I found him. I already found the man of my dreams, and he is now sitting right next to me! I’m so lucky because at this early age, I’ve already found my soulmate. My other half. My significant other. Whle some of my friends were still searching for the “One”. I was basking in the glory of having found him even without any major glitches.

I have a very good relationship with Minho. It was a picture-perfect meeting. We were in a party and our eyes met across the room. He walked towards me and introduced himself. We stayed glued for the rest of the night and the rest, should just be recorded in history. Since that night 8 months ago, we have been practically like conjoined twins. No one can separate us. We’re badly in love with each other. Some of my unattached friends tend to be jealous when they see us around.

I know I might sound a bit overconfident that nothing might go wrong with our relationship, but I know that whatever obstacle we might get into, we would be able to face and handle them together. That was how sure I was that he is the one for me.

“Wow, Minho! Congratulations on your monthsary. I’m really jealous with the two of you. Your relationship has been running so smooth all the while. Does that mean, you’re not going anywhere but the church?” My ever curious bestfriend, Krystal asked him.

I glared at her. Is it right to ask Minho that kind of question in front of our circle of friends? Even though we have a very good relationship, I don’t want to pressure Minho on anything. After all, our relationship hasn’t reached the one year mark yet. Even though I really want him to become my husband, I don’t want to look like I was itching for it and it came from my mouth or my bestfriend’s mouth.

There are times when I’m imagining things like I’m walking on an aisle and Minho is waiting for me on its end. But somehow, I do feel that he is not yet ready for marriage. To be honest, everytime that he speaks, if it’s not sweet things and how much he loves me, it would just be his work. Don’t get me wrong, he also talks about his future and he wants me to be with him someday, that’s why I’m not that worried. I know that time will come, he will surely realize that we need to get married also. For now, his priority is his work being an engineer. Maybe, if he’s already stable with his work and life, we will talk about our plans for marriage.  

I do support him in all the things that he does. I’m just 24 and Minho is 27, we’re still very young. There’s no reason for me to panic. I just think that we still need to enjoy each other’s company. But if I were to be completely honest, at the back of my mind, I couldn’t help but wonder what is his real stand on marriage. I’m very interested on what he’ll answer.

Minho looked at me passionately. I swear I still have butterflies in my stomach every time he looks at me like that. Minho is an epitome of a boy-next-door kind of guy. With his semi-wavy hair, a perfect smile and sparkling eyes, he would surely take any girl’s breath away. He wouldn’t also say that he’s not lucky to have me. Others frequently comment that my beauty is beyond ordinary. I may audition to be a celebrity or join beauty pageants with my looks. Minho and I are such a perfect match, if you just ask other people. 

“Marriage is the last thing in our minds, right Sulli?” He answered as he squeezed my hand.

I was a bit disappointed with his response. Even if I was expecting that answer, I couldn’t help but feel a tiny twinge of pain. Although he was not known to be the most romantic guy, I was still hoping that he would catch me off guard and surprise me with a sudden proposal. But since I don’t want to let him know my real feelings, I just smiled and agreed with what he just said. It’s better to make our friends believe that we have the same stand on certain things.

“Of course, it’s still early to talk about marriage. One more, I’m still not ready to give up my single life. Marriage can wait and we really have t make sure that we’re already ready to have such kind of commitment.” I agreed. I smiled although a big part of my heart is already aching.

Krystal looked at me with such confused expression. We always talk with each other and I would always share to her that I really want to be married already. I just shrugged my shoulders so that she’ll stop with her assumptions. It’s hard to argue especially if we’re in front of my boyfriend and our friends.

I just had a peace of mind when the topic changed.  We were 8 in the group. My bestfriends Krystal, Yoona and Suzy are there while Minho’s besfriend Taemin is also there. He also brought Onew and Victoria with him, also his friends who are already engaged. In fact, the reason we were really out was to celebrate Onew and Victoria’s looming nuptials. It’s like they just added Minho and I’s monthsary.

Krystal excused herself and went to the comfort room. She texted me a minute after to go after her. I stood up and told them that I’ll be right back and went to the girls’ comfort room as well. There is no one inside when Krystal and I went inside.

“What gives?” She asked me. Her hands are on her hips and she looks really ready for our upcoming confrontation.

“What do you mean?” I asked her back.
