Even before Chanyeol debuted, Nana of the popular girl groups After School & Orange Caramel was his ideal type.

When he got the call saying he was going to be a part of the new reality show Roommate; he didn't think too much of it.

Until he found out that Nana was a part of it as well.

 

*flashback*

 

Kris helped Chanyeol pack a couple more of his hats; chuckling, "You gotta be careful in there man."

"What do you mean?" Chanyeol narrowed his eyes.

Kris stood up straight; stretching his arms, "Nana dude. You have to be careful."

Chanyeol rolled his eyes, "Are you mad that I get to be with her and you don't?" he teased.

Kris shook his head, "A little bit." he laughed again, "But honestly, you know what our fans could end up doing to Nana. Even if you just look at her, she's going to get loads of hate thrown at her. As upsetting as that sounds; it's true."

 

*end of flashback*

 

Chanyeol laid in his bed; constantly thinking about that conversation with Kris.

Roommate was already on it's 12th episode; and him and Nana barely have even said a word to each other.

It didn't help that Nana showed her interest in Kang Jun out of all the guys; which only brought down Chanyeol's self-esteem even more.

But he knew this was all for the better.

He didn't want Nana to get more hate than she already did; which Chanyeol found to be absolutely absurd and ridiculous.

 

"Hey Chanyeol, it's breakfast time; Sungwoo hyung cooked for us again." Dong Wook peeked his head into Chanyeol's room; giving him a wide smile.

Chanyeol quickly got up; rubbing his stomach, "I am quite hungry."

 

Now that Bom was no longer a part of the show; the house got quieter than it was in the first episode.

She was the funniest roommate, by far, and she got along with everyone.

It was sad to watch someone so happy just disappear.

The arrangement went Sungwoo in his regular middle seat, and on his left it went: Sora, Soohyun, Gayeon, Nana. Across Nana and to the right went: Chanyeol, Min Woo, Dong Wook, and Kang Jun back to Sung Woo.

 

Chanyeol would try to steal glances at Nana; but every time he did, her attention just always seemed to be stuck on Kang Jun.

 

Kang Jun looked up from his plate; catching Nana's glance. With a slight raise of his eyebrows, he set his napkin down after wiping his lips. He politely excused himself from the table; walking into his room.

 

After only a couple minutes, Nana finished up her plate and followed Kang Jun.

 

Chanyeol bit the inside of his cheek; looking down glumly as he poked his food.

 

Out of all the roommates, Sung Woo was the only one who was well aware of Chanyeol's feelings about Nana; and he didn't even have to tell him.

Other than him, no one else noticed how upset and lonely Chanyeol looked.

"What is it?" Nana asked, slightly excited by Kang Jun's invitation.

Kang Jun smiled back at her, "Close the door first." he turned back around, reaching into his backpack.

Nana closed the door behind her; swaying back and forth with her hands in front of her, trying to see what Kang Jun was grabbing.

Kang Jun finally stood back up; taking out a box, turning around to face her.

"Ooh, what's that?" Nana wondered.

He walked closer to her, smiling some more, "I think it's pretty clear what our feelings are for each other.." he began.

Nana bit her bottom lip, "You like me?"

Kang Jun chuckled, scratching the back of his neck, "I do."

Her face instantly lit up, "Really?"

Without hesitation, he nodded his head. Kang Jun looked back down at the box, opening it.

"This one's for you, and this one's for me." Kang Jun picked up a black bracelet with a charm at the end; sliding it onto Nana's wrist.

Nana just watched as her heart began to beat even more out of her chest; "Couple bracelets?"

Kang Jun nodded his head, "I guess you can call them that. It's just something I wanted us to have so that the other roommates know what we feel is mutual."

"That's," Nana smiled again, "that sounds really nice to me."

Kang Jun pulled her into a hug, running his fingers through her hair.

 

Ironically enough, Chanyeol was the narrator for that episode.

 

"Beautiful couple aren't they?" Chanyeol forced a laugh, wiping his forehead, "May we all wish them the best; as they are the first official Roommate couple."

After that, he paused. Wanting the scene to change right at that moment.

"That bracelet is adorable!" Soohyun commented, touching Nana's wrist.

Nana nodded her head, "It's definitely my style too; I was pretty surprised."

Gayeon nudged Nana, "You two are cute you know?"

 

Aside from the praises Nana was getting about her new relationship; Sora was the only one who seemed bitter.

