Chapter 4 – Talk to Me

Tuesday, 2^nd of January 2020, In front of the school’s gate, 3:30 PM

In the end, both Taeyeon aren’t enrolling to any of the clubs and Chanyeol also not joining up with any other club today. The two of them are still chatting with each other and it is not just about the performance that Chanyeol had in mind, but they are also taking about their personal life. Chanyeol might not realized it just yet, but for other student that knew Chanyeol from middle school must be confused to see him walking and chatting with Taeyeon leisurely like this. Taeyeon herself seems to be quite open toward him; she is thinking that maybe Chanyeol is not the same with that boy back in Japan. The two of them are not outside of the school already and they are standing right outside the school’s gate still chatting and only when Yuri clears that they finally stop talking and they look at Yuri,

Yuri: “Ya Taeyeon, are you going to walk to the bus stop without me?”

Taeyeon: “Ah Yuri! Sorry sorry….I was….”

Yuri: “Busy talking with Chanyeol? Hehe…”

Chanyeol: “…………”

Taeyeon: “Ah…ye….yes…kind of….”

Yuri: “Hehe, that’ okay but now you have to come with me…you promise me this morning before we left school that you are going to accompany me right?”

Taeyeon: “Ah yes…”

Chanyeol: “Where are you two going?”

Yuri: “We’re going to watch a movie….do you perhaps….want to join us?”

Taeyeon: “Yuri!”

Yuri: “What? The more the merrier right? Hehe….”

Chanyeol: “Thanks for inviting me but I have something to do and I don’t think I can skip this…..”

Taeyeon: “Hmm? Is it anything important?”

Suho: “Yo Chanyeol!”

Suho and the other band members are walking toward where the three of them are standing and they quickly stand by his side and it seems that they wonder just how come Chanyeol are talking with the two of them like this,

Suho: “Wow….definitely an improvement Chanyeol….”

Baekhyun: “It’s good for him please don’t now….”

Sehun: “No wonder that you disappear like that…”

Kai: “Yeah I would disappear from you guys too if there are two girls talking at me…”

Kyungsoo: “Let’s just go guys; we’re going to be late again….’

Chanyeol: “Aigoo…okay okay let’s go….”

Yuri: “Where are you guys going? Me and Taeyeon here are going to watch a movie…if maybe you want to come and watch the movie with us, you all are more than welcome to join us….”

Taeyeon: “Why don’t you just ask everyone in school then to come with us…?”

Yuri: “Don’t sulk like that Taeyeon, the more the merrier…..right? Hehe…..”

Suho: “Ah…that seems to be a good offer….but….I think we all have to decline today….”

Yuri: “What are you guys doing anyway?”

Baekhyun: “We already registered for that event for the principal…we will be performing….”

Yuri: “Oh nice! I finally can see your band live performance after a while already now….”

Chanyeol: “Well…..too bad that you are not going to see the live performance of our band….”

Yuri: “What do you mean? You are not playing live?”

Suho: “No Yuri….we are not performing as a band anymore…we will show a performance that is more into dancing and singing rather than as a band….”

Yuri: “Oh okay….that’s new….because I know that you guys are quite well known in the underground music industry as a band….”

Kai: “Yeah we were, but now we are trying to change our image…you’ll see….”

Suho: “Perhaps…..you want to watch us practicing our performance?”

Chanyeol: “Hold on…..”

Yuri: “If you give us food, the maybe we will consider it….”

Taeyeon: “Oh my….now you are just speaking on my behalf all the time huh Yuri?”

Yuri: “Just trust me in this okay? Hehe….”

Tiffany: “Sorry guys but I need to have a quick talk with Taeyeon here….”

Tiffany and her friends join their conversation and Chanyeol’s facial expression changed the moment he sees Tiffany standing right beside Taeyeon and Taeyeon just happen to catch him like that and she wonders why. Chanyeol is not even bothered to talk anymore and he just turns around and starts walking toward the bus stop,

Chanyeol: “Come on guys, practice time…..”

Suho: “Sigh…fine….it is always like this….bye Yuri, Taeyeon….Tiffany…..”

