The group decided to stay in Baekbeom's place just like what they have agreed on since they are all complete now and put Tao on a safe room with some maids with Kris on his side.

 

"So we need to find a magic flower that can heal all kind of illness and magic." Kai hums at them with D.O on his side.

 

"I think I knew where to find that flower. It was written on a book just what my brother Yunho read to me at night." D.O tries to recall something from the past.

 

"But I though that was a myth. Can we find an existing flower just like that?" Lay asks. 

 

"It is still possible, but something scary is guarding that flower for sure. I need to verify where to find that flower but the book was hidden back in my room. In my old home, of course." The fae answered.

 

"So, you are saying that, in order for us to find the flower, we need to get back to your birthplace then get info about it?" Kris clarified earning a nod from D.O.

 

"Exactly. But that old portal was abandoned years ago and we don't know if it's passable until now since portal do opens or operate when someone or something feeds it with continues magic." Xiumin relays to them.

 

"Uhm.... our place is secured by stones that gives off magic. Unless a certain Fae or fairy allow you to enter inside, it wouldn't allow any trespassers inside." He explains to the chubby cheeks.

 

"All right! I guess we will set out once we've settle other important matters first. You can rest for now." Suho said and they decided to go Luhan which was talking to Bambam's group.

 

"You guys are really hunters?" Luhans asks the group since Bambam and JB already explained to him that the two already leave from their previous pack and decided to join the hunters. They were requested though to do a special job with their pack before they leave and that is when Siwon's group massacre them which remains the two male manage to escape. Now, they are saying their goodbyes with the permission of Luhan who took good care of Bambam as their own and decided to leave.

 

"Yup! And we do great jobs if you ask." Yugyeom, the big pink haired maknae, smiled at them.

 

"We also do other jobs since we can do sleuthing, baby sitting, repairs, you name it and we will do it gladly." Jr. smiled at them.

 

"And you are willing to do any other jobs we want you to do? Just how skilled are you guys anyways? If I didn't knew anything, I'll just think that you guys are really looking for just any job." Chen teased them hut careful not sound that they are that desperate for job.

 

" Well, that is what we called 'flexibility' and thank you for questioning out skills. Now, do you want some demonstration on our hunting skills?" Jackson inquires them.

 

"No need. But, I want to ask you guys, where did you learn your hunting skills? Is is passed on to you or self taught?" Baekhyun asks.

 

"Well, Yongjae and Mark are passed down while we are self studied it and got inspirations from movies or magazines." Jr. beams a smile and they all twitch their eyes.

 

'Are you really sure we need their help in surveying our enemies? I think they are just a bunch of weirdos and noob!' Baekhyun sends them telephatic links.

 

'Yeah.. they are less suspicious which makes them an easy intel since Hyuna can't go well into the base.' Luhan inwardly said.

 

'But...but.. we don't know if they are good enough to be trusted since they've worked with many people. They are not even aware they have weres on their team.' Chen groans.

 

'Let's see about that.' Suho speak.

 

"Hey! You guys knew that we also have hunters here but still need to flourish a lot of thing. So I want to test you guys if you don't mind." Suho asked nicely which they all nod quickly.

 

He summons Kai, Kyungsoo, Xiumin, Chen and Chanyeol. 

 

"So, you see here, we have a mix of hunters here and a vampire so, I want you to guess which is which by elaborating your deductions." He eagerly asks.

 

"Well... at first, we would try to see their reflection in a mirror first so don't be afraid. But since we don't have any mirror here, let's try the garlic one." Youngjae grab it and point it towards to Chen who have a scrutinize face.

 

"How about a cross? But this one looks like a giant elf and not a vampire though." Mark suggests and points it towards Chanyeol who groans in protest.

 

"Well, this one have a dark complexion or bit sun kissed skin. He must be a fairy or fae perhaps?" Yugyeom said who looks at Kai.

 

"But Fae's are myth. Even they are still left, I can't see where his wings are?" JB tilts his head.

 

"Really? But they can retract it. I can also see a playful smirk on his fae. Remember how playful and tricky they are, who knows what ability he has." They start to form a circle in which they are discussing something that is clearly heard by the others.

 

"Oh really huh?" Kai's aura suddenly darkens as he was being judge by the others and Bambam felt the tense atmosphere. He clings into D.O for comfort which makes him more annoyed and he gulps in fright. 

 

"Maybe he is a night fae, or a shadow fae." the others rumbling about.

 

"A fire fae that burnt himself up?" 

 

"Ohh...oh.. I know. How about a coal fae?" 

 

"Silly Yugyeom! There is no such thing as that one."

