‘Screech’

Everyone turns their attention to a little body lying on the road with pool of blood around her.

“Somebody call the ambulance!”

“Will she be fine?”

“Where are her parents?”

“Please help her!”

I hear people mumbling about the accident that happened before their eyes. Everyone circles around the scene as they watch a car hit a girl while she’s crossing the road. It’s not her fault actually. The driver is drunk.

“Joohyun!”

I hear my mother calling me and she goes towards the body; my body. She can’t see me so does everyone. She’s crying and screaming my name. I feel so bad looking at her like that. It hurts so much. But like I said, it’s not my fault. I followed the traffic light and cross the road when there’s a car who drove recklessly hit me.

I don’t know why I’m here and why I’m like this but nothing will happen right? I will be fine, right? I will survive, right? I’m not going to die, right?
