Jar of Hearts
“Thank you everyone! You’ve worked hard today! See you tomorrow!” She – Lee Seyeon, 19 years old girl – said to her workmates, took off her apron, folded it, took her bag and coat, then she went out from the coffee shop where she worked in.
Seyeon had worked there since she was seventeen, working as a barista, sometimes as a waitress, sometimes as a cleaner, or everything she could do in that coffee shop. She was also a university student, majoring English, on the second semester. She graduated from high school last winter.
She was a bright girl, kind hearted one, kind of clumsy sometimes, even so, she was a clever girl. She always got the first tenth rank of class in high school.
She was living with her mother whom she loved the most in this world, ‘cause she didn’t have anybody else in this big world. Her father passed away 5 years ago, at the age of 48, because of an accident, drowned in the sea when he was doing his job. Yes, he was a sailor. Her mother did cook for living, she had a small street vendor – selling traditional dishes – near their house. Their house wasn’t big, it only had 2 bedrooms, one bathroom, one kitchen, one living room, and a small back garden. Even so it wasn’t big, but it was lovely and cozy.
