on this one. I want to have a kindhearted feeling to it. I don't know why but I think Mei and Lin/Li/Ling possess a very pure sensation. Then I found this. Hope you like it :D
