Description
15 years old Park Mi Woo was always different from the children at the orphanage. They seemed too happy for her liking. Instead, Mi Woo was always sad. Well, at least she felt that way. The caretakers at the orphanage seemed to care too much about Mi Woo which is the main reason why she keeps herself cooped up in her room all the time. The caretakers started to despise Mi Woo when she took their efforts for granted and nicknamed her 'Different'. Little did they know how different she was.
Foreword
Mi Woo hurriedly finished her tiny bit of rice and gulped down a mouthful of water before she raced up the old creaking stairs into her bedroom. Her stomach rumbled from the lack of food but Mi Woo convinced herself she wasn't hungry. Well she was always hungry, until the bunch of tall girls who seemed liked models rather than students talked to Mi Woo about her size.
Mi Woo stood in front of the rusty mirrors once more as she did after every meal. Or snack in her case. She pulled up her shirt and ran her bony fingers over her flat stomach.
40kg
To Mi Woo, 40kg seemed to be too much. It's too much. I'm still fat. She raced into the tiny bathroom and opened the first few drawers in search of her "little friend" as she called it. She took out the little blade with a cry of victory. She slid the blade over her velvet line decorated wrist a few times, decorating it even more. She rested her back against the cupboard and slid down until she sat on the floor. She dropped the blade and sobbed as the drops of blood tinted the bleach white floor. To everyone else, cutting was wrong. To Mi Woo, cutting was her escape. Because she was different.
