Great Hall
Unlikely FriendsKyungsoo is restless and he doesn’t quite understand why. Christmas break is in a few days, so the professors have been taking it easy. He’s already finished most of the homework they’ve assigned, because his parents didn’t allow him to stay at Hogwarts during break. At least, they promised he could return early if studying at their home was impossible for Kyungsoo.
So why does he feel like this?
Jongin hasn’t bothered him for two whole days. Not after the morning Kyungsoo threw him out of his room and the Gryffindor Tower. That had been…his fault. For freaking out. For no good reason. Erhem.
He finishes his apple juice and smacks his lips. Yeah, not thinking about that.
Sehun looks up with a frown. “I’m trying to concentrate here.”
“Oh, I know,” he says with a smile. “That’s why I did it.”
“You don’t want an accurate reading of your cards?” Sehun points at the deck spread out before him.
“I don’t want any reading,” Kyungsoo says, “but I promised you could practice on me, so I won’t stop you.”
“That’s so nice of you, hyung,” Sehun deadpans. He lowers his eyes once more to the cards. Professor Firenze still had him working on divination methods that didn’t involve visions—Sehun’s specialty—and it had his roommate in a foul mood.
Kyungsoo shakes his head and turns to his pet. “Feeling better?”
Hellfire nibbles on cornbread by his side. She her head, ear tufts perky, and hoots. After a few days of rest, she’s made a full recovery. Kyungsoo was still hesitant to take her out this morning, but she seems to be doing fine.
“So….” Sehun bites his lower lip and gnaws on it before letting it free. “The cards either say you’ll die a terrible death or that you’ll fall in love with someone.”
Kyungsoo takes off his glasses and cleans them with the edge of his sweater. “Death would be less painful, so let’s go with that.”