Before Yuri manage to even say anything to persuade them from leaving, all 6 of them are already moving away from them as they walk toward the bus stop. All of them seem to understand already that whenever Tiffany shows up, Chanyeol will want to get away from her as much as possible and they are not going to question him or protesting about his attitude, they understand how he feels and they just naturally do this every time Tiffany shows up near Chanyeol. Tiffany seems to be disappointed to see Chanyeol immediate reaction to be like that. She decided to interrupt their conversation because she sees that Chanyeol is quite lively and he talked quite a lot with Taeyeon and with Yuri as well after observing them from afar but it is still the same old story, whenever Tiffany is around, Chanyeol will always avoid her and pretending like he never even acknowledge her presence. Taeyeon starts to get suspicious about it and as much as she wants to know about it through Tiffany, she is not in the mood to plan about the performance with her and to be really honest she actually prefers to watch EXO practice but she doesn’t want to give out the wrong vibe to Tiffany and the Pink Generation girls so she just going to proceed with her initial plan,

Taeyeon: “So Yuri…these girls are your friends right? Are they coming to watch the movie with us? Sorry Tiffany but I promise Yuri to watch a movie with her so maybe tomorrow we can talk about this.”

Tiffany: “Yeah okay…that’s fine….”

Yuri: “Sigh….Fany….I don’t know what is it that you are planning right now but I hope that you won’t repeat the same mistake like before….I’m going to watch movie with Taeyeon….do you want to join us?”

Tiffany: “No, you two go on and watch the movie, I’ll talk to you tomorrow Taeyeon.”

Taeyeon: “Sure…”

Yuri: “Fine…just…sigh…never mind Fany, I’ll call you later on….”

Yuri and Taeyeon also taking their leave as they are walking toward the bus stop to catch a bus to the cinema that they are going to watch the movie at. Tiffany lets out a huge sigh and Yoona, who is standing right beside her start questioning her behavior,

Yoona: “So….what is your plan actually? First you want to embarrass her…but of course that plan turned out to be a failure….now you are going to do a performance with her and you are taking this really seriously that I think you don’t have any hidden intention behind it….but knowing you that is quite impossible…”

Tiffany: “Of course that is impossible…you know me well right.”

Yoona: “So what is it that you are planning? I don’t mean to interrupt your plan but at the very least you can tell us about it….”

Tiffany: “It’s simple actually….whatever plan that I am making, the end goal is still the same…”

Yoona: “The same? But I don’t understand how this has anything to do to change Chanyeol’s view about you….”

Tiffany: “Well….I think you all can see that Taeyeon’s appearance in our school is not only surprising…but also it brings a rather weird impact to someone….and that someone is none other than Chanyeol. As you can see…..I caused that boy to be the person that he is now and no matter how hard I try to fix things with him and try to turn him back to become the cheerful boy that he was….I never make a single progress, but this girl, Taeyeon….she is only in this school for a day and she already break that thick wall that Chanyeol always hide behind since that incident. So for now, I think I am going to play it safe and just trying to be a good girl by befriending her…just for Chanyeol to see that I am not as bad as he think I am….”

Yoona: “You want to know something? You actually are not as bad as he think you are….only if you just stop doing these things, ever since that incident with Chanyeol you are only obsessed with him….and as a young girl like you I can understand that you like him so much that it hurts you to see him being like that to you but all these things that you did just trying to get to him since then….I think that is not who you are really…We all know you well Fany….and I think there’s a reason why Jessica left our group….”

Tiffany: “…………………………………………”

Yoona: “Please don’t get offended, I’m just saying what I have in my mind, in the end whatever you do…well….for the time being we will support you….”

Tiffany: “Okay….I’ll pretend that you didn’t say anything to me just now…so let’s just go and plan a performance for maybe one of the girls in our group…I don’t feel like performing twice in the same day so I’ll just focus on my duet with her.”

Yoona: “Good that seems fun, where should we go now?”

Tiffany: “Let’s go to Sooyoung’s house since her house is big and easily can fit all of us without too much problem….and her parents are working too so we can get a bit of freedom.”

Yoona: “Yeah okay, let’s go….”

Yoona ask the other girls to come and walk with them toward the train station which is quite near and Tiffany is being silent all of the sudden while walking with the others. It seems what Yoona said to her somehow awaken her memories and it makes her wonder herself whether what Yoona said to her is true. That she changed so much after the incident that it changes her into someone that is not her real self. She doesn’t feel that way but somehow she thinks about it a lot and maybe what she is doing now shouldn’t be something that she just pretends in order to make Chanyeol notice her again. Maybe she should stop being this girl that always seeking to exploit other girls’ weakness and try to make all of them to follow her order. She keeps thinking about these things while they are making their way toward Sooyoung’s house.