 

"Hey! Is it me or it is getting darker here?" 

 

The question got them snapped out of the gossiping group and saw Kai filled with dark aura or shadow that are slowly moving towards the group when it suddenly vanished.

 

They turn their eyes to meet D.O holding the bicep of the other with pouty face.

 

"I'm hungry. Let's grab some food, Jonginnie~~ "

 

Just like that, Kai's expression changed to a cheerful one dissolving the shadows around.

 

"Okay, let's go to the kitchen!" They headed of with Bambam and Baekhyun since he wants to keep an eye on the two.

 

'A shadow walker. A formidable ally, but a deadly foe. What a good bunch of guys you have there.' Baekbeom comments as he followed the four to the kitchen.

 

"What the hell was that?" Sehun asks.

 

"Beats me?" Chanyeol replied.

 

"So that is what Kai is. We better train you guys well since you are very talented, of course." Suho suggest and Luhan nods.

 

"Okay. So you guys are already hired for my job. Just don't forget to fill me in with details. I need to discuss some more info's so we better do the private talk over one room." Luhan stands up and lead the way.

 

"He really is going to hire them?" Chen said dumbfounded.

 

"Well, he have plans and we don't. Let the brainy do the talk and all." Lay simply stated.

D.O was now at his old room, reminiscing some past where he was crying and isolating himself for the outside world just after the incident on his home place. It took him almost two years to get out of the room and less than a year afterwards about harsh beatings and cold war with Baekbeom.

 

He is now looking at his sky blue room with big master bed. The room has enough furniture for one person with a huge cabinet, big mirror, a veranda and a bathroom which is just right with the room size. The only thing he have there as his belongings are some of his old clothes that are too far to suit on him, a book which his brother Yunho gave him and a simple penguin stuff toy gave to him by Baekhyun before they left the manor that makes him comfortable sleeping during the night he was having nightmares.

 

The doe eyed boy moves closer to the room and grab the plushy on his bed. The room was clean like it was never abandoned by years. He tried to recall his previous memories, not only the painful ones, but also his normal and lively one when Baekhyun and Mr. Byun tried to pursue him to socialize with them. A push on the door was heard making him snap out of his day dreaming as he turns around. 

 

"Hey! Mind having me here for a sec?" A tall man with fair skin and good complexion appears out of the door with arms at his back asking for permission to the small male. 

 

Kyungsoo wasn't sure about what to answer but to pause for a while, then nods a little with head down so he proceed to come nearer the male.

 

"So, how have you been?" Baekbeom starts to open up a conversation to the other since he promised to treat the other nicely to his brother.

 

The other male, feeling what the older is trying to do, can't help but to flinch at the question and start to froze on his spot. He knew that Baekbeom promised his brother not to inflict any pain or verbal nor physical abuse to him but he still doubts it.

 

There was awkward silence before he responded with a soft and shaky 'I'm f...fine..' from him.

 

Baekbeom sighs and proceed to approach him until they are standing two feet away making Kyungsoo a little more tense and stiff than ever with the plushy on his chest. He lifted his hand and place it on the stiff male making him tremble a little and hitch his breath.

 

"Look! I know I'm the last man you want to be inside a room with, or even want to be with. I'm truly sorry for what I have done to you from the past, since I really don't like the idea of you being our step brother and all." Baekbeom tried to sound calm and not frighten the boy more. 

 

"All I want is to apologize and allow me make it up to you, if, you would like to. But if not, I will understand it 'coz I know that you might hold grudges on me. So, enjoy your stay here with your friends, I will not disturb you anymore." He turns around ready leave the room when a tug was felt and saw D.O holding the hem of his shirt as he face him again.

 

"Uhmm..... I... I don't hold grudges on you and.... I also don't hate you. Baekhyunnie always told me to never stick to much to the past. I have forgiven you already since it was in the past. He also told me not to repay pain with another pain. " D.O said in low voice enough for the other to heard it.

 

"However, I am truly sorry for barging in your house... I guess I was just afraid of other people that time that I took the attention of Mr. Byun off you, and even make Baekhyunnie leave this house with me, so I apologize." D.O bow slightly but Baekbeom prevent him by holding his shoulders firmly.

 

"So I guess, that is apology accepted right? And you don't have to apologize too since that was my fault and that was Baekhyun's decision to leave. And I understand that part." The older assures him.

 

"R....Really? T...thanks Baekbeom-ssi!" D.O looks at him in eyes for the first time of the day since he was avoiding the other when they've enter the manor earning widen eyes from Baekbeom who only nods in reply.

 

"I really wish you and Baekhyunnie would be okay after this." D.O then thought about it while biting his thumb who he thought a little bit cute on his part.

