“That was a nice break! With good food, the canteen was very clean and….”

 

“THE MOST POPULAR GUY SMILED AT YOU!” I teased Aerine as I smirked at her.

 

“YAHHHHHHHH!” She said it in an attempt to hide her shyness behind anger. But of course, she failed! Her own cheeks gave her away as she blushed a super dark shade of red!

 

We laughed as we made our way to class, filling the stairway with our loud laughter.

 

I wonder if that popular guy, Doojoon really has a thing for Aerine?

 

“YES! We managed to reach the fourth floor and survived!” I said with humour while panting. Geez, it’s really hard to climb stairs when trying to defy gravity with such a big body!

 

As we walked towards our classroom, I could see Kikwang at his seat and Doongwoon sitting at my seat. They were both playing on their phones and they looked like little kids that just received candy! The excitement on their faces were so cute!

 

“I’ll sit at Dongwoon’s place for the moment then!” We walked towards Aerine’s seat and she sat at hers while I sat on Dongwoon’s.

 

I held out Junhyung's music sheet that I had picked up from the ground during recess and stared at it for a moment.

 

“What are you gonna do with it?” Aerine asked me and stared at the music sheet as well.

 

“I don’t know. I want to return it to him, but I'm not sure which class he's in. How am I suppose to return it to him?"

 

“Well... Maybe we could stay in school after lessons are over and see if you can spot him? ” Aerine suggested. Why didn’t I think of that?!

 

“Oh ya! I will then! Thanks for the suggestion! Will you stay back with me too?” I gave her the puppy dog eyes to try and convince her to stay behind with me.

 

Aerine, of course being my best friend, nodded. I hugged her with so much strength that I could have squashed her and break her rib cage! But who cares,I LOVE HER! SHE IS THE BEST! XD

 

“Awwwwwwwwww! Soooooo sweeeeeeet!” A familiar voice came from behind.

 

I let go of Aerine and turned back. It was Kikwang! Urgh, that cheeky boy!

 

Kikwang turned towards Dongwoon and asked, “Are you my best friend, Dongwoon?”

 

“Of course I am!” They both hugged each other, trying to imitate Aerine and I, causing all four of us burst into laughter! But I have to admit... It was really funny when they did it!

 

“Oh! I forgot to introduce you guys! This is Dongwoon!” Aerine signaled towards the mixed-blooded looking guy.

 

“Oh! Hello!” I waved at him, “My name is Gerdin!”

 

“So you're Gerdin! Kikwang has been talking about you the whole time during our break! He said that you were very clever when it came to……..” Dongwoon slowly turned towards Kikwang, and I thought he was going to say I was very clever when it came to Maths.

 

“NOT PAYING ATTENTION IN CLASS!” Dongwoon exclaimed. Causing me to glare at Kikwang but broke out into giggles.

 

“I didn’t! I swear! DOOOONGWOOON!” Kikwang started to chase Dongwoon around the classroom. Aerine and I couldn’t help but laughed out loud while seeing the two guys running around like monkeys!

 

After 3 rounds of the “mini-marathon” around the classroom, they stopped in front Aerine and I. Seeing these guys chase each other was hilarious!

 

“OH! I also forgot to introduce him to you!” I said to Aerine and pointed to Kikwang. “This is Kikwang! The innocent fool that sits beside me!”

 

“Hi Aerine! I am Kiwang, the innocent fo---....YAHHHHHH~! I am not a fool!” Kikwang’s slow reaction brought forth waves of laughter from us! HAHAHAHAHAHA! XD

 

It was really nice that Aerine and I made some new friends in class after just one day!

 

“Okay! Everyone back to your seats! Lesson is starting now!” A male teacher walked in and placed his stationeries and textbooks on the teacher’s desk. He looked damn scary! He wasn't ugly though. It’s just that he was so fierce looking! Oh god, I really hope that I didn’t judge a book by it’s cover!

 

 I hurriedly pushed Kikwang back to our seats as he was walking so slowly in front of me, effectively blocking my way.

 

Kikwang and I settled down at our seats and got ready for lesson. We were having History class. Which was one of my weakest subjects! I swear I always got Hitler and Stalin mixed up all the time.

 

“Are you good at History?” I whispered to Kikwang.