Later on that day, 5:30 PM, outside the cinema building

Taeyeon and Yuri just finished watching the movie and they are going to find somewhere to eat before deciding to go home. Yuri takes her mobile phone out to check on any messages and she is quite surprised because there is a message from Minho. She remembered that she gave him her phone number but she doesn’t know why Minho would send her a text message. She is curious about it and she opens the text message,

‘Hi Yuri, this is Minho…you saved my number right? So you should know it’s me…..by the way don’t forget to ask your friend about joining the gym…and also…about my offer to you to perform together…please think about it okay? Hehe….’

While Yuri is reading the text message Taeyeon is standing behind her and stealthily she manages to read the text message that Minho sent,

Taeyeon: “That boy likes you.”

Yuri: “Wha…what? Not only that you read a text message that is sent for me but you also assuming things that is not true at all!”

Taeyeon: “Sigh….don’t pretend like you don’t know Yuri, it is clear as sky that he likes you…and what is this about a gym membership? I didn’t remember anything about that at all….”

Yuri: “Yeah about that….he asked me to join the gym with him because he has this free trial on his gym…and I told him that I will join if you want to join too….”

Taeyeon: “Wow….you are really speaking a lot on my behalf huh Yuri….”

Yuri: “It’s not that Tae….I just don’t know how to refuse him politely so I am made up some kind of excuse….”

Taeyeon: “Why do you want to refuse him anyway? It’s just joining a gym and you are not obliged to go on the same day and hour as him to exercise together you know.”

Yuri: “Yeah I know…I thought that way….but he also asked me to perform with him too at the school’s event….I think things might be awkward…..”

Taeyeon: “Even more proof that this Minho likes you a lot….”

Yuri: “Shut up……..I don’t think that he likes me….”

Taeyeon: “Really? Well…if you say so…but I think you know that he likes you…you just pretend like you don’t know anything about it….”

Yuri: “Sigh….I don’t know and honestly I don’t care Tae…I mean…I am friends with him since probably in middle school and never once that he confessed to me….I think you are wrong…”

Taeyeon: “Yeah well….you never know….but anyway….why don’t you just perform with him?”

Yuri: “Because it will be weird and awkward….I am friends with him but I am not that close to him to be doing these things….”

Taeyeon: “You two can just sing together….there’s nothing awkward and weird about it….”

Yuri: “Okay let’s not discuss about this now….let’s just get something to eat shall we?”

Taeyeon: “Yeah sure.”

The two of them are walking on the street in order to find any good restaurant but somehow the person that they just talked about now is appearing in front of their eyes, what a really strange coincidence. Right in front of them, Minho are walking with Sulli and she is wrapping her arm into his and Minho is bringing a shopping bag in his hand. Taeyeon and Yuri notice them first and Taeyeon has this big smile on her face and Yuri quickly pinches her in the arm,

Taeyeon: “Ouch!”

Yuri: “Do not say anything stupid or I will pinch you harder than that….”

Taeyeon: “Hehe…..okay okay….”

As they get closer finally both Minho and Sulli also realizes that Taeyeon and Yuri are right in front of them. While both of them are surprised about this but they have different feelings about this encounter. Minho is surprised but he is happy to see Yuri here while Sulli is surprised but of course she is not too happy to see Yuri,

Yuri: “Hi Minho, Hi Sulli!”

Minho: “Ah! Hi Yuri….”

Sulli: “Hi….”

Yuri: “What are you two doing out here?”

Minho: “We were buying some groceries, my mother want to cook for dinner….”

Yuri: “Ah yes I remember that your house is near this area right?”

Minho: “Yes you’re right….what are you two doing here?”

Yuri: “Oh yes! I almost forgot I haven’t properly introduced her to the two of you. So Minho and Yuri, this is my friend, Kim Taeyeon and as you two probably know, she is the transfer student…the one of a kind student in our school, hehe….”

Taeyeon: “Thank you for making things quite awkward here Yuri. Hi there, my name is Kim Taeyeon, nice to meet you. I saw you already earlier in the school right Minho?”

Minho: “Ah yes you’re right…but we haven’t properly introduced yet by Yuri…my name is Minho and this is my twin sister Sulli….”

Sulli: “Hi, nice to meet you….”

Taeyeon: “Oh you two are twins….hmmmm….(she puts her hand on her chin and observing their faces), well I can see a resemblance…but not that much….but it’s cool though that you two are twins…hehe…and you two are really close with each other when I see you wrap your arm around him, I thought that you are his girlfriend, hehe….”

