. CHAPTER TWO
♕ Hey Princess ! {hiatus}
Chapter Two . The Stranger
"You should look around before choosing to cross the road," a deep voice spoke from behind her.
Soyeon froze on the spot. She could tell it was a guy, but she couldn't recognize his voice. Slowly she turned her face to face the stranger, and her widened. The guy was taller than her, and she couldn't even see his face, as her head arrived at his shoulders. Lifting up her head, she met dark brown orbs which were full of worry.
"You should be careful. It's dangerous you know..." he told her with a little smile.
Soyeon blinked. Was he talking to her? "Oh..." she blushed deeply, then tried struggling out of his grasp until he let her go. "I'm sorry. I was just... Nevermind," she whispered, looking down and not wanting to meet his eyes again.
A silence took place between them. Soyeon was embarassed. Not only because he probably saved her from an accident, but because she couldn't look at him without blushing. She didn't even know him for God's sake! How could this guy make her feel like jelly? You can't cheat on oppa! Even if you're not even in a relationship with him, but still...
"Are you okay?" He asked, worried.
Soyeon snapped out from her state and waved like crazy. "Huh? Yeah, yeah. Hm thank you, you're right, I should have been careful," she said. After a few seconds where she tried to calm down her heartbeat, she raised her head again.
A genuine smile crept up on his face, and she couldn't help but smile in return. "It's okay, everyone would have done it too." He patted her head. "Well, I hope we'll see each other again~!" He winked at Soyeon before he walked past her and left.
Soyeon blinked a few times then shook her head. She didn't have time to be confused by this strange guy. Moreover it was not like she would see him again.

"Jong In-ah? Is it really you?"
When Kai's mother opened the door, she never thought that she'd see her son behind it. After being surprised, she was really happy to see him. It had been a long time. "You have grown well, dear. Look at you!" she cooed like a teenage girl.
"Omma!" Kai whined but inside, he was smiling like an idiot. He missed her so much. She pulled him into a tight hug, and kissed his cheeks like when he was younger.
"When did you arrive? Does your grandma know? You didn't leave her alone? Jong In!" Ms. Kim didn't let him say a single word, so Kai let her continue.
"Mr. Park will take care of her. Don't worry, I would never let her without someone who would look after her," Kai said while trying to make his mother sit on a chair. "I just wanted to see you. When I was a child, I couldn't come but now... Let me stay here. Please." He was nineteen, he could help her now.
Kai's mother looked at him for a while. Her son had grown a lot since the last time she saw him. He was a man now. She sighed then smiled at her son. "Sure, my dear..."
"Really?"
"Neh, I would be please to have my little boy with me. But make sure to find a school, okay? There is a University at Seoul where you can practice your dancing skills. It's a really good one, you should apply for the next week. There are often a few students who change school in mid-semester or in the middle of the year because of their parents' work."
Kai laughed uneasily. He wanted to try, but he hadn't the money. If it really was one of the best schools in Seoul, he couldn't afford to apply. But his mother seemed to be so happy, maybe he could try the entry exam? Was it so bad to try?
"So... Has my little boy have found his other half?" his mother asked him after few seconds.
Kai looked at her with furrowed brows. What was she talking about? "Other half"? He then understood her question, and blushed. "What? I-I don't... Huh? I mean..." he stuttered. "What are you talking about?"
"Oh Jong In-ah~! Don't be so shy!" Ms. Kim smiled. "There is someone? You can tell me everything you know~"
"Anio, Omma. I don't have a girlfriend or someone that I love. I don't have time for that."
"Who doesn't have time for love? Gosh, Jong In, you're just like your father...." It was not meant to hurt, but Kai flinched. His dad left them a long time ago, saying that he couldn't stay with a woman that he didn't love. Kai knew that his mother was deeply hurt by those words. Since then, she always told him to take care of the girl he loves. But up until now, her son has never fallen in love with someone. He dated a few girls, but he knew that it wasn't love.
"Omma, it's not because I don't have a girlfriend that I don't care about it," he stated bitterly.
"Well, why are you still alone?"
"If I tell you that I'll try, will you give me some space?"
Kai's mother wanted to reply but she shut when she heard the doorbell. Not knowing that his mother was expecting someone, Kai frowned. Ms. Kim got up and walked to the door. She opened and was immediately pulled into a hug by a petite figure. Kai's eyes widened.
"Omo I have so many things to tell you~!" The girl cooed while hugging Mrs Kim.
To Kai's surprise, his mom started to smile at the stranger's attitude. She responded to her embrace by hugging her back. "Oh my... Why are you not in your house at this hour sweetheart? You shouldn't be out."
The girl laughed then broke the hug. "I missed you! I was out with a friend, but I didn't want to stay where we were. You're not mad, are you? I can go home if you want."
Ms. Kim shook her head. "Anio, you can stay. It's just that my son came to see me, so I don't know if you're okay with sharing me tonight."
"I don't mind, it's your son after all. I want to meet him, you always talk about him!" the girl said.
Upon hearing this, Kai smiled again. So, his mother talked about him? He liked that thought. Strangely, he'd already heard this voice somewhere before, but he couldn't remember where or when. "Jong In-ah, come here to welcome our guest!" His train of thoughts were broken by his mom's calls.
"I'm coming."
Kai left the living room and joined them in the lobby. He looked up when he heard a loud gasp, and his eyes met two familiar brown orbs. Even though he'd only seen them once before, and not very long ago at that, he still recognized. The way that person had tried to avoid his gaze during the few times they looked at each other, he couldn't help but feel at ease.
It was that girl from earlier.
