Sungmin's POV

"5...4... 3...2... 1... Happy new year!" everyone shouted with glee.

There were fireworks in the background as we greeted and gave each other a happy new year's greeting. We were celebrating the new year in Siwon's cottage.

"Happy birthday Minnie," Kyuhyun whispered as hugged me tighter.

"Thanks Kyu," I replied as he began giving me small butterfly kisses around my neck.

I could faintly hear the members' "ooh" and "ahh" as the fireworks illuminated the night sky. I tried to embrace the beauty up in the sky, but my mind becomes hazy as Kyuhyun continued leaving butterfly kisses around my neck.

"Kyu..." I said breathless

He only responded with a low hum as he continued giving me small pecks around my neck.

"You know I'm ticklish there," I said with as I squirmed every time he kissed me at my sensitive spot.

"I know..." Kyuhyun replied as he continued to kiss me. "Why? You want me to stop?" Kyuhyun challenged.

I couldn't help but smile.  "Of course not," I replied as I turned around and face him. "Don't you want to look at the beautiful view?" I asked as I heard the continuous sound of the fireworks being lit.

"I already am," he replied as he kissed my cheeks. "You're the highlight of the night that no one can compete with," he continued as he pulled me closer.

"Cheesy bastard," I muttered. 

He closed the remaining space between us. We were in close proximity of each other as I could feel his heart beating against mine. Thump...thump... thump...  He leaned in closer and tightened his embrace. I closed my eyes as I waited for him to kiss me. A few seconds have passed and still nothing. I took a peak an see why he wasn't kissing me yet and saw his infamous smirk. Damn Kyuhyun! 

"Hahaha... waiting for something?" Kyuhyun asked as he chuckled. 

"Whatever..." I muttered as I pushed him away from me.

I heard him say, "Wait... Min." I continued walking towards the other members and when I looked towards his direction, I saw him talking to Jungsoo hyung. He walked away from me and towards the cottage. Okay... then. I guess this has been the worse birthday so far.

"Wow... that was amazing don't you think hyung?" I heard Ryeowook's voice say. 

I looked towards the direction of Ryeowook's voice and he was standing right in front of me. I nod my head in agreement. The fireworks already finished and the other members are now heading towards the cottage.

"I'm sure he wasn't paying attention. He was probably busy in a lip lock with our maknae," Heechul said in amusement.

"What? I was watching the fireworks hyung," Henry said in confusion.

"The evil maknae," Heechul corrected himself.

I rolled my eyes as I heard the other members laugh along. Even though they always teased Kyuhyun and I when it's just us members in the room, they have been really accepting towards our relationship. I was really surprised when Kyuhyun and I told them that we were dating. They congratulated us with a smile and even asked if we were secretly dating back then. I didn't really know what to expect and was scared of being rejected by the other members.

To be honest, I have never imagined myself falling in love with a guy. I never imagined myself falling in love with my best friend... much more falling in love with a man who's in the same group as me. It happened unexpectedly. I fell in love with him the way you fall asleep; slowly and then all at once. 

Whenever we're alone together, it's always different compared to the times we're together in front of the camera. He would still tease me, no change there, but when it's just the two of us, he has a complete personality change. He isn't the evil maknae that has a witty comeback or a sharp tongue every time he speaks. He becomes this romantic person that makes me melt with each word he says. He even acts differently when we're together with the other members.

We reached the entrance of the cottage and noticed the 'Happy Birthday' banner that wasn't there earlier. The members yelled "Happy Birthday" as we entered the cottage.

"Thanks guys. I thought you forgot," I chuckled. 

"How can we forget? We were just distracted by the fireworks hahaha," Donghae said as we made our way in the dining room.

"What do you mean we were distracted by the fireworks? Don't you mean you were distracted by the fireworks, not us?" Hyukjae teased Donghae which earned Hyukjae a well-deserved slap. Some things never change.

"1...2...3..." Jungsoo hyung said. I glanced at his direction and wondered why he was counting when they began singing happy birthday.

