twenty fifth
Baby, what's your sign?
She checks for the time on her phone. Crap, it's still half an hour to midnight. She blows out her bangs. Waiting is really frustrating. What can she do to kill the next thirty minutes? She starts playing whatever games she has on her phone.
Well, she is waiting for the 24th hour. When the date swaps. When nothing changes on the dark starry night, but you know, you just know that when the clock strikes twelve, the day will change to the other.
What is special about tomorrow? It's not her birthday, nor his birthday either. Not their anniversary. Not the commemoration to whatever thing they must celebrate every year. Not the day when she decides to confess her helpless love to him.
Tomorrow is just an ordinary day.
Three minutes to midnight, her phone rang.
"What is it, Hyo?"
"Huh? Wasn't that supposed to be the other way around? It's late. What do you want?"
"Well, what do you want?"
"I don't understand."
A scoff is heard from the end of the line.
A silence is streched for a minute.
A rapid heart is going to burst.
"So?"
"N-nothing. It's nothing, Kiki."
"You sure? Well, that's disappointing."
A clenched fist and resolve built.
"Wait.."
"Wait? What do you mean, Hyo?"
"Just wait. I need to gather my thoughts."
"You have a slow brain. I'm not going to waste my time for nasty retorts."
"No! Just wait, please."
"No."
"Hold on."
"Sorry, I can't hold on." She hears him sigh. "I've already fallen for you."