 

“Of course! I always score A for History!” Kikwang chuckled as he held up his thumb.

 

“Wow, that’s a shocker from a fool like you!” I once again.

 

“YAHHHHHHHH!” Kikwang slapped my arm. Oh my god, why do all my friends have sumo strength?! First it’s Aerine and now Kikwang!

 

After all the fooling around, Kikwang and I quieted down and paid attention to the lecture.

Surprisingly, History lesson wasn’t that boring after all! I actually managed to absorb all the details and information that the teacher went through. Throughout the whole lesson, Kikwang and I were busy trying to take down notes of what the teacher was saying. To be honest, I felt ashamed of my notes when compared to Kikwang's. Why? Because he had such nice penmanship! And his notes were very colorful and don’t be shocked but, he loved to draw cute faces around his notes! HAHA! So cute :3

 

Finally, bell rang announcing the end of this lesson.

 

“Okay class, no homework for today, but do read up the chapter on the music talent, Mozart. Be prepared for next lesson.” The teacher signaled the class to stand. We thanked him and he left the class.

 

“Remember Gerdin,” nagged Kikwang, “to read up on Mozart!”

 

“Yes sir! I will remember!” I said and saluted him. Earning a smile and nod from him.

 

Wait. Music talent. Mozart. Music talent. Music. Why did the word 'music' gave me a feeling that I’ve forgotten something... Something important… But what was it? I scratched my head, wrecking my head, trying to recall what it was... Oh ! I remember now! It was Junhyung's lost music sheet from earlier!

 

I snapped out from my thoughts and back to reality. I searched high and low. But I just couldn't find it! Damn it! What if it was really important to that Junhyung guy?

 

“What are you finding?” Kikwang noticed as he sensed my panic.

 

“I lost a music sheet! It’s really important to me!” I almost shouted.

 

Wait... What?!... Did I just say it was very important to me? I didn't even realise it! Why did I say that? I've only met Junhyung once! It shouldn't be this important to me! Why was it so important?!

 

“Let me help you out!” Kikwang suggested.

 

I was really thankful that Kikwang was willing to help me out to find the sheet but I was too busy looking for it to say thank you to him.

 

I plopped down on the chair heavily (Strange that the chair didn’t break into half because of my big body!) and was feeling so hopeless.

 

I know it’s not mine and there's no reason for me to be this anxious. But I just hate the thought that maybe this music sheet was really important to Junhyung and now I’ve lost it!

 

“Come on! We will be able to find it.” Kikwang placed his hand on my shoulder in an effort to comfort me.

 

I didn't want to worry him so I looked at him and forced a fake smile for him.

 

“I'll go look around the classroom while you check your bag carefully again, okay?” He then bent low to the floor and scanned around to see if the music sheet was any where to be found.

 

I took my bag and lifted it to my table again. Ransacked it without much hope that I would find it, since I had already searched it before.

 

“I’m sorry...” Kikwang apologised to me as he couldn't find it.

 

“It’s okay. It's not your fault. I was the one who lost it...” I replied dejectedly.

 

I didn’t have much hope that he would be able to find it. I know I had left it somewhere, or maybe I dropped it somewhere.

 

“OKAY PEOPLE. “ An old man announced as he walked into the classroom. I could tell he had a bad attitude... Or maybe he was simply just in a bad mood.

 

“Turn to page 45 and read! I’m giving you 5 minutes!" He slamed his stuff on the table and started to clean the white board.

 

“Come on. Sit down. Lesson is starting.” I smiled at Kikwang sadly.

 

He smiled back and sat down at his seat. I could tell he knew that the smile I just gave him was fake. Not real. I could see it in his eyes that he didn't believe me. But I just didn’t want him to worry too much over it. I just couldn't help but feel sad that I had lost that music sheet. To be more accurate, Junhyung’s music sheet.

I wasn’t paying attention throughout the whole of the Chemistry lesson. It wasn't because it was the last period and that I was getting tired... It’s just that… That… Music sheet! Damn! Why did I get so emotional for losing it?! I felt more guilt than any other feeling... What if Junhyung was searching high and low for that music sheet?! Waiting for someone to return him?!

 

“Gerdin.GERDIN. GERDIN!”

 

“Yes?!” I shouted as I was snapped out of thoughts.