 

"I guess. But I know I shouldn't rush things about that. How about a little snack?" Baekbeom pull his hand down and presented him with sweets and cookies on his hand. Seeing how the other lighten his expressions makes him smile for the treats.

 

'Step one: Done!' the vampire thought.

"How could Baekbeom possibly know that Kai is a shadow walker when we don't know that fact?" Baekhyun hissed while eating some chips on the sofa with Chanyeol, Sehun and Luhan.

 

"Well, it was his ability. It is called foresight similar to Tao but whenever he is looking at someone, he gets to know everything from the past and not the future." Luhan said. 

 

"What the? The last time I check THAT was NOT his freaking POWER!!" Baekhyun shrieks and now Chanyeol pats his back to calm him down.

 

"Easy there! Maybe he tried to hide it from you and forgot to tell you?" Chanyeol dumbly state earning a glare from him.

 

"Man, I've never seen D.O-ah that cheerful enough before." Sehun caught their attention and saw the Fae is busy playing in the garden with Kai, Chen, Xiumin and Kris outside. 

 

They all have flower crown while the smaller male keeps waving his hand along the air with flowers appearing every wave. They find it amusing since it was spring already and the garden starts to bloom so as the trees where D.O is touching every now and then.

 

"I wonder what he ate?" Sehun tilted his head and saw Lay appeared beside them.

 

"Well, I saw him eat a couple of cookies and sweets at his room a while ago....." Lay answered and makes Luhan and Baekhyun widen their eyes.

 

"What?" They both exclaim and they both rush outside the door.

It was now afternoon and the group are now discussing the strategy to use in using to free the captives and also get some leaks about their enemies. They also need to discuss all about how to cure Tao with D.O's said book back on his home town.

 

"Let us deal with the leak with JB's group since you already entrust them with that mission. We will find a way to save the council and your parents. " Yongguk proposed which agreed by the others. 

 

"Let me and Zelo do the check on the underground about their influence there and find some more tips about them." Jonggup volunteered.

 

"Okay, so I guess we are left with the cure for Tao and training for the hunters here. Just notify us like Rapmon's group about any incident or progress on the mission. I think we will start it by the tomorrow." Luhan nods and they all adjourn the mini meeting that they have then proceed on their way.

 

 "See? I told you not to eat too much sweets! The last time you did that caused you to go all hype up for a day and ended up whining about how your tooth hurts." Baekhyun scolded D.O ask he let him take a sip of some fresh squished lemon to contrast the effects of sweets he have accumulated.

 

"But that was because my baby fangs are growing!" D.O whines as his face have some hint of distaste of the lemon juice he is sipping. 

 

"Come on, he is not a baby anymore Baek. Why don't you let him enjoy some sweets more?" Baekbeom took the juice out of the small male and decided to place it away from him making him cheer inwardly.

 

"And you! You don't have to spoil him to gain his trust!" Baekhyun shove the glass from his older brother but he manage to pull it away from his grasp just in time.

 

"If I knew better, you are me look like the bad guy right? How dare you Baekbeom!!!" Baekhyun hissed at his brother clearly seeing his intention.

 

"No I don't! You are just overprotective and paranoid to see I am just catching up and fulfilling what I've promised to you about him. Right D.O-yah?" Baekbeom look at the smaller who nods a little which makes Baekhyun filled a tick formed in his right eye.

 

"Oh no, you don't Beommie! I've known you to well to see what you are trying to do! Now come here Kyungie and we will be preparing for our departure on your home town tomorrow!" Baekhyun grabs D.O's hand while Baekbeom holds the other to make them stay in place. 

 

"I think the maids can do that. Let him enjoy here for a while will yah? Why don't you play with your Yeollie for a while and let me do my job as his baby sitter while he is still here?" The older tilted his head while tugging Kyungsoo away from Baekhyun. 

 

"How about no? Who knows what trick or abilities you also have that you didn't told me aside from that sinful eyes you have!" Baekhyun returns the glare and smirk while he tug also the poor male aside.

 

"Ouch! Uhmm....Why can't you both decide what to do?" D.O whines as he is pulled from left to right.

 

"No! Let go Baek!" The order was firm.

 

"No! Why don't you? Brother?" the other replied.

 

"Ahhh... stop pulling!! Ouch!" 

 

"What the... your hurting him! Leggo!" Baekhyun hissed seeing the younger whines.

 

"Says the one who pulls him hard!" 

 

The group wants to interfere but they are afraid of the consequence of it so they just watch pitifully the younger getting tossed from side to side. That was until there is a harsh pull from the back of the male making the two vampires left dumbfounded.

