An Alternative Universe

"I'm sorry Ji, she left and I don't think she will come back." These were the words that Bae said to Jiyong, when he ran towards him. His face was sweating, his breathing became heavy and his heart was beating like never before. He was looking for Chaerin for hours.. and he still doesn't find her. 

"Where is she?" Jiyong asks himself, lifting his head and wiping the sweat from his forehead as he was walking the streets, looking for his girlfriend.

Chaerin is crying in her bed, hugging her pillow. Her heart is broken into pieces. At the party, she saw her boyfriend hugging her ex, and he even pulled out a ring. An engagement ring, to be exact. She just thinks that he wants go back to her. Although it hurts, he has the right to be happy and she shoudn't take his happines away. Even if that happines is not when he's with her, she loves him enough to let him go if that's what he wish. Then, she thinks about their baby.. Chaerin just found out that she is one month pregnant. She wants to tell him but.. Is that a good idea? Or it is just going to ruin everything?
No, he has to move on with his life and be happy.. if that means moving away from him.

"Baby, I'm sorry, but daddy has the right to be happy. I'll leave him, and I'll go away. I just hope that this will be for the best." Chaerin said, her tummy.She dries her tears and gets out of bed, pulling a suitcase and throwing some things in it, including some gifts which were from him.

Chaerin plans to leave tonight.. even if she doesn't know where is she going and doesn't want to tell anyone about this. They are going to find about this later, anyway. After finishing the bags, her phone begins to vibrate in the bed. She sighed and decides to not give to much importance. Maybe is Jiyong.. Yes, Dara had told her that Jiyong was looking for her because he wanted to talk. In the end, Chaerin picks up the phone. There are a vocal message from Dara.

"Chae, where are you? Bae told me that you had left the party. Are you okay? I'm really worried, please call me when you hear the message."

She feels how her tears are running for her cheek and calls Dara. Her friend is really worried about her and she deserves an explication at least.

"Chae, thanks goodness! I was so worried about you. Where are you?"

"I'm in my house."

"Ohh, fortunately.  If you are with Jiyong, I will be more calm. I had.." Dara doesn't finish her sentences because Chaerin cuts her.

"No. I'm in my parent's house and Jiyong is not with me. Look Dara.. Don't tell anyone about it, okay? I'm going to leave the city tonight."

"Where are you going?"

"I'll tell you later.. But please don't tell anyone. I don't know when I'm going to come back."

"What? Wait.."

"Sorry.. It's better that way." Chaerin cuts her again and hangs up the phone, takes her bags and leaves the house. She opts for not tell her family about this, but write them a farewell latter.

"What's wrong? Was it Chaerin?" Bae asks Dara, when he sees her sitting up in the bed, confused. Dara drops the phone and takes a deep breath. He sits beside her.

"She is leaving.."

"Who? Chaerin? Where is she going?"

"I don't know.. She asked me to not tell anyone. I'm really worried, what's going on here?"

"Chaerin told me that she is going to leave.. She was crying, I wanted to ask her what happened but I had no time, she was very fast. After this, Jiyong ran towards me, I told him about this and he started looking for her. But I don't know what happened between them exactly."

"I hope everything will be fine. I'm afraid!" Dara says and lies down on the bed, closing her eyes and thinking. Bae sighs and lies beside her, trying to sleep. The situation is worring her a lot. She knows Chaerin and it's obvious that something happened between she and Jiyong. Had they fought? But how grave is it for her to drop everything and leave?

"Should I tell Jiyong? No, Chaerin told me clearly that on one has to know about this.. Is her decision and I have to respect it." Dara repets these words in her head, over and over again. She hopes that her friend is right..

"Hunchae!!" Jiyong shouts upon entering his apartment. He was expected to find Chaerin here but there is no response from her. Frustrated, he drops himself on the floor, running his hands through his hair. He needs to find her.

Jiyong recalls what he had done these days.. Yes, Chaerin acted a little more strange than usual, but every time he asked her if everything is all right,  she just nodded with a little smile on her face.

They are in one of his favorite restaurants. The both of them have the day off and want to enjoy it together.

"Is something wrong?" Jiyong asks his girlfriend, seeing that she has barely touched the food. She has a pale face and a extremely strange behavior. 

"No Oppa, It's nothing. You don't need to worry." This is the simple answer that he can hear from her. Although she doesn't feel very good."I'm not hungry." She says again and he looks at her. 

"But you have not eaten anything today." And it's true, she has not eaten anything. Yesterday, Dara asked her if she's okay, but she was not. Bom even has asked her some weird questions...

"Oppa, I'm fine."

"Why didn't you tell me that you are sick?" Jiyong asks angry, when he brings Chaerin home and lies her on the bed. Bom had called him, saying that they found her faint in the bathroom and he immediately went looking for her, to take her home.

"I was okay this morning. I think it is because I haven't eaten anything yet.."

"So you don't eat. Come on Chae, I have to take care of you like a little girl!!" Jiyong says, looking at her,desperate. Chaerin sighs. 

"You don't have to aware of me every moment, I can take care of myself."

"Well, it seems like you can't."

"And I haven't asked for your help, you can go if you want to." Chaerin answers and turns in the bed, covering herself with the blankets. Yes, Jiyong is mad at her. But he sits beside his girl, hugging her from behind.

"Baby, I'm sorry. But I'm really worried, I don't want anything bad to happen to you." Jiyong hugs her tightly and supports his chin on her shoulder.

"I'm fine, oppa." she says it again.

Dara turns over her bed, unable to sleep. Just knowing that something bad is about to happen, doesn't let her sleep peacefully. She has the feeling that something bad is about to happen and she has to act fast. Without thinking more times, Dara picks up the phone and dials Jiyong.

"Jiyong..." Dara tries to say but he cuts her.

"Ahh noona. Sorry, I thought you might be... Okay, whatever." Jiyong says, disappointed. He was waiting for a call from Chaerin, he can't stop thinking about her.

"Listen.. Maybe what I'm about to do is not the most indicated, it may be too late, but.." she says and pauses to think again.

"Tell me what happens, you're scaring me!"

"Chaerin is going to leave the city tonight. I don't know where is she going, but please go and find her before it's too late." Jiyong freezes at her words. He thanked her for the call and goes to search for his car. He thinks why she has take this decision..

Chaerin is in the airport waiting for her flight. She had talked with one of her cousins to help her until she will can find a house and a job. She thought about is several times and maybe yes, it is better to stay away from Jiyong and let him to find his own happiness. 
A man sits beside her. He has tears in his eyes, while his hands hold a couple of photos. She gets curious and approaches him.

"Is everything all right, Sir?" she asks, looking at the pictures and then at the man.

"Yes Miss, don't worry. I'm sorry, it's just that I'm very excited."

"Can I ask why?" then the man approaches her, showing her the photos.

"She's my daughter, she just turned 5 years old. His mother and I have divorced when she was born, so she has taken her away from me. After all this time, my ex-wife allowed me to meet her."

"So it's the first time you meet your daughter?"

"Yes, I'm so happy. Finally I'll be able to hug her and show her how much she means to me."

Chaerin thinks about her baby.. he or she also is going to grow up without meeting his father. 

"The most painful for a parent it to be away from his child. You seem to be very young, I don't think you have any."