Minho: “Oh no no…hehe….we are really close with each other since we are small….but don’t say like that…it’s so weird….hehe…”

Sulli: “………………………….”

Taeyeon: “Ah sorry, hehe…..”

Yuri: “So yeah while both you and Minho are here, what do you say Taeyeon….do you want to join the gym?”

Sulli: “Gym?”

Yuri: “Yes, your oppa asked us to join his gym and we want to go through with a trial first to see how the gym is like….”

Sulli: “…………………..”

Minho: “Ah yes…what do you say Taeyeon? It’s just a trial; you don’t have to actually join up….”

Taeyeon: “Yeah sure why not….but probably later when I got a fixed schedule of my part time job…”

Minho: “You’re working part time?”

Yuri: “Not yet…she is applying for one….it is because of her stubbornness that she wants to help my parents pay for the bill while she is staying at our house, which of course completely unnecessary at all….”

Taeyeon: “Don’t be like that Yuri…I am really thankful that your parents letting me staying in your house and helping to pay with the bill is something that I should be doing to show how grateful I am…”

Yuri: “See? Stubborn…..”

Minho: “So where are you working at?”

Taeyeon: “I applied to be a private tutor in one of the private tutoring institution and also at the supermarket as cashier.”

Sulli: “Those two jobs are really different with each other….”

Taeyeon: “Yeah I just applied things randomly on the internet and only those two places that are currently asking me to come in and do an interview with them….”

Minho: “If I am not wrong someone in the football club back in middle school is working at a supermarket too, can’t remember though who he is….”

Sulli: “Oppa, let’s go home, mom is waiting for these so that she can start cooking….”

Minho: “Oh yeah that’s right, I almost forgot! Thanks for reminding me Sulli, so anyway….just think about the gym with Yuri and let me know later okay? I’ll see you around at school Taeyeon, bye Yuri….don’t forget to consider my offer….”

Sulli: “Bye Taeyeon….bye Yuri….”

Yuri: “Ah yes okay Minho…bye….”

Taeyeon: “Bye……”

Yuri and Taeyeon continue searching for any food in the area while Minho and Sulli are walking all the way home. Taeyeon seems to be quite confused about something and she decides to ask Yuri about it,

Taeyeon: “So…that girl…Sulli….is she really his sister?”

Yuri: “Of course when two people are twins that mean that they are brother and sister, unless you have some other explanation for it…”

Taeyeon: “That’s not what I mean….they look like they are close with each other like they are dating….”

Yuri: “I think if people don’t really know that they are brother and sister, it is reasonable to think that way but she is really close with him. They always together every day going to school and also going to home from school together and as you can see even when buying groceries they always together. It doesn’t mean anything like you think at all; it just means that they are close with each other, nothing more than that.”

Taeyeon: “Ah I see….I just have this weird vibe coming from her like she is really glaring at us when we were talking to Minho….”

Yuri: “I’m sure it is nothing, maybe you are just imagining things because you are hungry….”

Taeyeon: “Oh well…that might be true as well, hehe….so what are going to eat then?”

Yuri: “There’s an Italian restaurant over there, I think someone mentioned that the pasta in that place supposed to be really good, want to try?”

Taeyeon: “Yeah sure why not….”

6:25 PM, MS Dance Studio

Suho: “Okay good job guys! We will stop here for today, now Sehun you are in charge of the video right? Just grab the memory card from our camera and send us the video of us practicing later on through the messenger, please cut it into parts like I mentioned earlier….”

Sehun: “Yeah sure hyung, I can do that….”

Suho: “Remember guys….even though we are doing good today we still have a lot more practice to do, that is why I want to record us practicing so that we can learn from the mistakes that we made today so that we are not repeating it again the next time we practice. We only have limited time for practice since the studio only give us around two hours to practice but I think that we should be okay for the event….”

Chanyeol: “So we are free to go home then?”

Suho: “Yeah but we are going to the same home since we all are living in the dorm right? You are funny Chanyeol…”

Chanyeol: “Yes I know but I think I want to stop by somewhere first before going home….”

Suho: “Yeah sure that’s alright…”

Chanyeol then suddenly brings Kai a bit away from the others and he asks him,

Chanyeol: “Ya, you have Yuri’s phone number right?”

Kai: “How do you even know that I…..”

Chanyeol: “You were in the same class at her once in the middle school and you were in the same group with her when doing one of the class projects….”