Kyuhyun walked from the kitchen with a birthday cake as the other members sang the song. Kyuhyun was standing in front of me holding my birthday cake once the song ended. "Make a wish," he said as everyone became quiet for a few minutes.

"I wish we could stay like this forever. Together as Super Junior and together with Kyuhyun. Even if he can be such an and a tease most of the time, he couldn't make me more happier," I wished as I blew the candles.

"You're almost as old as Jungsoo," Heechul teased.

"Yah... you're the same age as me. We're not even a month apart," Jungsoo hyung replied.

"You're still older," Heechul replied.

"Thank you guys," I said as I began hugging them. I hugged them one by one but within a few seconds, we became tangled in a group hug.

"Hey... how about me?" Kyuhyun asked with the cake still in his hands. I couldn't help but smile at the slight pout visible on his face... priceless. That's what you get for teasing me earlier... hahaha.

"Let's eat," Shindong said as he went towards the dining room area.

I was heading towards the dining room with the other memebrs when Kyuhyun called me. I stopped walking as he approached me. 

He took my hand and led me towards the living room. "Come on Min... I was just teasing," he said as he went behind me gave me a back hug. Damn Kyuhyun! He knows that's my weakness. He tightened his embrace and nuzzled his head on my neck. "Hmm..." he hummed as he began giving me butterfly kisses on my neck again and couldn't help but melt with his every touch.

"Are you still mad at me Min," he asked again as he kissed me at one side of my neck. "You know you'll get premature wrinkles when you frown," he teased as he slowly nibbled my right ear. I rolled my eyes. This is what he calls an apology? "Even when you get old, you'll still be the most beautiful creature I had ever set my eyes on," he whispered as he nibbled the other ear.

I turned around and looked at him. He looked right back at me and smiled. Not the infamous smirk that he always shows, but the genuine smile that I have always love. I couldn't help but smile back. "Even though you look adorable when you're angry, seeing you smile is still the best image I can imagine," Kyuhyun announced.

"Just shut up and kiss me already," I said as I grabbed his collar and making him come closer.

"With pleasure," he said as he closed the remaining distance and finally let our lips meet. I closed my eyes as he slowly kissed me. Our lips moved in sync with one another. The time stopped in that moment and the only thing that mattered was the person in front of me. It was a simple kiss, but it induced a million different emotions inside me.

"I..." I barely said as I gasped for air.

"I love you," Kyuhyun said before I could say it first.

I looked at him incredulously as I tried to catch my breath. "What?" was the only word that my mouth could utter.

"You really are getting old. I should've bought you a hearing aid instead," Kyuhyun teased as he took something from his pocket. "I love you. Saranghae. Wo ai ni. Aieru. Te amo. Je t'adore. Mahal kita," he said as he looked straight into my eyes. He smiled brightly and continued, "I love you Lee Sungmin. I know I'm always teasing you about being old but it doesn't matter because I'm getting old too. We have grown so much. We grew from aspiring singers to being members in Super Junior and we'll continue to grow. We'll grow old together. I don't know and care what the future will hold for us because all that matters to me is the present; you and me in this moment right now. I know one thing's certain, I'll be behind you every step of the way whether it be as your lover, boyfriend, friend or member, I will always stand behind you no matter what."

I couldn't suppress the tears that were threatening to fall. Kyuhyun's never the type to say I love you this directly and this is the first time he said it genuinely. I wanted to say it back but no words came out of my mouth as tears slowly fell.

Instead of saying those 3 words I wanted to say, I grabbed his collar again and brought our lips together once more. Our hearts beat as one and our breathing stayed in sync. It was a simple chaste kiss that held a thousand different meanings.

"I love you Kyu," I said as soon as I caught my breath.

"Happy birthday Min," Kyuhyun said as he opened the box and it revealed a simple silver bracelet. 

He took it out of the box as I held my hand out waiting for him to put it on. He flipped the bracelet and on the back of the silver bracelet, it showed a simple KH <3 SM. I couldn't help but smile as he locked the bracelet around my wrist.

Best birthday ever!