 

"What do you think you are doing to hyung!? Kyungie is coming with me and you two start acting like the adult you are!" Kai felt a little mad seeing his beloved male being caught in the tug-of-war. He had raised his voice a little before tugging the male out of the sala into their room leaving them all mouth agape. 

 

"He surely have the guts to do that huh?" Baekbeom raised an eyebrow before looking at Baekhyun. 

 

"Whatever!" He snap his fingers in front of him as he leaves the turns to his friends.

 

"You better say not a word about it or I'll definitely kick your out. Understood?" He glares at them.

 

The other vamps just chuckled at him while the hunters who feared him just nod at him. 

 

"Well, we better go rest or enjoy your afternoon since you've got a lot of training to do and we will decide who will go with Kyungsoo to his hometown." Suho told to the guys and they all decided to make chat and watch movie together for a while.

It was 3 in the morning when D.O felt a small tug on his shoulder before he turn around to see Xiumin at his door this hour in his room. 

 

D.O can't sleep due to the sugar intake and decided to sleep beside Kai who was a curled in his sleep just like when he leave the bed and read something.

 

"Umin hyung...what are you.." 

 

Xiumin signalled him to be quiet not wanting to wake up someone or any one.

 

"I...I need to ask a favor." He said in mild form.

 

"I want you to please let me find the flower that Tao needs. Not necessary look it but, I want to accompany you to your hometown now before the other decided to agree on who will join you. I want to be responsible at my action and if anyone will be send to claim that flower, that should be me." He sincerely said to the the younger.

 

"You can just go home after we find your book and leave the flower finding to me afterwards. I promise to..."

 

"No need hyung. I would be glad to help. So, let's go?" D.O pick a small magical belt bag. The one which they used to put in some stuff since it can store many stuff due to dimensional magic used by Himchan on it.

 

"Yeah. Thanks Soo... I knew I can count on you. Now, let's leave before your possesive brothers or someone can caught us." Xiumin was already with his magical bag too before he entered the room.

 

"Just a second." Kyungsoo said as he give a look on Jongin's sleeping figure before he kiss his forehead and close the door.

 

They are now leaving the hallway and successfully reaching the door when a voice speak up.

 

"How dare you guys leave without me? After what we have been through D?" Chen smirks and he was with Kris by now which makes them both widen their eyes in surprise.

 

"I suggest we better leave before we let the whole gang follow us." Kris said and they all leave the manor.

 

"How did you know that we will sneak out of the manor?" D.O asks.

 

"Just a hunch. Since I knew how Umin's mind work on." Chen said beside the older vampire before they reach a certain tree.

 

"Besides, it is obvious to Xiumin's face earlier. So I guess, I want to help saving Tao also." Kris added and they stop.

 

"Hey, isn't this the tree that can show the real you? I remember that tree making me grew horns and so when I touched that tree." Kris remembered the tree.

 

"Yup. Definitely it is." Chen said when D.O touch it to reveal his fae human form.   

"I already called some transportation and we just have to wait a minute." D.O said when a figure in the sky suddenly appears in the sky. 

 

There are big birds for each of them. They are all ready to ride their mount when a figure appear and knocks D.O to the ground making them alert. They all saw who was it when the sky went clear and there is another man standing next to them.

 

"Urghh... K...kai? What are you doing here?" D.O sits up and saw Kai together with Baekbeom.

 

"Why? Why didn't you leave me alone. I hate it when you guys tried too steal my hyung." Kai pouts at the other man.

 

"Well, sorry but I guess you have extra company for now. Shall we go now?" Baekbeom was there to their surpris as he mounted one of it and they all follow.

 

Kai decided to sit with Kyungsoo since they both show some intimate relationship now while the others are in solo. The travel was kind of 10 minute ride and they found themselves in the another forest before they went down from their mounts and bid their farewell.

 

"We're here! We need to walk half an hour since the pegasi can't ride more than here anymore. They don't want to go into the forest anymore." Kyungsoo announce to them as he led them towards the forest without any protest.

 

It was nearly sunrise when they approached a tree near the cliff. They can saw the orange sky, chirping birds and very nice view of the forest. Good thing Baekbeom and Xiumin wears their magical cloak to protect them from the sun. But some ray hit Xiumin's skin making him flinch as Chen grab him and make him closer to him.

 

"This is the entrance to my home. You might not like it but still, you are welcome here." After the Fae said those words, the tree glows making them awe to the sight being mesmerized. 

 

"Come on!" Baekbeom decided to push them inside the tree just like what the smaller did and brace themselves on what will happen next.
