Sunny walked into class slowly, her mind still trying to wrap around the strange events that occurred in the forest. The shining red color of the wolf haunted her dreams, but comforted her at the same time. There was some connection, but to what? She wracked her brain several times a day, but she became no closer than when she saw the wolf for the first time. Although she was told to not think of Kris, she couldn’t help but wonder if he was okay. Before she out, she saw the wolf’s claws dig into his chest, the bright white of his uniform stained with patches of dark red. She saw long scratches on his arms and face, a deep red forming in his eyes. However, she felt her heart quicken as she remembered his breath on her lips. He was going to kiss her. And she was going to let him. Thinking about it made her blush, but made her upset at the same time.

She sat patiently as she waited for Xiumin to enter the classroom. She inferred that Kris wouldn’t attend class considering he was probably in critical condition, but when the professor closed the door and began teaching, she couldn’t help but worry about Xiumin’s sudden absence. ‘Is he sick?” she thought as she struggled to keep up with the teacher.

And so all her classes went on like that. No Xiumin, no Kris, and no energy to attempt learning. She was filled with a strange giddiness as she heard the bell of the last class ring. She was a bit disappointed for not being able to concentrate on any of her classes, but she wanted nothing more than a long nap and a nice meal.

Walking into her dorm, she sighed deeply and rested on the couch in front of the television. Tossing her bag onto the floor, she began to take her hair out of the bun it was in and let out another sigh, never had she felt so tired. Just as she closed her eyes, she was interrupted by a soft voice behind her.

“Sunny?” the sound shocked her as she jumped up and quickly turned around, the remote control held firmly in her hand as she held it up in defense. She felt her tension dispense as her eyes settled onto Xiumin’s wide eyes. Giggling at her behavior, she invited Xiumin to sit next to her as she placed the remote down.

“What are you doing here? Why weren’t you in class today?” asked Sunny as she turned her body towards the shy boy. Before he could reply, she quickly shot up and exclaimed, “Oh, I’ll get you something to drink! Please continue though, I was really worried about you.”

Xiumin watched as Sunny walked past him and towards the small kitchen. His cheeks flushed with a bright pink as he thought about Sunny’s words. She was worried about him? She cared for him enough to worry about him? His shyness was soon overpowered by his sudden happiness, but the memory of Sunny and Kris urgently wrapped itself around his heart.

“Xiumin?”

“Huh? Oh! Um, I was injured, but it wasn’t too severe. I’ll be going back to class tomorrow so no need to worry anymore,” said Xiumin as he accepted the glass of water Sunny prepared for him. He smiled at the cute heart covered cup in her hands.

“You were injured? How? Where?” asked Sunny as she placed her cup down and scooted closer to Xiumin. He felt his heart beat louder as he struggled to stop himself from twitching in nervousness.

“It wasn’t anything important. I came because I was worried about you. I heard you fainted,” said Xiumin as he tried to remain calm. The closeness of Sunny’s body filled him with an uncomfortable amount of anxiety.

He watched as her eyes fell towards her slippers, her hands now occupying the cup once again. “You won’t believe me if I tell you what happened,” she said as she bit her lip. Xiumin felt a guilty sourness travel up his throat as he realized that Sunny hadn’t realized that the wolf that attacked Kris was him. Brushing his hand through his hair, he wondered whether or not he should tell her.

“Wait a minute,” said Sunny as she placed her cup down. Her face was no longer filled with softness, but instead showed an abundance of emotional darkness. She brought her face closer towards Xiumin’s hair as she felt her heart race in curiousness. “That wolf’s fur...Xiumin don’t tell me...”

“I’m sorry, but-“

“How could you do something so stupid?! Xiumin you hurt Kris for no reason! I had no idea you could be so...scary,” said Sunny as she struggled to release all her feelings in words. She felt betrayed, lied to, and frightened. She wanted Xiumin to leave her dorm and she never wanted to speak to him again. She stood up and took a few steps away from Xiumin as she studied his shocked face, but soon felt her heart ache. He was so nice and innocent, how could he do such a thing? “Get out!” she screamed as she unsuccessfully tried to retain her confusion and shock.

“Sunny wait,” started Xiumin as he placed his cup down before standing up. He tried to walk closer to Sunny, but sighed when she took a step back, her face expressing all the things he didn’t want to see. “I’ll leave, but...remember that golden color in Kris’s eyes?” He waited for her to answer, but soon realized that she had no intention to do anything of the sort. He sighed before continuing, “Wolves eyes change color depending on their feelings and I did some research and...”

“And what?” asked Sunny as she brought her hands up to her arms. She remembered seeing his eyes change into a beautiful golden hazel color, but never took much notice. The memory brought back the imagine of Xiumin’s eyes. They were usually plain and brown, but she remembered glancing and seeing a tinge of blue in his eyes. It was a very pretty blue too; an icy light blue.

“That color means greed and pride. Sunny I think he’s hiding something and I’m sorry, but I just don’t want you getting caught up with someone like that,” confessed Xiumin as he brought his eyes up towards hers. He watched as her eyes fell, but he could detect the disappointment and confusion in her face as she wondered why Kris’s eyes would turn to such a color. ‘Why would he feel greed and pride before...kissing me?’ thought Sunny as she heard Xiumin sigh. She watched as he walked towards the door, his head low as his lips formed a slight frown.

“Wait, Xiumin,” started Sunny as she quickly took a step closer towards the man. He turned around, his eyes wide as he mentally prayed for Sunny’s forgiveness. “When a wolf’s eyes turn blue...what does that mean?” she asked as she looked down towards the floor, shyness engulfing her body.

Xiumin’s eyes grew wide as he felt a tingly heat make its way onto his neck. “I-it means that the wolf is in love.”