"Hey, Nana?" Sora commented.

Nana turned to face her, "Yeah unnie?"

Sora looked down before speaking, "Are you sure Kang Jun's feelings are genuine and sincere?"

"Unnie!" Soohyun exclaimed, slightly offended for her roommate; "Don't you think that's kind of rude?"

Sora put her hands up in defense, "I don't mean that in a rude way; but I'm just asking. I mean, we all are well aware how much of a player Kang Jun can be."

Nana looked down; she couldn't help but get swayed by what Sora was saying.

Gayeon put her arm around Nana's shoulders, "I bet you were able to change Kang Jun oppa."

Nana forced a smile; looking at her bracelet.

"Kang Jun, now that you've admitted your feelings for Nana on TV; I hope you know that you should start taking your relationships seriously." Min Woo tossed Kang Jun a basketball.

 

Kang Jun & Min Woo had the house to themselves due to the fact that everyone had schedules that day; so they chose to spend the day playing basketball and doing extra chores.

 

"You tell me that all the time." Kang Jun rolled his eyes, "I'm tired of hearing it."

Min Woo loved Kang Jun, but his stubborn personality was so hard to deal with a lot of the time; "Nana is sensitive and she's like a little sister to me. I'm willing to forget our friendship if you do something to hurt her."

"Hyung," Kang Jun began, "Chill would you? You act like I've committed to marrying her already."

Min Woo grabbed the basketball and held it at his waist; "You're still seeing Kim So Eun, aren't you?" he was able to see right through him.

Kang Jun looked around for the cameras, making sure that they weren't able to be heard at the time.

"She's a total 10 in bed hyung." Kang Jun made a face, followed by a "Ooh baby" at the end.

Min Woo pushed Kang Jun's chest, "You're a fcking pig! How the hell can you play two girls like that?"

"Well one, Nana's basically already in love with me; so no matter what I do, she abides." Kang Jun smirked, "She's y though bro."

Min Woo shook his head, "You're setting yourself up for a disaster."

"We saw the broadcast from last week; how are Kang Jun and Nana doing?" Kris asked, half teasing his best friend.

Chanyeol glared at him, "As long as she's happy, I'm happy."

Lay rolled his eyes, "Total bull sht."

"Shut the fck up you unicorn." Chanyeol threw a death glare at the boy.

Kris laughed, rubbing Chanyeol's back; "Chill Chanyeol, we're just messing with you."

Chanyeol stared at the members around him, "Well this joke isn't funny anymore. I don't think you guys even understand how hard it is for me not to be able to do anything to show Nana I like her. I also have to watch her be with another guy 24 fcking hours a day and what do I get? Absolutely nothing."

"Chanyeol.." Kai reached out to touch Chanyeol, but he stood up before he could get to him.

"I'm gonna head back to the Roommate house." Chanyeol picked up his backpack and stormed off.

 

"I've never seen Chanyeol like that." Tao pouted, "It's scary when he's mad."

Kris looked down, the jokes began with him and he couldn't help but feel the most guilty.

"I don't think Chanyeol just likes Nana." Kris said.

Chen looked at him, confused as can be, "What do you mean?"

Kris cringed as the door was slammed shut by Chanyeol, "Chanyeol's fallen in love."

Chanyeol sat in the back of his driver's car; looking up at the ceiling.

"Why am I letting their little jokes bother me? It was never like this before." He sighed, reminiscing on his first scene ever with Nana on Roommate.

 

*flashback*

 

Chanyeol opened up the front door, finally getting back home after such a long day.

All he wanted to do was sleep; but an angel came upon him and made him feel awake again.

"Omo, I'm so sorry." Nana covered her face with her hands; waving cutely as she bowed and greeted the younger boy. "You're Chanyeol right?"

He nodded his head, "Y-yeah." he stuttered, "It's n-nice to m-meet you." Chanyeol found it so hard to build a sentence.

Seeing your ideal type in person is such a heart pounding experience. He thought.

After staring at her for what seemed to be forever; he found the words to finally say, "Are you heading out somewhere?"

She smiled, nodding her head, "I actually am running a little late."

"I'm sorry for holding you up then." He moved out of her way; letting her through.

Nana turned back around after getting passed him; "Apologies for meeting you with a bare face; I'll greet you better tomorrow. Or shall I say, later today?" She laughed cutely again.

"You look perfect." Chanyeol mindlessly said, wanting to smack himself over and over for that comment. He smiled back at her, "Bye Nana, I'll see you later."

