My grandmother used to tell me an old Chinese legend of the worlds most powerful thing: love.

It was about twelve people and their love for their mate made them stronger beyond belief. Everything and everyone was happy, excepting the twelve people and their powers- except for one. A goddess named Park Bom fell in love with one of the twelve but he denied her because he could never leave his beloved. Bom was furious so she used all of her power to separate the twelve from their mates, wiping their memories of each other, sending them to another dimension- ours.

Bom also wiped her own memory and sent herself to the same dimension so she would not have to live with the guilt of separating the twelve lovers. But that's not it she gave the twelve including herself false memories and lives. Reason one, so she could have the one she loved to herself. Reason two, if the boys ever met again the spell would be reversed and all of their memories would come back, even her own.

I always loved this story growing up. That is- until I found out I was apart of it.