Kai: “It’s amazing how you are able to remember that much when I myself seem to have forgotten about it.”

Chanyeol: “That is because I am smart…hehe….so yeah…do you think you can give her a call?”

Kai: “What do you even want with Yuri? ………………………………….., wait a second….it’s not Yuri that you want to talk to right? It’s that girl….”

Chanyeol: “Ya ya ya……keep your voice down! I don’t want the others to hear about this, it is so embarrassing….”

Kai: “I’m amazed Chanyeol….you really changed so much in the space of one day you know?”

Chanyeol: “………………………….”

Kai: “Okay never mind, I don’t want to mention too much about it but I am really glad that you are becoming like this now….just….be aware that Tiffany was onto this girl….so if you are trying to be close with her….then you must aware of Tiffany too….”

Chanyeol: “I don’t care about her, she can do anything that she wants but I will never see her as a girl that is exist in our school.”

Kai: “Wow you are too cruel….anyway, what do you want me to say to Yuri? I can’t just call her and ask her to hand over the phone to Taeyeon right? That would be weird and I think I will offend Yuri if I say something like that….”

Chanyeol: “Hmm…maybe we should just meet them then?”

Kai: “Didn’t you tell Suho that you were going somewhere?”

Chanyeol: “I was planning to skip work tonight because it is just so tiring after practice but I can do that by phone….I don’t need to meet the boss to make up some kind of excuse….”

Kai: “Oh well….you are seriously one weird guy…trying to meet your boss to say that you are not going to work on your shift….you should have just call your boss at the first place….”

Chanyeol: “Okay…stop lecturing me and start giving her a call….”

Kai: “What if they are at home? I can’t just ask them to go out and meet us right?”

Chanyeol: “Well if they are at home then there is nothing we can do about it….”

Kai: “Phew….I thought that you are going to suggest to me that we should go to their house, okay then I’ll give her a call….”

Kai takes his mobile phone out from his bag and after searching Yuri’s number on his contact list he finally makes the phone call. Chanyeol is quite anxious and finally he realizes something, he starting to act different than he normally is and just like Kai told him, it’s only in the matter of days that he start to feel like he is going back to his old self and the weird thing for him is….this girl Taeyeon is not even trying to bring back his old self, she just being herself and she doesn’t even know about Tiffany’s incident before today but somehow her appearance just make Chanyeol act like his old self again. He is confused as to whether he should be happy about this or not. Meanwhile, the call finally connected as Kai talks on the phone with Yuri,

Kai: “Hi Yuri….”

Yuri: “Who is this?”

Kai: “Oh wow that is embarrassing…you don’t have my number?”

Yuri: “Your name isn’t showing up on my phone, who is this?”

Kai: “It’s Kai…I thought that we exchanged phone numbers long time ago…”

Yuri: “Ah Jongin! I changed my phone earlier this month and there is a chance that your number either deleted or just somehow lost…”

Kai: “Somehow lost? It’s a phone Yuri, not a jungle….”

Yuri: “Haha…I’ll definitely save your number again after this, so what’s up? You guys finish practicing?”

Kai: “Yeah…are you girls done with the movie?”

Yuri: “Yeah we just finished having our dinner here….”

Kai: “I see….do you want…to….hangout?”

Yuri: “Eh?”

Kai: “You see….Chanyeol want to find something to eat and since you were inviting us to the movie before, I thought that maybe you are near the cinema area by now and we thought maybe we can have our dinner together, but since you already ate….”

Yuri: “Ahh….I see I see….I think I understand perfectly what you are trying to say here…..well….we are thinking of getting some dessert after this….maybe you want to join us?”

Kai: “Really? Cool…..where are you girls at anyway?”

Yuri: “You know the GU cinema?”

Kai: “Yeah I know….”

Yuri: “We’ll be around that area, we’re going to look for a place to have our dessert, just make your way here and call me when you reach this area…..how long will you take to get here?”

Kai: “It’s like 2 bus stops away from where we at so maybe around 10-15 minutes? Depending on the schedule of the bus….”

Yuri: “Okay sure, just give me a call alright Jongin?”

Kai: “Okay thanks Yuri, bye….”

Yuri: “Bye….”

After the phone call ends, Chanyeol quickly asks Kai,

Chanyeol: “So?”

Kai: “You heard me right? We’re going to eat dessert with them.”

Chanyeol: “Really? Okay good….”

