[PROLOGUE]

Sitting down on the swing, feeling the windy breeze brush against my rosy cheeks, my eyes closed and a smile planted on my face. I was lost deep into my thoughts. I am unsure what this feeling was however I do know that I did not want this to end. 

"Taeyeonnie! Taeyeonnie! It's time!"

I woke up upon hearing Omma's voice. My smile disappeared at that very moment. My eyes opened and I saw Omma standing by the door, looking at me with a warm smile and calming eyes. She then let out a sigh and shook her head.

"Kids, playtime is over. We really have to go. Taeyeonnie, Omma will be waiting for you in the car okay? "

I could feel the motion of the swing getting slower and slower by the second. And soon, it stopped. 

"Aigoo Taengoo! Your Omma is already calling you. As much as I want to continue pushing you on this swing, I do not want Mrs Kim to scold me!"

I stood up and faced him across the swing. Finally, I was able to put my words into sentences. "Oppa, can you promise me something?" That question left him taken aback with a stunned face, his gaze fixed on my face. "Can you promise me that we'll be friends forever, no matter what happens?" 

"Ya! Babo-ya, of course we'll be friends forever. Why are you saying such things? I promise I will always be by your side Kim Taeyeon!"

Tears suddenly flew down my cheeks and the next second, I felt warmth against my body. Jiyong oppa, he was hugging me. My bestfriend who has been there for me since I was 3 years old. And now our friendship has reached its fourth year. Oppa then played with my braided pigtails and said "I don't know why you are being emotional right now Taengu, but whatever it is, I do not like seeing you this way. Smile please!" He broke our hug and went towards the side of his garden where we were playing on the swing few minutes ago. I stood there, carefully observing his actions. He reached down and plucked the flowers on the grass and handed them to me. 

"Here, purple flowers. I don't know what it is called but I do know they're your favourites"

He gave me about four delicate flowers and wiped my face to clear my tears. No, it didn't end there. He placed his finger tips right on my fluffy, puffy cheeks and pinched it gently and stretched it wide so that I was forcefully made to smile. His adorable antics as usual. But instead of playing around, this was not the time for that. No genuine smiles was returned by me as I heard a honk that followed coming from my parent's vehicle by the driveway.

"Ahh, that's your cue! I guess its time for you to leave! Annyeong Taengoo! Oppa will see you tomorrow..." he waved at me. 

I could not look at him. My eyes faced nothing but the ground as I slowly withdrawed myself from the area and away from him.

"There's no tommorow," was all in my head. Quick Kim Taeyeon, just tell him already... But I kept mum.

"And yah! You better stop crying!! Remember, I'll always be by your side!" he continued.

Oppa's voice trailed off as I kept walking further and further. I could not do it. Its really hard to bring myself to tell him that there's no tomorrow. It hurts me to see him clueless that I was moving. It was selfish for me to say that I did not like my parents getting a better job and we, Kims, had to move to another city. I'm losing my bestfriend and I did not have any rights to object my parent's decision. After I got myself into the car, all I did was curl up at the backseat, close my eyes and forced myself to sleep. I cried harder and harder as the engines started and the car started moving away from Jiyong oppa's house. There was no proper goodbye and I feel like I'm such a disappointment.

How would Jiyong feel about this? How could I ever live like this? I clenched the purple flowers that was on my hands and soon I noticed my teardrops overlaying the petals. All I am praying for now is that I hope I would be able to live my life without ever encountering him again. Its for the best and I have to forget him no matter what. For now as we made our exit from the city of Jeongju, only Jiyong oppa's smile and voice lingered in my mind. 

"I'll always be by your side!"
