"Bummie~ Am I that handsome that you keep on staring at me?" Jinki says as he pinches Kibum's cheeks, snapping the latter from a daze.

Kibum's face heat up at Jinki's teasing. "Eh? No. You? You look ugly that it's very disturbing."

"What were you thinking?" Jinki asked.

"Ah..A lot of things?" He nervously chuckled as he tried to hide his thoughts.

"Uhmmm... Okay." Jinki shrugged as he continued to eat his lunch.

Kibum nervously smiled as he mumbles a silent, that was close.
 

Kim Kibum didn't really know when did he start feeling like this. Jinki and Kibum were bestfriends since middle school and now that they're in college, he realized he's been loving Jinki more than what they are.

It all started when Jinki began to which he didn't find annoying and disturbing, but very cute and adorable. His casual hugs and touches began to make Kibum's heart race, fast enough to run a marathon. 

He didn't mind it at first but when Jinki begins to be all over this Kim Jonghyun from the Music Department, he couldn't help but be jealous over him. He's my bestfriend, he thought. But sometimes, he couldn't help but wish that they were more than that.
 

It was another sunny day and Kibum smiles as he waits for Jinki on their usual table every lunch. It was a good weather, he smiles as he thinks of things him and Jinki could do after school.

Arcades? Or Noraebang? He ponders for a while but forgets about it as he sees Jinki being his usual dorky self, tripping over thin air. He was about to stand up and help Jinki when the latter recovers his composure and smiles sheepishly at the crowd staring at him.

"Bummie! Guess what?!" Jinki excitedly pranced around Kibum and nudges his shoulder.

Cute, Kibum thinks. "For a moment, you look like a bunny right there." Kibum chuckled as Jinki pouts cutely.

"Bummie~" Jinki begins to whine.

"Okay okay. What?" Kibum says boredly.

Jinki's eyes sparkled as he held Kibum's hands. "I got Jonghyun's number." Kibum's heart broke at the statement.

"Good for you, hyung." He replied, quickly gathering his things.

"Going somewhere?" Jinki asks, an evident pout on his face.

"Yeah. I got a project to finish. Bye, hyung." Jinki flashed a wide grin and bid him good luck.

Why didn't you act like this when you had mine? Kibum thought as he left an obviously happy Lee Jinki by their spot.

And the previously sunny day become gloomy as he feels raindrops on his skin.

So, the sky was just as sad as him.
 

Saying that it hurt like a was an understatement. It hurts more of like a living hell. Their hangouts began to lessen and he finds himself feeling sad and alone every lunch time. Their night time phone calls began to decrease from every night to once or twice a week. They barely even met in the past 2 weeks.

It was a big change in our routine, Kibum says to himself as he watches Jinki accompany Jonghyun to his next class from afar. He stares and thinks that both of them are compatible. A single tear escapes his eyes as he sadly walks away with a bitter smile on his face.

I miss you, Jinki. He mumbles.

A 15 year old Kibum walks by himself to his next class for today. Walking or lingering around these halls was something he didn't really want to do. But it's not like he can avoid this.

Why?

Because he wasn't exactly liked by his school mates. 

It wasn't because he was a great dancer.

Obviously not because of his high grades.

It's because of a huge rumor.

That the son of the CEO of Kim Corporation, Kim Kibum, sways for guys.

"Oh, hey Kibum! Got a date tonight?" A senior, whom he recognized as Kyuhyun, says and the hall was filled with laughter.

He pulled his sweater closer to his body, as if it was a shield to protect him from them. He ignores their hyena-like laughs and continues to walk towards his class room.

This was nothing new to Kibum. In fact, he experiences the same thing everyday. His school mates, mostly seniors, mocking and bullying him. He doesn't put up a fight. To be honest, just one call to his father and all of them can be expelled. But being the good-natured person Kibum was, he never did.

He arrives at the assigned room and sighs as he sits in the back, avoiding any unnecessary attention. Few minutes more and the class began to fill up. Kibum couldn't help but feel fidgety his his seat. Like something was gonna happen. Bad? Or maybe good?

Their homeroom adviser made her way in front, signalling to pay attention. "Class, there's a transfer student from America and he will be joining us for the rest of the year.

All she got was a few of uninterested grunts and bored stares. "Jinki-ssi? You can come in now."

A chestnut brown-haired boy with a wide, toothy grin walked inside the room. Stopping by their teacher's side, he bowed and said, "Annyeong Haseyo! I'm Lee Jinki. I'll be your classmate from now on. Please take care of me." He ended with a smile.

A smile that put Kibum into a daze.

"You can sit beside Kim Kibum at the back. Kibum-ssi, raise your hand so that Jinki-ssi can see you." Kibum reluctantly raised his right hand, making Jinki smile and move towards him.

Settling down on his new seat beside Kibum, Jinki grins at the latter. "Annyeong! I'm Jinki. Nice to meet you Kibum."

But even before Kibum could open his mouth to reply, his seatmate, Jessica, beats him to it. "Aigoo, oppa. You shouldn't get involved with that gay over there. Ew~"

Kibum bit his lip. Of course. What was he thinking? Jinki was one of the 'normal' people. The ones who are not to be seen with someone like Kibum. He was a disgrace to the society and Jinki shouldn't bother with him. Someone so beautiful like him should know better than to befriend someone like Kibum.

With a heavy heart, he proceeded to ignore Jinki for the rest of the period. But a few minutes before dismissal time, he felt a light tap by his shoulder. He tensed as he wait for a painful jab to his side or something. But a small paper was passed to him. None other by Lee Jinki.

He doesn't want to open it. Maybe it was just a note of another mockery. He just couldn't help but open the said note when Jinki continuously nudge him and mouthing words like 'Open it' or gesture something close to that.

He slowly unfold the paper and his eyes watered at the words written. 

It wasn't mockery. 

But a note full of sincerity.

I still want to be your friend, it wrote. And it was enough to make Kibum's walls crumble down.
