Chapter 18

Yeonmi POV

With the key in my hand, i gulped and started the engine with determination. 

I was really happy as i begin my little test drive with this cute little car.

I smiled at the car knowing in my head that this Mini Cooper will soon be mine.

This will take me to places.

Wherever and whatever it will be.

I am ready for it.

It was already late in the afternoon after my little expedition with this car.

I was no longer in the city, i was quite elated with the green scenery of the province.

I was about to open my window...when i spot a rather familiar Yamaha bike

Jin?

I was meters away from him but i decided not to open the window anymore so that he won’t see me.

What was he doing in the province??

I was now unconsciously following him, carefully...so that he won’t notice me.

I did not even mind that this car was not even mine yet to begin with.

We drove for 5KMs more when he suddenly made a turn to the left.

It was a small street...where only small  vehicles could enter.

I continued to follow him....

We drove for a little while more when he...an abandoned factory???

I was now worried for him...what the heck Jin!! 

I suddenly parked behind some bushes, just making sure.

 what if he was in trouble?

It was now dark...the moon was up. 

And Jin was nowhere to be found.

I reckoned he went inside...so I went inside as well.

I have never been this nervous in my life. I wanted to know what was that idiot doing in this kind of place?

I was now inside the abandon place...and from the inside...it looks well...deserted..neglected...old. 

I heard voices in the background. So i hid myself....

They were 2 korean men...who looked like they were from wrestle mania...and they were carrying...

GUNS?

I was shocked but i was more than worried for Jin...I wanted to know that he was safe...I continued to go deeper into the factory...

If those people will spot me...i know ill be dead.

I need to save Jin.

I was walking for quite sometime now...when 

AHHHHHHHHHHH!

It was clearly a voice in pain..

I went a little further..i crouched down and...

It was a man in chains...armed men where there beating him to death...he was already bloody...

“please nooo please it was not me!! Please spare me” he pleaded to a man who was carrying a pistol with him.

The man only smirked at him.

And he began to trigger the gun.

And aim at the bloodied man.

I was pretty sure my gasp was loud...i knew they were now searching where the direction of the noise was....

I was now running....i was scared shocked...

Confused.

Jin...

Where are you...

Why...

I felt a hand crept behind me and suddenly pushed me to the wall, his hand gripped my arm tightly locking it. 

And i felt a gun pointed at me.

Please...

“Y-yeonmi?”

And i knew instantly who that voice was....and i felt my hand being released..

I slowly spun around...afraid to see who the owner of the voice was...

I don't want to confirm it.

I saw him putting the gun down...with his free hand he suddenly offered it to me.

“trust me...i will tell you everything...but you have to trust me...”

I don't know if i could...but i took his hand anyway.

He dragged me away....we ran as quickly as we could I knew at the back of my mind that people were tailing behind us.

We carefully sneaked our way...into the bushes...into the car.

How did he know??

Did he knew all along that a car was following him around?

He placed me into the passenger seat and he ran to the driver’s seat.

He was silent and focused on driving us away from whatever hell this place was.

We were now nearing the city when he all of the sudden.

BEEEEP.

He hit the horn forcefully.

“dammit yeonmi! Why were you following me! Why....you...” he tried to speak..

I did not know myself....i decided not to answer him...

My thoughts were already bugging me..as i recall the first day of meeting him.

And it leads me to one conclusion.

Tattoos...guns....codenames...

He drove us to his apartment, I received a call from the car company and explained to them about ‘getting stuck’ because of an engine problem 

and promised to bring the car back first thing in the morning.

We were quiet on the way. We went inside the apartment i immediately went to his kitchen to get something to drink...

My throat was dry...this..

Everything...

I felt someone embrace my back. Jin was hugging me tightly as if he was afraid he will lose me.

“J-jin....lets sit and talk” i said

We were now in his coach i was sitting beside him...and he began to speak...

But i stopped him....

I stood up...and placed my hands on the button of his shirt.

His eyes widen but i continued with what i did.

“y-yeonmi”

I opened his buttons..and there i saw...

What confirms it all..

Stars on his chest...
