Narrator’s POV

“Hey geekie. How’s life? Earned an inch taller?” Kwanghee, one of the bullies of the school, high fived his friends while laughing.

“Neh. I bet he grows backwards.” Jo kwon, the other bully, patted the hair of their victim while grinning.

Do Kyungsoo, junior student of Seoul High, just sat there while fixing his things in his bag, not minding the bullies laughing like hyenas around him. He was already used to it for the previous years, his mean classmates made him their source of ‘fun’. Fun, which means to bully him. Kyungsoo just sighed and continued doing his stuff ignoring the beasts laughing hard.

Another year of pure hell? And this is just the first day. What’s life?

Why not him? When God showered height in the world, he was nowhere to be found. Plus his damn eyesight was also a problem making him wear big eyeglasses which made him an epitome of nerds and geeks. The only thing he thinks his advantage is his brains. Yeah, when God showered intelligence, he was fully informed with arms wide open to receive it. But……. glasses plus brains? Geek indeed.

Kwanghee was kinda pissed because Kyungsoo was just ignoring them so an idea came in his mind. While their victim was busy of whatever he was doing, he suddenly grabbed Do’s eyeglasses and raised it up high out of the poor boy’s reach.

“Come and get it shortie! Come and reach for it, IF you can.” All off their classmates were laughing while Kyungsoo, now at his feet, jumping and reaching hard for his glasses.

“Damn Kwanghee. Please stop this non sense and give it back to me.” It was even harder for him for he can’t see clearly. He was about to reach the glasses but Kwanghee tossed it to Jo Kwon.

The classroom was filled with laughter because of the entertainment in front of them but was immediately stopped when someone entered the room. The laughter was changed with silence and all attention was to the stranger, except for Kyungsoo who kept reaching for his glasses which is now held high by the bully leader.

The stranger was a girl. Not just an ordinary girl, but a girl of pure beauty. She has this long wavy hair with fringe that flows down naturally. She was just wearing plain white shirt, tattered jeans and sneakers but she looked so pretty on it. She wears no heavy makeup, just a pink lip tint and some baby powder. She roamed her eyes and stopped right where a boy, just her height, is jumping hard to reach something at the other boy’s hand. She raised her brow at the sight while approaching what caught her attention. Kwanghee and his friends just stood there staring. The girl got the chance and pulled down Kwanghee’s arm gently and got the glasses out of his hand. Then she faced Kyungsoo and put his glasses back on his face and smiled sweetly.

“This is yours right?”

Kyungsoo, on the other hand, blinked many times while staring at the beauty in front of him.

“dd..deh.. th..thanks.”

Everyone is now on their seats, staring at the girl in front of them as their teacher introduced her as their new classmate which just came from America where she spent high school years and returned to Seoul to continue her studies.

“Annyeong everyone. I’m Sandara Park. Nice to meet you all.”

Whispers were heard inside the room. Some are appreciating her beauty and others (particularly vain girls) were jealous because most of the boys are interested on her. The latter just ignored the attention and reaction she got from her classmates.

She bowed down and smiled warmly while looking at someone. A sweet smile only meant for one person. And that person is no other than ---- Geek boy.

“eh?”