Kai: “If you are excited just let it out Chanyeol, don’t pretend like you are not excited about this….”

Chanyeol: “What are you talking about? I’m totally calm about this….”

Kai: “Huh….okay then whatever you say, we better take a quick shower here and then we have to go, we don’t want to keep the girls waiting for too long…”

Chanyeol: “By the way….don’t tell the others about this okay? I know that this is something that people do normally but….”

Kai: “Yeah I totally understand, don’t you worry….but I’m just telling you that they will find out about this eventually anyway…you’re changing Chanyeol and in a good way….our friends will notice sooner or later, just thought that you should know…”

Chanyeol: “……………..”

Kai: “Save the thinking later Chanyeol, we have to take shower now.”

Chanyeol: “Okay okay…”

Meanwhile at the Italian restaurant, Taeyeon also asks Yuri about the conversation that she had on the phone just now,

Taeyeon: “Who’s Jongin?”

Yuri: “Ah…he is Kai, one of Chanyeol’s friends….”

Taeyeon: “Hmm?”

Yuri: “Jongin is his real name, Tae….they are in a band so they identify themselves with stage name when performing as a band, the other two boys that are Suho and Kyungsoo, Suho is a stage name while Kyungsoo stage name is D.O but I guess he is not using it in school. Our school adapts the policy that students are free to choose whatever the name they want to be called and it is registered on the school’s attendance. Of course if the nicknames are too vulgar or offensive then the school isn’t accepting it….”

Taeyeon: “Ah I see….so anyway why he is calling you? Is he coming here?”

Yuri: “Yes….I don’t know how many of them will be here but Chanyeol will be among them….”

Taeyeon: “Hmm…I see….”

Yuri: “So let’s pay for our food and then find a place where we can eat yummy dessert…I’ll tell Kai when we pick a spot already….”

Taeyeon: “Okay sure….”

Yuri: “So….earlier you told me that Minho likes me right? Well…I am going to tell you a similar thing….I think that boy Chanyeol likes you….”

Taeyeon: “Well….he is okay I guess…I can chat with him without any awkwardness surrounding us….but…for the sake of my friendship with him, he better not have any feelings for me…sorry Yuri….I agree that I should not close myself any longer and considering to have a close friends that of an opposite gender….but it doesn’t mean that I am looking to date or I am happy that someone likes me and showing it to me….if he starts showing any sign of that….I think I am going to create some distance with him….”

Yuri: “Sigh….”he” really causes you that much pain huh?”

Taeyeon: “You know the story Yuri and I don’t really want to think about it right now…it will ruin the good atmosphere that we are having now….”

Yuri: “Aigoo…okay okay….I don’t want you to get a mood shift because I know just how annoying you are when you are in a bad mood…..let’s just pay for the food and then we’ll find a place for dessert okay? Forget what I said about Chanyeol just now….”

Taeyeon: “Okay, fine with me….”

30 Minutes Later…..

Kai and Chanyeol finally meet up with Taeyeon and Yuri who are already sitting down in a dessert café and after Kai and Chanyeol placed their orders and bring their dessert with them to the table, they start chatting with each other,

Yuri: “Didn’t you tell me that Chanyeol is looking to find something to eat? Is it okay for you to eat dessert with an empty stomach?”

Kai: “We ordered some snacks too; there are snacks on the menu so we ordered it….”

Yuri: “Ah I see….so how was the practice?”

Chanyeol: “Tiring…..”

Kai: “Yep….it’s because that we are not used to this kind of intensity yet, the practice is really tiring for us….”

Taeyeon: “So what makes you guys stop performing as a band and instead going for a different direction?”

Chanyeol: “Well…we feel that we have reached our limit as a band…and to be honest all of us discovered along the way that we have the passion in dancing and singing….”

Kai: “So yeah we decided that maybe we should pursue that kind of thing for our group. I know that we are working so hard making our name for the past few years, but if we are not doing something that we enjoy, I feel in the end, we will not be showing our best to the people and I feel bad for people that come and watch us….”

Taeyeon: “I see….but being passionate in one thing and actually talented in that thing is totally different….”

Chanyeol: “I understand what you are trying to say….which is why we cover each other weaknesses in the group, for example Jongin here is the best in dancing, so naturally he will get more part in dancing while the others have roles in the performance that suit the best of their abilities….”

Kai: “We also have plan to add more people into the group, we have some friends that want to join us but we just have few problems with it at the moment, but rest assured that we will show you all an amazing performance on the day of the event….”

