Chanyeol?

I can’t help but stare at him for a minute. I couldn’t form a sentence or even a word. It felt like forever
before I mustered up the courage to say something. “You look so different…” Really Jorenne that’s the
best you can come up with?  I argued with myself with how lifeless my response was.

He chuckled as he grabbed the chair and said “I’m gonna take that as a compliment! I can say the same
about you, you really look like a girl now and not some tomboy!” he joked. “Aish~ I was not a tomboy.
I just didn’t like skirts back then!” I argued. “Ahh~ so there’s the spunky Jorenne I know! I heard you work
with our company now?” I somehow let go of my nervousness when I saw him smile, it felt like just yesterday
when we last saw each other. I felt like having another flash back moment but all I can see in my head are
pictures of us as kids. I keep getting distracted by his smile, his eyes, his dimple, his ears and everything else.
“Hello? I think he was asking you something.” Unnie nudged me for a second. “Haha~ I might melt if you keep
looking at me like that!” he tried to cover his face with his hands, pretending to be shy. “Yah~ I was just…
I was checking… yah! Stop acting like that! Aish~” Seriously Jorenne keep it together. I cleared my throat before 
talking “Neh, I’m the new choreographer and creative director, and unnie is the new company lawyer.” His eyes
widened with what I just told him. “Woah, deabak! I always knew Noona would be a lawyer someday.” He took
my hand. “Yah~ raindrop,  I’m proud of you! I guess we both fulfilled our dreams but didn’t you say you wanted
to be a singer too? Maybe someday you can sing with me!” He still remembers what I told him.  I gave him a
smile before responding “I guess you’re right, we did! Ahh I don’t want singing to be a job, I want to do it for
leisure, for fun.” I gave him a small smile. “I’ll sing with you only if you play your guitar!”

Before I knew it we have been here for almost two hours, with the three of us catching up. Also, I’m excited
because my next project would be working with EXO. I’m going to be their choreographer and creative director
for their next comeback. “Unnie,  gomawo…” I thanked her.  “For what now?” She asks as she raise an eyebrow
at me. “For setting this up!” I beamed at her.  “Neh, Noona, Khamsamnida!” Chanyeol showed his teeth rich smile.
“No problem guys, It’s nice to see you guys having fun again like the old days when you guys were so inseparable.
Chanyeol if you have any days off you should take her to Bucheon. I would take her but I have no time off.”
Before Chanyeol could respond we heard a commotion happening downstairs. At first I thought it was the fan
girls again but it was two waiters arguing, and weird enough one of them looks awfully familiar.

“Yah! I know them. I’ll serve!”  The first guy shouted. “Ani! I’m their server already!” The other one argued.

Unnie then stood up to see what was happening but I didn’t expect what she was about to say
“Yah! Lim Taehyun?” One of the waiters then shot up his head. As I looked at him I figured out why he looked
familiar, he was one of the guys I went to school with, actually he was one of my close friends. Both Chanyeol
and I stood up from our seats. “Yah~ see I told you they know me! Hey guys!” he waved at us with a big grin
plastered on his face. “Yah, tell the boss I’m gonna take my break now.” He then started to make his way up
the stairs but stopped half way to remove his apron and threw it at the guy that he was arguing with and just
left him with a mischievous smile.

“Omo~ Taehyun-shii?”  I said. “Neh, Jorenne-shii! Woah, I feel so important with all of you standing up like this,
let’s sit down” he said with a joking tone. “Man you didn’t change one bit, well except for slight beard!” Chanyeol
joked. “Ahh thanks, look at you though. I always see your face on TV, posters and even here in our store, your
songs are always playing. Congratulations bro!” Taehyun said.  “Khamsamnida!”  Chanyeol gave him a light pat on
the shoulder. “But look at these two here. Woah Canadians eh?” he teased. “Noona you’re a big shot lawyer now 
huh? I know who to turn to now, if I get in to trouble!” We all gave him a confused look. “Aigoo~ I was just joking
huh!” he scratched the back of his head. “Yah you better be, I’ll prosecute you if I have to!” Unnie joked.
“Arraseo! Anyways look at you Jorenne, you look so different now. You look so pretty not like before, you were so
boyish like seriously you were so unattractive back then, I didn’t understand why Chanyeol liked you.” I didn’t know
how to respond to him, but then again he’s always been so blunt and straight forward that I was used to it.
I guess I was just taken back by what he said. “Thank you… I think.”

“That was a compliment! Honestly you look amazing. If I knew this is how you looked like I should’ve gotten in
touch with you sooner. Plus you should’ve been at our reunion last year. Chanyeol was there and boy did we
tease you.” He started to laugh by himself. I can actually feel the nervousness I had earlier come back, and it
didn’t help that Chanyeol was laughing so coldly. “I do remember that day it was fun. You should’ve been
there Jorenne.” “Hah, it does sound fun, what happened there anyways?” I asked but for some reason,
I didn’t want them to answer me. “We just had fun we rented out a private house with a pool and just had a
pool party. It was fun and even though you weren’t there everyone was talking about you because of Chanyeol
and how he used to like you. We never understood why he did.”  He kept going on and on how Chanyeol used
to like me and how I looked so horrible back then, and how much ‘fun’ they had. I didn’t know if I should be
offended or not I can’t really comprehend the right emotions for this kind of situation.

