Fifteen

 

 

"Morning," Luhan said quietly as he passed Eunji's table, flashing a grin.

Eunji smiled under the veil of hair covering her face. "Morning," she whispered back.   She heard Luhan take a seat behind her and waited for him to tap her shoulder and joke around as always. After several moments, she realized it wasn't coming anytime soon. She quickly got up and turned to look at the boy, almost choking at what she saw. Luhan was lying in the exact same position she was seconds ago, his eyes closed and hair messier than usual. This was a rare occasion, too rare to be exact. Something had to be wrong.
"Do you feel sick?" Eunji whispered, looking around to make sure no-one saw their interaction.   "No, I'm just sleepy," Luhan mumbled.   "Are you sure you're not sick?" Eunji asked again. She still couldn't believe Luhan was sleeping, or well, trying to sleep.   Eunji received no reply and she huffed in frustration.  Looking around at the half-filled classroom and noticing they hadn't attracted anyone's attention, Eunji quickly patted Luhan's fluffy hair before turning back around. Luhan was surprised from her sudden cute gesture though and quickly sat back up again to look at the back of his sleeping girlfriend. He rubbed the area she had patted with a sleepy and bashful grin. Luhan still couldn't get over the fact that this adorable girl was his, and his only. Checking the time on his phone, he realized that there were still 5 minutes before class began. This only meant that he still had time to talk with Eunji before school started. He quickly got up from his chair and tapped Eunji twice on the shoulder before walking out the classroom. Eunji peeked up at Luhan's retreating figure and waited a few seconds to follow after him.   His hand clasped hers as he guided her to an empty area.   "I thought you were going to sleep?" Eunji joked.    "I was, until you patted my head." Luhan poked his tongue out. His expression quickly changed though when he decided to ask about the other night. "When did you get home last night?"
Eunji looked surprised at the question and Luhan noticed at how she tugged her hand out of his grip. Eunji thought of her answer desperately. If the cafe closed at 11, then the restaurant probably would have ended at 1. Yes, thats it. 
"I got home at around 1:15," Eunji answered sheepishly, hoping her lie sounded believable.  Luhan frowned at how Eunji avoided looking at his eyes.    "Are you lying to me?" he said slowly, still capturing her every move- her fidgeting, the way her eyes looked everywhere but his.   "No!" she gasped, although realizing how surprised she had sounded may have blown her cover. "I mean, no. Why would I lie?" she said in a much calmer manner, forcing herself to look into Luhan's eyes.   Luhan was still doubtful but he figured there was nothing he could do to really find out if Eunji was lying. And she was right. Did she have any reason to lie? Not that he could think of. He nodded thoughtfully.   "So whats gotten into you?" Eunji asked, making a desperate attempt to change the subject. "You look tired today." Her fingertips grazed the slightly darker skin under Luhan's eyes.   Luhan chuckled. "I couldn't sleep, although thats pretty rare because my parents say I sleep like a baby."   "I can imagine. Your parents still check on you when you sleep?" Eunji asked