 

*end of flashback*

 

After that scene that made some people geek with cheesiness and some people give the Roommate PD's extra hate; Chanyeol & Nana's conversations were almost always cut.

There was a time where Soohyun had bought chicken and gave it to Chanyeol to bring up to Nana; but the editor's took it out.

There was also another time where Chanyeol & Nana rode the same car to an Inkigayo broadcast and even met each other's band members. But to no one's surprise, that was cut out as well.

 

While Chanyeol was thinking back to all those times; he was sort of thankful that those moments weren't shown on-screen.

He was able to cherish those moments by himself; because they were for himself.

Yeah, he couldn't really date Nana, especially now that her and Kang Jun became official. But, he was able to cherish little moments and say that he was the reason for one of her laughs throughout the day.

That, was enough to keep him satisfied.

 

Chanyeol didn't know how, he also could never tell when. But throughout his secret time spent with Nana, he fell for her. And there was absolutely no way of turning back.

"Thank you." Chanyeol thanked his driver before stepping out of his car. He walked into the house, "Chanyeol's home!" he yelled out.

It was as if there were crickets from the sounds of it; no one seemed to be home.

He pouted, about to head upstairs; but someone came out from behind the door and jumped in front of him.

 

"BOO!"

"AHHHH!" Chanyeol jumped, his snapback flying up into the air. He got back to the ground, touching his heart that was pumping out of his chest.

Nana smiled slyly, "Sorry, I had to."

Chanyeol ruffled her hair, "You you know?"

She smiled up at him, "Sadly it's just us two at home today; everyone went out to eat but I didn't want to go because I thought it'd be unfair to you."

He gave her a sincere smile, finding it to be so heart-warming how nice she was; "You really didn't have to do that you know."

"But I wanted to." Nana tugged his arm, "Come, I'll cook for you; you must be hungry!"

Chanyeol laughed, "I don't think Kang Jun would be too happy about this Jinah."

Nana rolled her eyes, "He tried to beg me to come with them; but that's okay. We'll have more dinners together, hopefully all together."

He took a seat at the table, staring up at her with his face in his hands; "What do you plan on making today?"

"What does our little Chanyeollie want?" She asked cheerfully.

Chanyeol made a thinking face, putting his finger on his chin and looking up at the ceiling; "Surprise me."

Nana gave him a thumbs up, "Call!"

 

While Nana was cooking, Chanyeol just watched her; completely mesmerized.

It seemed as if everything she did and everything about her was just perfect. He just wanted to look at her all day; as creepy as that sounded.

 

As Nana was cooking, she put her phone on the counter and clicked "shuffle". To Chanyeol's surprise, Don't Go began to play and Nana just smiled in awe.

 

"I love this song so much. I always have it on repeat; it's actually my most played song on my phone." She quickly turned around while cutting the vegetables.

Chanyeol smiled again, "Well that's really flattering."

He started to sniff the air, loving the scent of whatever she was cooking.

Hell, he loved the scent of anything to do with Nana.

 

"Voila!" Nana grabbed a bowl and set it in front of him. She sat in front of him, stirring the bowl to cool down the food.

Chanyeol pursed his lips, nodding his head; "It looks good."

He reached to grab for the spoon; but Nana took it away before he could get it.

She smiled at him, "Let me."

Nana leaned forward, blowing on the noodles. Without even noticing it; she imitated Chanyeol opening his mouth and trying the soup.

 

He chuckled while she reached out to feed him like a little boy; but it slowed down when he saw her wrist.

The bracelet Kang Jun gave her was there as if to rub it in his face that he could never have Nana.

After he took the first bite from Nana, he gave her two thumbs up and took the spoon from Nana; "I'll feed myself now." he laughed again, "But really, this is very good." he complimented.

"Thank you." Nana said, "You're the first person I ever really cooked for before."

Chanyeol could feel his face heating up; he just continued on eating, while Nana watched him finish the bowl.

 

In the midst of Chanyeol eating, someone rang the doorbell and Nana went to go get it.

Once he heard her come back in and close the door; he asked what was that.

 

Nana shrugged her shoulders, looking at the box of chocolates sent to the house; "There's no name on the envelope."

Chanyeol got up and looked with her; "You should probably just open the envelope; maybe it's for all of us."

"Maybe." Nana opened the envelope; and once she read the first line, she wish she hadn't.
