Awkward Night with Brilliant Ideas

Different Cultures Collide

After five minutes of trying to translate for Gonchan, Summer gave up because she couldn't translate it right and everyone was getting confused.

"Mianhaeyo..." She looked down and folded her hands.

The guys smiled at her. "You just learning. You ok."

Looking up at Sun Woo she smiled slightly and nodded.

"LETS EAT!" Gongchan yelled in Korean and grabbed Summers hand to drag her to the table.

As they all sat down to eat Summer tried to thank them for the meal, but she got a word mixed up and ended up saying something that the others were very shocked at.

All of a sudden Sun Woo smiled and left for a couple of seconds to come back with his tablet.

"Translator!"

Summer smiled up at him brightly and cursed herself in her head. Why didn't she think of that?

She typed in her thanks and slowly sounded the words out. She looked up at the guys who were all smiling with affection towards her.

"Oh oh oh oh oh!!!" Sandeul reached towards the tablet like a kid with a giant smile on his face.

Picking up her chopsticks, Summer began to eat as Sandeul typed away at the screen. This silence is nice.. But they seem like they are keeping quiet for my sakes....

"OKAY!" Sandeul smiled and looked at Summer expectantly.

She smiled and nodded as she set her chopsticks down.

In broken English he began to read. "Do not feel out place. You are very pretty." He scrunched his face up like a child and continued. "You will be my sister."

Summer smiled and got up to walk around the table. She knelt down and hugged him. "Thank you."

When they pulled away they smiled at each other and looked at Sun Woo in surprise as he snatched the tablet out of Sandeul's hands with an angry look on his face. He looked really angry until he set the tablet down. He said something to Sandeul and was satisfied with the reply he got.

When there was a knock on the door everyone turned their heads and Jinyoung got up.

Summer sat back in her seat next to Sun Woo and continued eating as she typed on the tablet.

Slowly she spoke to the members still sat down. "Thank you for inviting me here. And being so welcoming."

She looked up at everyone and smiled at the happy looks on their faces.

"No problem." Sun Woo smiled at her and patted her hand.

"And here I thought I was going to need to come translate for you, Summer."

Summer turned around to see Hyosung standing next to Jinyoung with a smile on her face.

~~~~
Hyosung had stopped shortly after walking into the dinning room to listen to Summer slowly speak in Korean. Smiling she was proud of the girl for stepping out of her comfort zone.
"And here I thought I was going to need to come translate for you, Summer." She folded her arms as she spoke in English.
Summer turned and looked at Hyosung. When she realized who it was she smiled and got up to hug the helpful lady.
"You're here! I can no longer feel stupid!"
Hyosung laughed and hugged her back. "You aren't stupid, just foreign."
Looking at Baro and smiled. "So this is the girl huh? Be nice to her. She's like a sister to me."
Baro nodded and smiled. "I will take good care of her."
Summer tilted her head trying to understand the Korean that had spewed out of Hyosung's mouth. "What did you say guys say?"
"Nothing dear. You should thank Gongchan for texting me and asking me to come over. He figured you would need some help."
Summer turned towards Gongchan and bowed while thanking him over and over.
"No problem." Gongchan waved.
Baro invited Hyosung to eat with them while he got up to get extra chopsticks and plates.
Sitting between CNU and Gongchan she smiled as she watched Summer. The young girl could not take her eyes off of Baro. It should hope for Baro.
~~~~

As Baro walked around gathering the things Hyosung would need to eat, he felt eyes on him. He slyly looked around to see Summer staring at his every move which made him smile. Maybe she likes me? Aish... Baro get it together. It would never work! Language barrier!!!

Hyosung smiled at Summer as Baro sat down and handed over the eating utensils. She said something to Summer which made the adorable foreigner blush.

Hyosung then translated for everyone. "They say that the best way to learn a language is to date someone that speaks that language. It gives you motivation."

Baro stopped his chopsticks half way to his mouth which was fully open waiting for the food to be shoveled into his mouth.

Hyosung then said something else with a sigh.

Summer looked up in shock. "Wae?!" Her voice rose from the shy volume to an upset one.

Hyosung then set her chopsticks down and motioned to Baro while saying something.

Summer hastily typed something into Baro's tablet and read the Hangul for what seemed like ages.

As she read, Baro realized that he must look like an idiot and shoveled the food into his mouth.

Shakily she read off, "Why can't you guys date?!" She had been speaking to the group, but was looking directly to Baro.

Sighing he swallowed his food and grabbed the tablet from her all too gently.

After translating what he wanted to say, he looked at her with sad eyes. "I am in a famous KPOP group called B1A4. We have a dating ban."