 

“What is the chemical substance for Question 5?”

 

!!!!! Question 5?! I wasn’t even paying attention in class! I don’t even know what the lesson was about!

 

“Errrrrr…. Well…..” I mumbled.

 

"What?! Speak louder!" Scolded the teacher.

 

“Psssssssttttttt…. It’s Aluminum… ” Kikwang whispered into my right ear.

 

“Aluminum!” I shouted out answer.

 

“Yes. You are correct. But please pay more attention to the lesson.” The teacher said. His glasses was resting on his nose, and he gave me that 'you-better-pay-attention-in-class-or-else' stare for a moment, turned back around and wrote the answer on the board.

 

I flushed and turned over to Kikwang to thank him. He smiled in return to say "You're welcome." without actually saying it.

 

"That’s the last question of the day. The rest are homework. Have a good rest today and hand up your homework the next lesson. Thank you class.”

 

“Thank you Mr Andrews.” Everyone thanked him and cheered hooray as we were finally able to go home and rest after a long and stressful first day of school. I was happy too... Just not as cheerful as the others.

 

I started to pack my bag, putting all my stationeries and textbooks into my bag.

 

“Gerdin! Let’s exchange numbers so we can remind each other of the homework!” Kikwang showed me his crescent smile.

 

“Sure!”

 

We exchanged phones and punched in our numbers and returned back the phones.

 

“Yo!” Aerine patted me on the shoulder. Seriously, this girl was always the first to be ready to go home. And trust me, she always packed her bag 5 minutes before the lesson ends so she can leave the school on time. But because I'm always slow, she has to wait for me. Hehe :3

 

“Can we go now?” Aerine asked.

 

“Sure, let’s go.” I grabbed my bag and hung it over my shoulder.

 

“Oh! Wait!” Aerine cried. She then lifted up a piece of paper.

 

“OH MY GOD! WHERE DID YOU FIND THIS?!” I was so happy that I was jumping up and down! Why?! Because it was the music sheet that I was looking for!

 

“You left it on my table. I was gonna return it to you after all the lessons ended.”

 

“Thank you so much! I’ve been looking for it everwhere!”

 

I hugged Aerine with so much joy!

 

“Okay okay! I... Cannot… Cannot... Breathe!... Too… Too tight!” I quickly let go of Aerine and showed her my  silly smile.

 

“So you’ve finally found your music sheet!” Kikwang suddenly appeared behind us. “Should we go and celebrate?”

 

“Celebrate? Just because I’ve found my paper?” I asked in disbelief. Who will celebrate over such things?! Well... Only Kikwang the fool will!

 

“Well, yeah! And besides, there’s a new steamboat restaurant across the school. We should go and try it out! Also as a way to celebrate our friendship!” Apparently, Kikwang really loves food! That’s why he smiled so brightly at his steamboat suggestion.

 

“Well, we can’t to that today. Because we need to stay back for awhile. I’m sorry!” Kikwang’s smile faded and turned into a frown. Urgh, I hate to see that happen to people.

 

“How about tomorrow after school?” I tried to make it up to Kikwang. And besides, other than Aerine, there weren't many, practically no one, that will ask me to hang out with them.

 

“Okay! It’s set! I’ll go tell Dongwoon now! See you guys tomorrow then! Bye!” Kikwang cheered and ran towards Dongwoon. Such a childish boy!

 

Aerine and I both waved goodbye to Dongwoon and Kikwang before leaving the classroom and headed towards the canteen.

I looked at my watch. 3.45pm. School ended at 1.30pm for us. Aerine and I both reached the canteen at 1.45pm. And since then, we both have yet to leave the canteen. It’s been two hours already! Still no sight of Junhyung!

 

“You know what. I'll stay and wait for him. You go home and rest.” I could see that Aerine was very tired, but stayed behind as she didn't want to leave me alone.

 

“It’s okay! I'm fine. But are you sure you want to wait? I mean, after all, it’s just a music sheet. And besides, you don’t even know this Junhyung person.” Aerine tried to convince me not wait any longer.

 

“It’s okay. I'll just wait for a while more. What if this music sheet meant a lot to him and he needs it urgently but can't find it?” I held the paper tightly, just in case I would lose it again like before.

