It was one of those cold winter afternoon, when a girl around fifteen years old was waiting for her dad to come and fetch her. She was waiting on one of those benches just right outside of her school. She rubbed her cold freezing hands together as she mentally cursed herself for leaving her gloves behind. She was shaking as she looked up to check each car that was passing by. She wrapped her coat tightly around her and looked at her watch. It was already five in the afternoon and it has been almost two hours that she was waiting there. She looked around then sighed, as she knew that she’s the only one left there.

A guy went out of the school building as he looked at his watched. He blamed himself for sleeping in the library and not being able to study for his exam tomorrow. He quickly wore his coat, scarf and gloves on as the cold wind breezed pass him.

As he was just about to leave, a tiny figure caught the corner of his eyes. A girl. He noticed that the girl was only wearing a thin coat over her school uniform. She wasn’t wearing any scarf around her neck and wasn’t wearing any gloves for her hands. He saw how the girl would rub her hands together and shiver because of the cold.

He went towards the girl, who was now kicking the snow on the ground because of the boringness. He sat beside the girl on the bench causing her to look up at him.

“Are you waiting for someone?” He asked.

The girl looked at him confusingly and finally answered back, “I’m waiting for my appa to fetch me.”

He studied the girl quietly and noticed that her nose and cheeks were bright red. He guessed that this girl must’ve been sitting there for almost an hour already.

He took off his scarf that was hanging around on his neck and put it over to her.

She quickly tensed up at the sudden action of the guy. She doesn’t even know this guy.

He took off his gloves and handed it to her, “Here, take these.”

She just stared down at the gloves that he was handing to her and looked up at him. She slowly reached out to take them but she accidentally touched his hands as she did so. His hands were undyingly warm and she couldn’t help but feel the want to hold his hand.

He looked at the girl as he felt her cold fingertips touched his as she took the gloves from him and wore it.

“How long have you been waiting here?” He asked.

“2 hours.” She mumbled.

“I’ll stay with you until your dad picks you up.” He smiled at her and she couldn’t help but blush in return.

 “Thank you.” She mumbled shyly at him.

“No need to thank you, I couldn’t just leave a girl freezing out in the cold.”

She looked down at her hands and noticed that his gloves were already worn out but it was warm and cozy.

She was extremely touched by his kind actions and that was the time when she noticed that he was wearing the same uniform as hers. She looked at his nametag, Kim Jongdae. That was his name. Kim Jongdae.

Just then, a car stopped right in front of them causing the two to look up.

“Is that your car?” He asked and she nodded in return.

“Thank you.” She bowed at him and shyly smiled as she entered her car.

He smiled in return and left. She then remembered that she was still wearing his scarf and gloves. She was just about to go out and give it back to him when she noticed that he was already a few blocks away.

“Kim Jongdae.” She mumbled as she looked at the bench where they sat and smiled.