Yuri: “Speaking of the event….have you considered Chanyeol’s request Taeyeon?”

Taeyeon: “…………………..”

Chanyeol: “It’s okay Yuri, I don’t need an answer now, there is still a lot of time anyway until the event….”

Taeyeon: “But if I have decided on an answer, do you want to hear it now?”

Kai: “You do?”

Yuri: “Wow….I just asked randomly but I never thought that you already have an answer….”

Chanyeol: “Well……if you tell us that you already decided on something, I guess there is no harm in knowing about it now….”

Taeyeon: “Okay….so, I am really thankful of you offering me to do a performance with you and when we spoke earlier at school, I don’t think you have any sort of bad intention in performing with me because I can see that you are not even trying to make us interact with each other a lot or having a big amount of skinship, so I notice that you purely want to perform with me without any other hidden intention….however….I….have to decline….”

Kai: “Wow….I thought you are going to say yes….”

Yuri: “But why?”

Chanyeol: “It’s okay guys, I can understand her if she rejected me, she isn’t familiar with me yet, so I can understand that…..”

Taeyeon: “But Chanyeol….that is not the reason why I decline to perform with you….”

Chanyeol: “Hmm?”

Taeyeon: “I decline because the school already set the rules of performing twice in that event…..I already accepted the offer from Tiffany and despite that you all think that she has something bad planned toward me, I will still go on with my plan of performing with her….aside from that….I want to have….a solo performance….that is why I have to decline Chanyeol….”

Kai: “Your reason is…well….it’s totally unexpected haha…..”

Yuri: “You want to perform solo? Why?”

Taeyeon: “First of all….I am thinking of joining the drama club and the other extra-curricular activity that I want to do will have something to do with singing…I checked the student portal earlier and it seems that the drama club will have some sort of like mini musical as their project this term. I want to be casted as the main role in that drama and I don’t want to get casted just because I have the reputation of winning singing competitions in Japan….I want the school and also the teachers to hear my singing ability and I want to showcase that through the event….since I don’t’ know yet about the plan in performing with Tiffany, I figure I should at least be able to show my ability by performing solo….”

Chanyeol: “Ah I see…okay then….you are really something Taeyeon….it’s your first day at school yet you are already thinking ahead like that…”

Taeyeon: “Well…I have the burden of being the ‘special’ student that admitted from outside the system…If I am not performing to what people expected of me, then the school will have a bad name with their decision of approving my admission…I owe gratitude to this school for trusting me and in return, I want our school to be more well-known and who knows what kind of opportunity will be presented to the drama club in the future right? Maybe we will have a one-time musical performance in a theatre someday, who knows?”

Yuri: “I think you all can see why she is chosen to be the one that break the tradition right?”

Kai: “Yeah…somehow…even though you are attempting to do something big there from what I hear….I feel that somehow you might just accomplish it…I don’t know why but you just have that kind of vibe….”

Taeyeon: “Thank you Kai…I hope that not only me that wish something like this for the school, but also the other students….”

Kai: “Oh by the way….you said you want to perform solo right? But that is only limited to singing right?”

Taeyeon: “Yeah…but I don’t understand why you are asking me this….”

Kai: “Why don’t you let us help you? It’s true that we are no longer a band, but it doesn’t mean that we can’t perform for one last time together as a band….maybe we can perform together….you as the singer, and us, EXO will be playing the instruments…”

Chanyeol: “Wait wait! Hold on a minute! You can’t just declare something like that without asking the others first!”

Yuri: “But what he is saying is not a bad idea though…”

Taeyeon: “………………….”

Kai: “Yeah, if just performing one song, I think we have time to practice that aside from our own performance…besides….we can help Taeyeon too right? Performing accompanied by a live instrument will make the atmosphere much better on her performance….”

Chanyeol: “Hmm……..”

Taeyeon: “If all of your friends are okay with this….then I will have no objection…as long as I am the one that pick the song….”

Chanyeol: “Can you ask the others then Kai? Just call Suho….”

Kai: “Like now? I think it would be better that we talk to them afterward back at dorm…”

Chanyeol: “Yeah maybe you’re right….anyway, what kind of song that you are thinking of singing?”

