Joonmyun was thinking about the past and then remembered how he met Yixing. It was a long time ago, but he still remembered it crystal clear.

It was the autumn of 1950, a few years into the Korean war. Joonmyun had lived as a vampire for a while by then. He wandered around the decaying corpses of the soldiers from both sides of the war. He could smell the rotting of the human flesh and the burning of buildings and trees. However he could hear a very clear but irregular heart beating in the midst of the dead. He scanned the area and saw a soldier, lying amongst the corpses, not quite dead. He walked to him and saw that he was of the Chinese that had helped the North Koreans along with the Soviet Union. He looked quite young and looked as though he was barely holding onto life.

Joonmyun was unlike many vampires. He was very caring of both vampires and humans alike. His house was far away from all the commotion and was in a very peaceful area. He took the soldier back to his home. He changed the soldier's clothes and treated all the wounds with care. He had learned from a human how to cook. So he cooked up some simple congee and brought it to the soldier. When the human woke up, of course, he ate it until the last spoonful. He was grateful for the meal and the care from Joonmyun.

As the soldier stayed to recover, Joonmyun taught him basic Korean. He knew that once the war was over that the soldier would no longer be able to return to his home country. Joonmyun later found out that his name was Zhang Yixing. They exchanged conversation quite well by now of course. By winter, the two of them were able to have full length conversations with one another with no problems. Yixing had fully recovered and had decided to stay with Joonmyun.

3 years later, when the war had ended, Joonmyun and Yixing had a very serious conversation. It involved Yixing asking about how Joonmyun's looks never seemed to change. Of course, it also included why Joonmyun never ate either. This was when Joonmyun explained to Yixing about himself. He was ready for Yixing to run away and never to see his face again, but instead, he did just the opposite.

Yixing embraced Joonmyun and accepted him. He didn't care what Joonmyun was, but he did ask for something more, "Make me like you, so we can live together. Forever, Joonmyun." Joonmyun was of course surprised by this. But that night, he granted that request. They were both happy that night, loving the fact that they didn't ever have to worry again. There was something else that surprised Joonmyun that night - Yixing confessed to him.

Joonmyun accepted it with no hesitation and returned the feelings to Yixing. Together they would then live through the events that were to come. From the First Republic all the way to the Second and then through Military Rule. After that was the Third Republic until the Sixth, the latter being the present day. Joonmyun realised how long the two of them had lived together and what they lived through. He felt at ease that they hadn't lost each other along the way.

Yixing walked up to him and wrapped his arm around Joonmyun's waist, "Are you okay, Joonmyun?" he asked.

"Yeah, I was just thinking about the time that we first met each other. It was so long ago, we've lived through so much," answered Joonmyun.

"I am still so thankful that you found me that day. Otherwise I would have just died along with the other soldiers. If you didn't find me that day, I would never have lived such a great life. Plus, we got to live through those days up until now. Which brings me to give you these," Yixing brought out a bouquet of roses, "There is a reason you were thinking about that day you know?"

"Why is that?" asked Joonmyun.

"Because, today's the date that we met. I can never and will never forget this day, Joonmyun because it was the day my life was saved by the one I love," answered Yixing.

Joonmyun accepted the flowers and gave Yixing a kiss as a thank you. "Well, I guess Jongin is back in the country. It seems as though all of us have found someone now, d
