Chapter Two: Birthday Secret

Ding.

The elevator rang as it opened to the 11th floor of a certain building. A young woman nervously stepped out of the elevator and looked around the expensive looking and wide 11th floor, her heart thumped nervously as she couldn’t take a step forward.

Ding.

The elevator made another sound as it closes its doors. The young woman jumps in surprise as her reaction to the elevator closing.

‘I guess I’m just really nervous.’ She thought to herself. She nodded her head before gathering the courage to walk towards a dorm/condo room. As she walked she looked down to her hands holding a certain box, on top of it was 2 birthday cards. She looked at them as she slowly bit her lower lip, each step she took she can hear with her ears along with that was the fast pace of her racing heart.

She finally reached her destination; she was already in front of his door. She looks around the hall; there was no one in sight. She looked at the wall beside the door; it was full of different writings, all about love and support for him and s. She bets that the walls on the 12th floor are also like this. She looks down again at the box she was holding, there was a cake inside. She bent her knees and squatted as she places it on the floor. She took one of the birthday card and opened it, it already had something written on it, it read:

“Dear Anchovy oppa,

Happy Birthday!

Be happy and always stay healthy! :D

From,
Me.”

She closed it and put in down. When she did, she took the other one and opened it. This was the one she spent up all night writing, with her heart poured out on this birthday card in her hands. The first one was just something, just something that would cover it all up, cover up her feelings. Unlike the first one which she just read in her mind, she opened and began to read it quietly:

“Dear Hyuk Oppa,

Happy Birthday! Yah! You’re so old now. Kekeke. I’m just kidding. You’re already 24 years old, did you know that in America, you’re only 23 now? ^^ But you know, no matter what age you are, you know I’ll always love you, right oppa? :) *sigh* Oppa, am I really just a little girl to you? Ahh.. I don’t know anymore. But oppa, I don’t think I can hold on to you longer…because you’re always making me confused. But even though you do, I always want you to know that I’m thankful that God let you come to this earth and moreover that he let me meet such a wonderful person like you, Lee Hyukjae Oppa. Happy Birthday, Be happy and always stay healthy! :D Or else you’re dead! You got me?! Kekeke. ^^

Park Gyuri let out a sigh as she was about to close the card until she heard a sound.

Ding.

She turned around to see the elevator door open and a group of people came out of the elevator. Gyuri saw Eunhyuk from the group that was busily chatting about. Gyuri stood up as she was about to call him, when a small figure came out of the group, it was Luna from f(x). Gyuri took a step back, the group came closer and closer, she saw some of s and some friends but they were all talking with each other and most especially, Eunhyuk was only talking to Luna. Surprised, hurt and afraid Gyuri ran away from them and hid leaving the cake and the first card at the door, she could hear there footsteps coming closer.

“Oh look, there’s a box at your door, it’s probably a cake for you, Hyuk ah. And there’s a card too! ” A voice exclaimed, Gyuri guessed it was probably Donghae

“Oh! Maybe it’s from a fan oppa!” Another voiced chimed in, without second guessing it was Luna. Gyuri looked at the card on her hands, it was the card that he was supposed to have but couldn’t because of her foolishness and fear. And with a heavy heart, Gyuri turn towards the stairs that was conveniently near to where she was hiding and then left.