Taeyeon: “Well…………”

So the 4 of them ended up discussing about Taeyeon’s solo performance and even though Chanyeol is a bit disappointed that he isn’t going to perform a duet with her, but he knows that it will be for the best that he is joined with the other EXO members in performing with Taeyeon. It would make things slightly easier and less awkward that way. As the four of them continue their conversation someone is just passing by in front of the dessert café and through the glass window of the café, this person sees Taeyeon, Yuri, Chanyeol and Kai inside and he stops walking all of the sudden and he is staring at them intently and judging from the look of his face, he is awfully surprised and pissed off at the same time. He quickly walk away from the place and after finding a quiet place to sit down, he takes his mobile phone out and he is making a phone call to someone and he seems like he got a lot to say,

Tiffany: “Yes oppa?”

Kyuhyun: “So…how is the mission going dear? You of course still remember that you have a task to do right?”

Tiffany: “Of course…I am still in the middle of approaching her, don’t worry, you will see some results soon…”

Kyuhyun: “Really? But somehow yours words don’t really match with the facts….”

Tiffany: “What do you mean?”

Kyuhyun: “You of course know that your little incident at the school is known by everyone, including that boy that comes to her savior right? That boy is the one that you like so much right?”

Tiffany: “Yeah, so what? What do you mean by my words not matching with the facts?”

Kyuhyun: “Do you by chance know where Taeyeon is right now?”

Tiffany: “Yeah….she is watching a movie with Yuri the last time I saw her….”

Kyuhyun: “Then…this Yuri is a part of your group right? Is she your spy or something?”

Tiffany: “What are you talking about oppa I don’t understand….?”

Kyuhyun: “You need to remember that your group can only exist in the high school as long as you are on my good side…trying to piss me off will do no good for you and your friends….”

Tiffany: “For God sake oppa just tell me whatever it is that you want to say already!”

Kyuhyun: “I saw Taeyeon and Yuri hanging out with her knight in shining armor, Chanyeol and his friend Kai….tell me something Tiffany, what is Taeyeon doing with a boy that just saved her from an embarrassment by your prank huh?”

Tiffany: “Wha….what?”

Kyuhyun: “You don’t believe me? Come and see for yourself….they are at a dessert café near the GU cinema, I’m sure you will be able to spot them easily….so…care to explain to me what is going on?”

Tiffany: “I….I…….”

Kyuhyun: “So you don’t have any idea about this huh? So what is your plan huh? How this does makes me stand any chance to make her my girlfriend? I trusted you because you are a well known matchmaker from back in middle school, please don’t disappoint me Fany, I hate to ruin your high school life….”

Tiffany: “Oppa, please don’t jump into conclusions first! She is a new student and it is not easy as any other students in our school, but I will get her to be yours eventually, it needs more time and effort! You give me a deadline until the end of the second term right? What’s with the rush?”

Kyuhyun: “Because I sense there is something not right between Taeyeon and that boy, Chanyeol….you like him right? Then you should do a better job of keeping her away from him….”

Tiffany: “I will take care of it…you can trust me…I’m sure there is nothing going on between the two of them…since you said that Yuri is there with them, I can ask from her about what they are doing there tonight….don’t worry Kyuhyun oppa….trust me…once I accept an offer I never fail to deliver….”

Kyuhyun: “And for the sake of you and your friends, I hope that you will not fail….keep me updated with things related to her…no more surprises for me please.”

Tiffany: “Yeah okay….”

After ending the phone call somehow Kyuhyun is still dissatisfied with Tiffany’s response and he feels that there is something between Chanyeol and Taeyeon and he is not really pleased about it,

Kyuhyun: “I remember that boy, I think when Suho talked to me he was there and he tried to interrupt me….what a great coincidence, those boys need my help yet they are doing something that is really pissing me off. I think I need to teach them a little lesson so that they will be careful in the future. I bet they won’t even predict that I would see Chanyeol and Kai today…the favor that you guys asked from me….the price of that favor just increased a couple more times than I told you guys…can’t wait to see your surprised look tomorrow at school…hehe…..”

So sorry for the really long delay in the chapter update...since the last update I've caught a bad cold and it is hard for me to update my stories that fast so I hope that you all can understand....

Anyway, I hope that you enjoy this chapter as the interaction between Chanyeol and Taeyeon grow...on the next chapter, the mysterious boy from Japan will be featured a bit but he is not going to appear at the school just yet.

EXO will run into trouble with Kyuhyun and I will reveal what their request to Kyuhyun is. Tiffany and Taeyeon will meet up too to discuss about their performance, can anyone guess what kind of performance that they will display on the event? I'm sure it's not that hard to guess... :)
