I was squeezed inside the crowded lift the next morning. I wouldn’t mind being unable to breathe for a while but because of my stupid box which contains stuff that I need for work, I was getting annoyed by the minute because firstly, I was unable to breathe and secondly, I feel like I’m getting bruised up due to the corners of the box hitting my ribcage.

I heaved a sigh of relief when I finally gotten out of the lift. When the lift closed behind me, I suddenly felt the first day feeling. My stomach was swirling in nervousness but I ignored it. I wanted to look professional in front of these people I’ll be working with the next few months or maybe years. I need to make a good first impression because first impressions are everything.

I was walking straight and I just realised that I didn’t know where I would be sitting. I hugged the box tightly as I looked around. I was at the centre of the room and being the self-conscious woman I am, I felt like everyone was looking at me. I swallowed and took in a deep breath.

“Hey, are you Sanghae?” a voice behind me asked.

I turned around to see a guy with prominent cheekbones, chiselled jaw and a mouth that’s similar to a cat.

“Yea,” I answered.

His lips curled upwards and I couldn’t help but smile back.

“Ah, I’m Jongdae!” he introduced himself, “And you’ll be working with me whether you like it or not.”

I chuckled at what he said. He snatched the box from me and I followed him. He entered a room which had big glass as a wall however I couldn’t see in the room because it was blocked by blinds. I was confused when he entered the room because usually, rooms aren’t usually used by new workers or by two people.

When I entered the room, I looked around it looks similar to my previous work room. Two tables and chairs were arranged on each side of the room in a way that Jongdae and I will be facing each other. I assumed that the empty side was mine so I went there and sat down on the comfortable chair.

“We have the same position in the company and work, that’s why you’re gonna share this room with me,” he informed me.

“Ah, I see,” I said as I nodded.

I smiled as I ran my fingers on the mahogany desk. I could finally work normally again. I won’t have anyone to bother me from my work nor distract me from finishing a project before it’s due. The past few weeks were a torture to me because I felt so suffocated in Wu Corporation. I couldn’t breathe and I would be lying if I said that seeing Kris with a woman other than me was okay to me. It was hard to hold back my tears whenever I pass my work to him. I really did love him and I think I still do but I couldn’t bear the torture anymore. Every human being has a breaking point and mine was had reached its limits.

“..a while,” Jongdae said.

I blinked at him and the confusion on my face seemed evident as he laughed and repeated what he said.

“I’ll be leaving you for a while,” Jongdae said again, “I’ll let you get comfortable of the surroundings. I need to go somewhere.”

I nodded and told him that I’ll be fine on my own.

“So what’s the story with Sanghae?” Jongdae asked, sitting himself on the couch in his boss’ room.

He sipped his coffee and raised his eyebrows.

“She’s the ex of Wu,” Sehun said nonchalantly, his eyes on the papers on his desk.

Jongdae spluttered the coffee he was drinking and cursed as he felt his lips gets scalded, “What the ?”

Sehun looked up to meet Jongdae’s eyes and his mouth twitched at his friend’s reaction. Jongdae who wasn’t usually surprised by anything looks astounded on his seat and Sehun don’t blame him. Even he, himself, got a bit shocked when he knew.

“Chen, why are you so shock?” Sehun asked in a teasing tone.

Jongdae glared at him.

“I’m not shocked,” he defended, “And don’t call me Chen anymore.”

Jongdae shook his head, and muttered, “I don’t even know why I let you guys call me that in uni.”

Sehun’s mouth twitched when he sees Jongdae muttering to himself. He went back to reading the papers on his desk but was interrupted when his friend spoke again, “So you’re using her?”

Sehun shrugged as if it was no big deal, “Yeah. I mean there were other people present that day that I would love to employ but she has something that others didn’t have.”

Jongdae sighed and said, “Sehun, using someone is bad.”

Even if Jongdae didn’t say anything anymore, Sehun knew that they were both thinking of the same thing.

“Jongdae, this is not for my own sake but for everyone,” Sehun explained, “If we manage to be more superior to the Wu Corporation, we’ll get more projects and clients which leads to more money for everyone.”

Jongdae was quiet for a while then, “Is money all you ever think about now?”

“Jongdae, I really love you and all but if you have nothing nice to say, get out please,” Sehun ordered.

The elder pursed his lips and stood up. Before he closed the door behind him, he said, “Money can’t buy everything, Sehun. Have you forgotten that?”

Jongdae came in the room holding two cups of coffee and with a big smile on his face. I couldn’t help but smile back. How does he manage to do that? Don’t his cheeks hurt at all?

I said my thanks to Jongdae and he just nodded his head. He gave me papers and details about the next project that I have to be working on. He said to make some drawings and then tell him the materials that are needed for the project. I nodded and was listening attentively to everything that he was saying. However, he was interrupted when there was a knock on the door. I widened my eyes and saw who it was. I stood up immediately and bowed.

“Mr Oh,” I greeted.

“Oh don’t be so formal with me, Sanghae,” Sehun laughed, “Call me Sehu