 Also when I looked at unnie she just has this irritated look on her face and I didn’t bother to ask her about
it because I was scared of what she was going to say. “Anyways now I can kind of understand Chanyeol because
look at you now totally amazing.” I was taken aback by the compliment “Ahh~ Khamsamnida.” I said shyly. ”No
problem but my break is going to end now. Let me have your number and we can all hang out” He said standing up.
“Neh.” I gave him my number and he smiled. “Sounds good! I haven’t been around the city because work has
taken so much of my time.” I replied. “Yah Lim Taehyun, back to work!”  We heard a man shout from down stairs.
“Well that’s my queue! See you guys soon.” He then approached me and took my left hand and kissed it.
“Jorenne-shii I’ll see you soon arraseo?” I widened my eyes and blushed a bit. “Ahh~ neh… arraseo…” I pulled my
hand back quickly. It was awkward for him to do that but I guess that’s just how he is. “Anneyong!”
Chanyeol and Unnie bid him goodbye in unison.

“Well that was eventful…” Unnie said sarcastically, once Taehyun was gone. I just chuckled and said “Yah~ unnie,
but your right he always been like that, I guess he hasn’t changed” I said to her. “I know something that changed.
It’s the way he looked at you, to be honest it was kinda creepy but then again that kid was always creepy.”
Chanyeol and I looked at each other and started to laugh hysterically. “Yah! You guys, what are you laughing at huh?”
she gave us a straight death glare. Chanyeol and I stopped laugh immediately and pretending to zip our mouth with
an invisible zipper, but we can’t help but keep giggling. “Aigoo~ anyways, so Chanyeol can you take her out
at some point?” Unnie turned to Chanyeol and asked him. “Of course, I’m free the day after tomorrow, does
that work for you?” Chanyeol asked me. “Actually yeah I don’t have anything scheduled for that day.” I smiled.

Unnie’s phone stared to ring “I’ll be right there. Ani, I can get there on my own.” She said to the phone.
“Unnie is everything okay?” I asked. “Everything is okay. I’m just needed at the office. It sounds good that
you guys have a plan, but I have to leave now. Jorenne did you bring the car?” Unnie asked me. “Neh, I parked
in on the side, you can take it I can just bus” I said to her. “Andwe, Chanyeol can you give her a ride home?”
She turned to Chanyeol.  “Neh, I’d love to!” He smiled. “Okay then I’ll see you guys later, take care.” She
waved with her free hand and stood up. “Okay be careful driving!” Chanyeol said to her as she was going
down the stairs. “Bye, bye unnie!” 

We made our way to his car and as always he’s a gentleman and opened the door for me. It was just a simple
car ride with us laugh and singing along to what’s playing on the radio. “Yah Chanyeol, do you remember when…”
He cut me off in the middle of my sentence only to say. “Andwe, we’ll save the reminiscing for when we go for
our get away! Arraseo?” He clicked his tongue and gave me his award winning smile. I can never win against
that smile! “Aigoo~ arraseo!” I chuckled. I looked out the window and saw all the beautiful lights “Omo~ Seoul
is honestly so beautiful, I’m so glad to be back home.” I cooed. “I could be really cheesy right now and make the
remark of your more beautiful but then I think that’s a little bit obvious that I’m trying to get brownie points huh?”
He laughed at himself. “Haha, just a tad bit obvious but I would have let it slide. At least it’s an ego boost for me!” 
I joked. “Right, but in all seriousness you really are beautiful.” He said looking over to me. “Ahh~ gomawo.”
I blushed and stiffened in my seat. I can’t help but keep smiling. Then I realized that we are home, I pointed
towards our house and where he should park. “Well this is me; I’ll see you the day after tomorrow?” I was about
to reach for the handle of the car when he stopped me. “Ahh I’ll get that for you, if I’m not a gentle man noona
might take me to court.” He joked. I giggled in response. He opened the door for me and walked me to my door.
“Again thanks Chanyeol, it was nice seeing you again!” I smiled at him. “No problem anything for you raindrop,
ahh~ could you give me your number so I can text or call you later… you know, so you know I’m safe at home?”
He asked. “Ahh~ right, safety first!” I as I gave him my number.

After we exchanged numbers he stated to walk back to his car and before I made my way to open my door I heard
him call me, “…Raindrop…” I turned around only to be caught in his embrace. I can’t even explain how much I
missed being in your arms Chanyeol. I just want to stay like this for a long time, as long as I can hold you…
I can feel his embrace get tighter and it feels so warm and safe. He then buried his face on the right side of my
neck and whispered, “…Raindrop, I missed you, I missed you so much…”  “…Chanyeol, I missed you too and so
much more…” I whispered back to him. I didn’t even realize that I was tearing up. He pulled me away from his
embrace to wipe away my tears. “Yah I didn’t hug you to make you cry. I just wanted to let you know how much
I missed you and I’m so glad your back.” He smirked. “Ah him just happy, they are happy tears. Didn’t I promise
I’m going to come back? Yah~ you better head home before your manager gets mad! I’ll talk you to later okay?”
I smile and gestured for him to walk back to his car. I watched him drive off then after I went in my house.
Why do I feel like I almost want to call him to make him come back? I feel like I miss him already. 
Jorenne what are you saying?! I guess I just miss him so much.

I think I spent the rest of the night waiting for him to call me or to text me that he’s home.
I waited for so long I ended up falling asleep.
