googly eyes
EludeA blush creeps up on Woohyun’s face as he glances down at their fingers, interlaced. Sunggyu notices the younger boy’s expression and snaps back into reality. He quickly retracts his hand from the other, faking a cough to dissipate the award atmosphere. Sunggyu doesn't know what’s been going on with himself lately. He thinks the General might have hit him a little too hard for him to act like this and randomly hold hands with his trainee - twice! Slowly, he glances up at Woohyun - who had an unreadable expression on his face. He couldn't pinpoint what it was exactly, but the younger boy seemed to be feigning a small smile.
“Anyway…How have you been?” Sunggyu asks. He sits down on the edge of his bed, watching Woohyun do the same on his own bed.
“I’m alright. I’ve been getting better at my punches.” Woohyun says to himself, proud. “Will you be back to training us tomorrow?” The younger boy worriedly glances at Sunggyu’s bandaged hand.
But before Sunggyu could answer, their door swings open, revealing a huge, gummy smile from Sungyeol. The tall male runs over to Sunggyu, hugging him in an instant. Myungsoo follows from behind, a small laugh escaping from his mouth.
“Hyung! I missed you!”
The next day, Sunggyu’s team was back to basic combat training. Despite the faded black eye and the bandaged hand, Sunggyu looked just as strong as ever. As Sunggyu was orienting the trainees on what they would be doing for the day, Woohyun couldn't help but think about the feeling he was getting in his chest now that Sunggyu was back. He glances towards the older male, admiring him from afar. He doesn't realize that a smile has formed on his face, not until Myungsoo points it out, saying he was doing the googly eyes again for his older brother.
“No, I wasn’t.” Woohyun denies, brows furrowing.
Myungsoo flashes Woohyun a teasing smile, to which Woohyun rolls his eyes on.
Quietly, Woohyun mumbles to himself, “I’m just glad he’s back.”
“Me too.” Myungsoo says with a sigh of relief.
Sungyeol turns to them with an angry expression and a finger up his pursed lips, shushing the two. “Shut up, seriously!”
Woohyun ignores the latter and tries to listen to whatever Sunggyu was saying. However, Woohyun’s focus was on his own expression as he tried to not look like he was doing the googly eyes again - according to Myungsoo.
Eventually, Sunggyu is done with the orientation and tells the team to start training with there respective seniors. Sunggyu hops down the tree trunk he was standing on and approaches Woohyun, who was still sitting on the ground.
“Let’s go.” Sunggyu holds out his hand, willing to help Woohyun up. The latter, however, was surprised to see Sunggyu’s offered hand. “What?”
Woohyun looks up to meet Sunggyu’s eyes. “Nothing.” He grabs Sunggyu’s hand and pulls himself up when the older male suddenly releases his hold, causing Woohyun to fall back down on his . Sungyeol’s laugh can be heard from across the field, drawing attention to the other trainees and seniors. Woohyun looks around him to see everyone laughing at him, except for Sungjong that is who looked at him with a worried face. Embarrassed, Woohyun glances upwards to catch a glimpse of Sunggyu’s expression. The older male was suppressing a smile, obviously amused.
“It’s not funny.” Woohyun states with embarrassed cheeks as he stands up on his legs while dusting off his pants.
Sunggyu shrugs, finally showing his teeth as he releases a smile. “It is for me.”
“Oh, yeah?” Woohyun, who was feeling a little too comfortable with the other, pushes Sunggyu on his shoulders which causes the older male to stumble back a little bit as he was caught off guard. The gesture causes the people around them to gasp simultaneously. Even Sungyeol stopped laughing his off. The smile on Sunggyu’s
