School Outing - The River
Behind Those Fake Masks (Indefinite Hiatus)
Jisoo's pov:
"Why are you sitting next to me again?" I asked with a sigh, hearing the murmers of other students inside the bus.
Jinki shrugged, leaning against the back of his chair.
"It's been two weeks already since you became an outcast in school. I thought you might feel lonely so I'm doing you the pleasure to sit next to you." he said montone, no emotion in his words at all.
I scoffed, turning my body towards the window before closing my eyes, trying to catch some sleep.
We were going to an outing for two days and one night.
Just my luck, it had to happen after photos of me leaving Jinki's house circulated around school and when I became a complete outcast.
It was hard to go to school everyday with new kinds of tricks and rumors going around school.
I tried to not let things get to me, but sometimes it was getting hard, especially when things were so far fetched that even Jinki got annoyed by it.
"Wake me up when we arrive." I told Jinki, the guy not even answering me.
"The boy's sleeping hall is on the left and the girl's sleeping hall is on the right. If I catch you going to the sleeping hall were you're not supposed to be, you're going straight home, got it?!" a teacher growled, loud enough for everyone to hear how serious he was.
Like people are going to listen to him.
I scoffed softly and grabbed my little suitcase before going into the direction of my sleeping place for the night.
"Eeew, how are we going to sleep? These matrasses are hard like the floor and everything is cramped together." Soojung complained, looking around her with a nasty expression.
"I can't believe we're going to stay at this dumping place. Can't they at least book a hotel for us?" Sungyoung grumbled, taking a step away from the bed she was supposed to use.
I chose a bed in the corner and threw my bag on it to claim it.
There weren't many people complaining but those two and maybe a few others did.
I looked at my clothes, my school uniform replaced by my own clothes: a pair of hotpants and a tanktop covered with a thin cardigan.
Maybe I should have worn something more warmer.
"Can I take this bed?" a girl from my class asked, pointing to the bed above me.
"Sure." I shrugged, pushing my suitcase under my bed.
The girl glanced at me before walking away again, making me raise my eyebrows confused.
What was she looking at? It's been two weeks already since I've become an outcast?
"The teacher is telling us to gather together in the main hall." a random person announced loudly, making me sigh lightly.
"Just my bag would do, right?" I asked myself, taking my crossshoulder bag with me, exiting the sleeping hall alone.
Jinki was already standing in the main hall and looked at me when I arrived.
"Why are you taking your bag with you?" he asked with his head tilted, making me shrug.
"Don't know, I just brought it with me, makes me feel more at easy, I guess?"
Jinki simply nodded and looked in front of him again, making things awkwardly quiet between us.
These last two weeks, he has been nice to me... I guess? He has been talking to me, eating with me and helping me get rid of trash or bugs that got magically stuck in my locker.
"What are we doing in the mountains anyways?" I asked, a sigh escaping me.
"Why, not a nautre kind of person?" Jinki asked, making me shake my head.
"Nope. I don't really like going to the mountains... The beach is alright, though." I grinned, making him scoff.
"The air up here is good." he said, a small smile playing on his lips as he continued to stare in front of him. My eyes followed at what he was watching which was practically nothing.
Is he staring at the air or something? Why is he zoning out?
"You can stop acting like you hate this place. It's been two weeks already." he whispered softly, making sure only I could hear him.
My eyebrows knitted together in a frown as I looked in front of me again, not wanting to look at Jinki's face.
"It's the truth though. I prefer the beach over the mountains and forests." I shrugged, biting the insides of my cheeks.
Students kept filling the main hall and one of the teachers stood at the center in front of everyone, holding a piece of paper, probably his planning.
"Okay, listen boys and girls!" he roared, trying to catch the attention of the chatting students. "We're going to the river because the weather is good. Take your bathing suits and swimming shorts and a towel. Afterwards, we'll be having a campfire so everyone will be helping with gathering dry wood. We'll b
