Chapter Six: Fainting
Her eyes widened in shock, stunned to anything for a moment until she began to hear the babies starting to cry.
“Omoni! (Mommy),” Luhan cried, tears streaming down his face as he and the other two sat straight up in the bed. Julie turned, looking at the crying boys that crawled towards her, arms wide open as if a monster was going to get them.
She opened her arms, pulling them all into her, shushing them as best she could, the room echoing their cries. She tried and tried, but they would not stop. Eventually, she picked all three of them up and carried them down the stairs, and to the front door to get whatever was left outside the door at eleven o’clock at night. They all squirmed, though; Xiumin working his way to the back of Julie, Luhan moving more onto her hip, and Kris moving to her other hip. They clung onto me after that, putting their heads either in the crook of her neck or (weirdly enough) under her hair.
When she finally got down the stairs and almost to the door, she heard screaming and crying as if from a baby. She froze for a second, not being able to process that there may be another baby of hers outside in the freezing cold weather. Maybe having a house near the ocean and a forest wasn’t the best idea, the thought crossing her mind for only a second before her legs began to move again. She walked to the door, feeling numb. She could feel the boys snuggling closer to her, also waiting for her to open the door. She opened the door and looked down.
There was a basket, just like the ones before, but with a thicker blanket covering the said basket as if trying to keep the baby warm. Julie quickly picked up the basket, hearing the child begin to cry all over again. She didn’t pay attention to it though, only to how heavy the basket was how she was going to deal with all the babies the next day. She put the basket on the table, setting the boys down on the table as well. Once they were on the table, she pulled off the blue blanket, slowly. Once the entire blanket was off, she gasped at the sight…and then fainted