 

“Well, okay then.” Aerine just smiled at me.

I looked at my watch. 4.45pm. I think maybe Junhyung has already went home. Maybe I did miss him? I think I should just go home now. Besides, Aerine looks tired already, and she won't leave the school unless I do. Sighing, I kept the music sheet into my file.

 

“You know what,” I looked at Aerine, “let's just go home.”

 

“You don’t want to wait anymore?” Aerine smiled until her eyes were going to becom straight lines.

 

“Yeah. Maybe we'll see him soon. After all, we're in the same school!” I smiled.

 

"Well then, let’s go!” We grabbed our bags and trotted towards the school gate.

 

As we headed out of the school, I could feel my tummy grumbling.

 

“Let’s go grab a bite?” I asked.

 

“Sure! Why not? I know there’s an Italian restaurant nearby!” Aerine led the way to this amazing restaurant.

 

As we stepped into the restaurant, I was captivated by the interior design of the restaurant. Great ambience, atmosphere, but there weren’t much people in it. So it was rather quiet here. I LOVE IT!

 

A waiter walked towards us, ushered us to our table and place two menus in front of both of us.

 

“Hi! We have seafood spaghetti and olive baked rice as our specials today. Soup of the day is cream of mushroom with corn.” He had a sweet voice that gave me chills down my spine. It's not because that it wasn't nice... It just was sweeter than a girl's voice!

 

I knew I wanted to try the seafood spaghetti and a cup of coke, thus I was ready to order.

 

“I would like a… ”

 

Just when I tilted my head up to order the food, OH MY GODNESS, I SAW THE WAITER’S FACE.

 

He was really cute! So cute to a point that I wanted to bring him home! His eyes in combination with his chubby cheeks made him so adorable! His smile was deadly and could melt any girl's heart! It made me wonder what his name was. I looked at the name tag pinned to the right side of his uniform, 'Yoseob' it spelt.

 

Oh, so his name is Yoseob! What a cute name for such a cute person!

 

“Yes, miss?... Miss?... ” Yoseob asked with a confused look on his face.

 

“Oh! Sorry! I would like a seafood spaghetti and a cup of coke!” I ordered in embarrassment. Geez, I must’ve looked so stupid the whole time I was blanked out!

 

“Sure. I’ll repeat your orders again. One olive baked rice, one seafood spaghetti and two cups of coke.” Aerine and I both nodded and smiled our approval.

 

“Okay! The food will be served in 15 minutes!” He gave us a friendly smile, collected our menus and skipped straight to the kitchen.

A different waiter served us our food... He wasn't as cute though!

 

I really enjoyed the food! It was really nice, delicious and tasty! We spent a good hour just chatting and gossiping about our first day of school and how it was like to sit beside Kikwang and Dongwoon. Hehe :3

 

We both decided to go dutch and split the bill. Aerine raised her hand to request for the bill.

 

And guess what?! Yoseob walked towards us and handed us our bill! Hmmm... What a good way to end our great meal! XD

 

“Total is… $50.60.” Yoseob smiled at us.

 

Aerine paid the bill first as she wiped out money and place it in the tab.

 

“Thank you, Miss. Have a nice day!” Yoseob looked at Aerine, collected the money. and smiled brightly once again. Geez. If only I paid the bill first! Yoseob would have smiled at me! Damn it! Jealous much!

 

As we were leaving the restaurant, I glanced back in an effort to try to get a last glimpse of Yoseob. Too bad I wasn't allowed the chance! He must have gone back to the kitchen as he wasn't at the dining area.

After Aerine and I went separate ways, I dragged my heavy and tired body back home.

 

I quickly placed my bag down next to my bed, washed up, changed into my pajamas and got ready for bed after I switched off my phone. Even though it’s only 9.30pm, I just wanted to get plenty of rest and be ready for school tomorrow.

 

Suddenly, my mind started to recalled all that happened today. Meeting new friends, getting to know some teachers and not to mention the music sheet that was in my file right now. I didn’t expect myself to be that anxious over a piece of paper whose owner was someone I've only met once. But anyways, I'm sure I'll get the chance to meet him again.

 

Yes, I will...

 

Yes... I... Will…

 

Before I knew it, I was drifting to dreamland and away from reality...
